  1. Maybe it is the unappreciated Sega Pico
  2. My old post is back . After I posted I made a list of all 5200 games and each has a little letter next to it showing which controller works best for that game (much of the information I got from Voltman's page). For games that work best with the regular analog stick, I have H.E.R.O and Star Wars: The Arcade Game and Zone Ranger; as well as, Robotron 2084 and Space Dungeon (but they are listed with a 2 meaning needing the dual controller attachment). I now realize I need to update this list and add prototypes and homebrews because back then there was no AtariAge store or independent dealers that I knew of releasing cool looking reproductions and no homebrews either. It is fun to dig through the filing cabinet and find old material that I know is in there!
  3. Wow -- sounds and looks incredible and great to know the 5200 is being included instead of just being for the 2600. Just make sure to make it easy to use so everyone will want it. I wish you the best of luck on it! -- RG
  4. I say it is probably worth the $50 because it is in such great shape. I am tempted to get it, but I promised myself (and my wife) to pay for some other things before buying more Atari. I also have two Wico sticks and keypads hooked up to the 5200, so I don't really need an extra joystick . It would be $50 to have a shifter to use with my 5200 paddle for Pole Position. However, how do you compare the Comp. Pro. to a Wico stick? Is the 5200 Comp. Pro. similar feeling to the 2600 one (they look almost identical) because I had one of those and sold it. I agree with what was said about it (experience with the 2600 version) in that I see how it sorta imitates an arcade stick, but it is awkward and I end up holding it to the table or floor to keep it flat (the buttons for the 5200 also would be awkward being on either side of the joystick). Just my thoughts - the price is just good enough to make you really think, but high enough to make you pause . . .
  5. Do you mind telling how much you paid for it? That's an incredible find -- congrats. again!

    whats this worth?

General worth is hard to establish, but I think you got a really good deal for $30 and I know it's fun to bring it home and look at it and test it. If you tested everything, cleaned it all up and presented it well, you might triple your money on Ebay (but it's a hassle). Nice effort and enjoy the 7800.
  7. Please post pics! Tell us how you lucked into such a great find. A "holy-grail" story let's all enjoy it. Congrats. RG
  8. These prices INCLUDE shipping. A pair of of SMS 3D glasses that have been cleaned, tested and have no broken or missing pieces. ($30) 4 Game Player's Nintendo Buyer Guide magazines (vol. 1 #1 and #3; vol. 2 #5 and vol 4 #4). They are all totally complete and in good shape. ($10) Just respond or e-mail me if interested! I am listed on the recommended sellers list. -RG
  9. I bought an Intellivision II today at the flea market and it had an old catalog in the box with it. I love looking at the old catalogs. This Intellivision catalog was interesting in that the major focus was how the Intellivision games are 1/2 the price of the Nintendo version for the same game. I always thought of the Intellivision as the big rival of the Atari 2600, but not the NES. I checked around and it is the last Intellivision catalog (put out by INTV) for Holiday 1989. Here's a website with it scanned: http://www.gloom.org/~gauze/intvcat/ pretty neat!
  10. My list of fair and honest traders. (A star * means that I have dealt with the person more than once): Anthony Atari Atari Rescue Group Calicolts CPUWIZ dougy76 figgler joshk Kenwood Lemmi MegaManFan * Mr. Retrogamer * Skatepunk76 Voltman * RIVER sku_u Take care, RG
  11. Hello -- Is the 5200 Comp. Pro joystick still available? What kind of condition is it in? Thanks for the reply, Ransom G
  12. I have to stick up for the 5200 here. The beast still looks sleek and powerful today. Also, it was released when Atari was still king and as such it was sorta the luxury model of the system line and it competed quite well with its competition. The 5200 trackball is outstanding (especially if you mod in arcade fire buttons) and the controllers look great (but I admit they stink). Lastly, the 5200 carts are nice looking with the big picture and a place for overlays all on a sturdy cart (and many of the games are great arcade translations). Go 5200!
  13. CPUWIZ -- It's packed and ready to go. I'll try to send it tomorrow at lunch. -- RG
  14. CPUWIZ -- I have one (if you still want one). PM me and we can work out Paypal or other means and shipping. Take care, RG
  15. I really like Activision Boxing. I admit it looks like two puddles fighting, but you actually hit when you push the button and it is a great two player game. I've tried Colecovision Rocky and SMS Rocky and I say gameplay wins on the 2600 (I know I might be crazy because DP guide gives the Colecovision a "plus" but the Video Game Critic gives the Colecovision game a big F and the SMS game a D+, but the 2600 game gets an A- and I agree!) It took me over a year to find the game, but I was happy to spy it at the flea market and bring it home!
  16. Stan -- Great page (fun to read). I think you have convinced me to buy Marble Craze with my AtariAge credit from the two shoeboxes of games I have sent (the second is in route). Honestly -- nice work!
  17. Mr. Retrogamer -- I won some 2600 y cables and 2600 extenders from that guy last year (I recognize the orange packaging). The y cables are the best in that I have paddles and joystick always hooked up and ready to go. I'm glad I bid on his stuff.
  18. I have wondered about that also. My niece and nephew still use their N64 and I have been wanting to find them some used games for cheap and I figured that by now I would -- no way! It is the last cartridge system so maybe this has something to do with it (I think cartridges look so much cooler than discs and they are more durable for kids).
  19. Thanks McGrail -- That is the reason I want to be able to send (buy some items). I can request a check from Paypal (have you all had good luck with getting Paypal checks in the mail).
  20. I have about $600 in my Paypal account, but I only have $110 left on my Paypal sending limit. I really don't want to connect Paypal to my bank account (my wife and I share it and she really doesn't trust the idea). I see you can get a Paypal credit card and this allows you a sending limit up to your credit limit. Is this an alternative to hooking Paypal to my bank account? When I reach my new credit/sending limit, will I then have to find another solution? Also, the Paypal premier card looks reasonable at 9.9% APR, but the rest are much worse than my current Visa card. Anyway I can insure getting the premier because they pick it based on ? (income and credit history I assume). Anyone have any experiences with the Paypal credit card? I really appreciate any replies! Thanks.
  21. Does this include third party games. I have a sealed Venice Beach Volleyball (willing to trade , but it doesn't have a seam on the back (just on the bottom and one side) - hmmm!
  22. I really want to see the Brazilian/Splicevision cart for the Colecovision called Dong Jr. (Donkey Kong Jr.). It is listed in the DP guide. That is one of the best cart names
  23. I knew Mr. Retrogamer would come through with his pictures and I know before that you mentioned one of the rare ones as your favorite and the best, but what is the best choice for one that is a pretty good replacement and affordable?
  24. There is a stick by Spectravision specifically for the Colecovision that has a place for the overlay and is sorta shaped like a handle/joystick that I think is a pretty good alternative to the stock Coleco stick/stub.
