It's your contest, but it really isn't that hard to ship to Germany. I have shipped Ebay winnings to England and Austria and it was easy enough. Maybe you could tell Thomas what he won and let him decide if he wants it and he could pay for any shipping above what US shipping would be. Just my 2 cents -- I feel bad that he won and then he gets no prize because he lives in Germany.

When you say buy it (Stella CD) from Randy -- I checked Hozer video, but it says $5 for volume one and volume two is out. What is on volume one? Also, 4jays sells one and I assume this is the newer volume II, but it is much more expensive. Thoughts/help -- RG

I have phaser patrol for the Supercharger, but I never really use it because I don't have the tape player set up right now and the tape looks like it is in bad shape so I'm afraid to use it and break it. How many of you collect the Supercharger games? Do you actually use them? Do you think they are more liable to break than a cart? Has anyone bought the Stella CD -- how has using that been? Thanks -- RG

AH yes indeed -- my first computer  and only gaming machine
growing up! Mega Bug and Dungeons of Daggorath anyone! Does anybody collect for the old Trash '80
. I remember a few posts about the CoCo, but very few. -
I just played the Xbox for the first time this evening. I am NO expert on modern gaming, but even I really noticed how much faster things loaded on the Xbox than the PS2 (we mainly played Madden 2003 football). Just my 2 cents!
P.S. -- Yikes -- I didn't read thru this post before I posted. I think I will head back to classic gaming!

Thanks Video Game Bible -- you backed up my original point about the South (Bible Belt) probably having more Wisdom Tree titles (and old Stryper albums  ). Interesting facts . . .

Sorry IceCold -- I sold that beat up one awhile ago.

Mods are fun to do and believe me, if I can do it, you can do it. I was apprenhensive about electronics, messing something up, etc. I have added a nice arcade button to my trackball, put in a 4 port bios, fixed two 5200 controllers and a 5200 Wico stick. Mr. Retrogamer helped me with several of them and he and other people are the board are great about not talking down to a newbie and giving specific instructions (even when I was trying to put my Wico stick together upside down
. Seriously, I wouln't attempt a video mod or anything yet, but cleaning, small repairs and easy to do mods are fun. By the way, what do you all think are some of the easier mods for the 5200 or 2600? -
Christmas time is around the corner and RangerG is thinking about presents (for himself that is)
He really likes some of the 5200 reproduction carts available at the AtariAge store. He sees other things that are available other places around the web, but if buying from the AA store shows his appreciation to all the moderators and in general to AtariAge then he wants to do it. AtariAge has never hit him up for money like a few other boards he has posted on before. What do you all think? Does AA get a decent % of profit from sales; does it help support the boards? What should Ranger do? -
You might want to reserve a place at PhillyClassic. Those should sell like hotcakes!

Hey -- mine is a repeat with Holly Hill, FL. What are the chances with the dozens of crappy/touristy Florida postcards? I was going to send one of the typical "hot babes in bikinis -- this is the life" Florida postcards, but I thought sure there would be lots of others just like it. I was wrong -- AtariAge posters have some taste -- well done!
P.S. Make that three of the same -- what's the deal with the attraction of the house???

CPUWIZ --
Was it you? You secret scoundrel keeping things from the AtariAge board  . I saw that Sunnyvale, Ca location (is that true?) and I thought where better to find a grail!
-
Hey CPUWIZ --
I never thought about that -- that's an excellent point. It's nice to know then that it happens. If anyone does have a story they are willing to share, please tell or post a link (you can even make up a new profile and post anonymously to avoid the Atari stalkers
). Seriously, I enjoy reading those legend/lore/great find stories. -
I had written this on another post, but I don't want to continue that one because it was all a hoax. However, it did make me think. What do you think are the real chances of finding a 9 or 10 boxed Atari game (or even unboxed for that matter)? Has anyone RECENTLY had a spectacular find that anyone can remember. I know there are some great legitimate stories of holy grail finds, but it seems like most were around 1996 or before Ebay and the pick-up in Atari collecting. I have been a pretty avid forum reader (I just don't post that much) since the beginning and I can't remember a legitimate holy grail find (but there probably has been). I remember two or three claims that were never backed up with pictures. I think the chances are really really low -- many of the 9s and 10s weren't even released to stores in the first place so the stories of people finding an old never sold game in a hobby shop or Toy store aren't going to happen.

post moved!

Shine --
Come back! The original post does have some believable elements to it and you are right that TNT BMX games are a lot more common. That would mean just one really really rare boxed mint game -- prove me wrong Shine -- I really do want to believe you!
It just immediately reminded me of this recent post which I enjoyed reading:
-
I don't want to be a grumpy old naysayer, but I just find it less than credible. Honestly -- if he can show pictures, then I will be the first to say absolutely incredible find and I hope he enjoyed the rush and excitement of such a great find. Just my 2 cents!
Take care,
RG

Is this a hoax? Call me a skeptic, but I want to see a picture of a boxed mint Eli's Ladder and 2 boxed BMX Airmasters found all together. If this is true -- I truly congratulate you.

If Tempest agrees, then I am on to something . . . I'm serious I have six carts here (maybe I'll scan them later -- I have to go to teach right now) and they look like that Brain Games one just mine are even more clearly faded. It is especially true on the end lables. What a discovery

-
I'm real picky when it comes to my labels (I like them in excellent shape). However, something like Actiplaque doesn't bother me as much because it occurred naturally (bad glue). Anyways, almost a third of my Sears labels have strange fading on them. Does anyone else have this? What causes it? Let me explain better -- the fading is in perfect blotches/squares/sections so it puzzles me. I looked through the AA cart scans and several look like mine do, so it makes me think maybe it is the glue or a specific Sears problem and not that the carts' original owner left them out in the sun or something. Check out the cart scan of the Sears Brain Games and you have the exact fading pattern I have on four or five of my carts. If this has been addressed before -- sorry, but the mystery is killing me
.Thanks --

Voiddweller or anyone --
Would you explain the screw trick? I see how the white plastic piece with the spring could be pushed out more to get a tighter fit with the locks. On one of my joysticks the lock barely catches it on one side and so it sometimes misses and clicks and doesn't center. I pushed it back out and it works for now -- but I can see it being a problem. Does the screw trick fix this (I see how cardboard would help, but you have to be careful or the piece won't stay on)?
Thanks --

What do the labels look like?
(i.e. condition on a scale of 1-10)
1 = a cat pissed on it; a dog chewed it, and now I rescued it form the thrift
10 = looks brand new to me
