  1. Thanks for the information MegaMan. I'll look for Missile Command 3D on Ebay, but I would still rather buy or trade from someone on AtariAge. Take care, RG P.S. What's your favorite 3D game?
  2. AtariArt -- I hope you find the picture. The Atari 5200 wasn't around that long and it has fewer interesting peripherals so anything like a carrying case sparks interest. That thing must be like a suitcase considering how big the 5200 is -- I really can't see me in 1983 lugging the 5200 in a hard heavy case with the entire thing almost as big as me over to my friend's house for an overnighter . -- RG
  3. Calicolts -- Thanks for looking -- any 3D game will do! Take care, RG
  4. I'm sure many of you have already seen this website, but I think it is a really well-done site and interesting to read. He even talks about making two sequels to Miner 2049er (one was called Scraper Caper and the other wasn't named yet) that were almost finished but never released. Check it out if you want: http://www.bigfivesoftware.com/index.asp
  5. I need a little help. I found a pair of SMS 3D glasses about three months ago. I figured by now that I would find a SMS 3d game to test it, but no such luck. I would like any SMS 3D game. I can Paypal you for it (I would give you DP guide prices plus shipping) or we can trade. I have a small selection of extra 2600 and NES games and a few Genesis and SMS games. We would trade using DP prices. Thanks, RG
  6. What is the best way to remove the small thin plastic piece that surrounds the start/pause/reset button on a 5200 joystick? Whenever I remove it to fix or clean a joystick, I end up taking out a piece of the plastic. I can pop it out with a screwdriver, but it is so weak that I mess it up. Any suggestions -- should I use a toothpick or something or pop it from the inside?? Is it just me or do others mess up this piece. By the way, what is the official name of this piece so that I can order extras from Best if I ever decide to order a bigger item from them. Thanks for the help! -- RG
  7. That was a fun read -- thanks. I wish Atari had made pause one of the required or expected features before 1987. I miss a pause feature on early games, but a few of the late games have it. It was interesting to see that Atari realized what a good feature it is and required it. -- RG
  8. bump I sent you a private message. We will see if you get any more interest! -- RG
  9. I need to chime in and give credit when credit is due. They just get funnier. Good laugh -- thanks!
  10. And another . . . http://members.ex-pressnet.com/sknox/cv_manuals.htm
  11. Philflound -- Do you recommend ending an auction on Thursday night? I have always thought that ending it at around 9 or 10 Sunday night was best because more people are on their computers ? Thanks for the input! RG
  12. I don't know about Obelix, but rarity doesn't equal high price. High demand equals high price. For instance, a KidVid player is a 10, but a used KidVid gets about $35 on EBay (this was a previous message discussion). However, Chase the Chuckwagon has an interesting history and is unique so it's gets $$ even though it isn't as rare as other carts that fetch lower prices.
  13. Karl -- I also am having a problem with a package from James (he copied my address wrong), but he has been really nice about it and resent it and gave me the tracking # today. I don't think he is trying to do you wrong (I will change my mind if I never get my package!). Honestly, some sellers on Ebay are compele a##holes -- his lenghty response shows to me that he at least has time to look into things. Also, I saw a Wico connector sell for $30 on Ebay not too long ago. I know the Digital Press guide lists a Wico stick and connector for $20, but I think that is way low. Take care, RG
  14. I have seen 2 Wico sticks for the Intellivision sell on Ebay before and the Intellivision case needs to be taken apart for it to be connected. They are rare, but not that desirable. It's like the KidVid -- Digital Press gives it a 9 or 10 rarity, but then a loose one sells on Ebay for like $30. I posted a message on the Digital Press board several months ago and got a few replies that yes the Wico exists for the Intellivision, but that it adds nothing to gameplay and in many cases hurts it because the games are made for a disc. I hope somebody else know more -- anyone?
  15. Karl, A Wico keypad is hard to find. Somebody should have an extra Wico joystick, but they can go on EBay for anwhere from 30 to 100 dollars. Didn't you post about buying the Colecovision stick and the Wico connector? If so, all you need is the 5200 stick. Also, if you do find a Wico keypad, you shouldn't need the Wico connector because they go together. Take care, RG
  16. I am almost to my spending (I should say sending) limit on Paypal. They basically force you to tie your account to a bank account at this point. I am really apprehensive about that, but I see no other option. I know this was an earlier post, but any suggestions? Have you had any problems with Paypal tied to your bank account?
  17. I also looked into the alternate intellivision joysticks (mainly several kinds of stick-on attachments or the Wico) because I really don't like the disc. I posted a message on the Digital Press boards about it (this was months ago). The replies said that basically all the options are pretty poor and that the Wico is hardly a better replacement. I few people recommended the INTV attachments that clip over the top and several people said the "sticklers" break and to avoid them. So -- sorry to say but I found very little good said about the alternatives. You could buy a Wico for rarity/curiosity, but I don't think it would make the disc any more fun to use (the games were programmed for the disc so it might even make them worse -- this is what one guy told me.)
  18. Kherman -- A 5200 Wico adaptor/connector alone recently sold for $30 on Ebay (buy-it-now) so you did get something of value. However, if you thought you were getting a 5200 wico stick and connector for $50 then I see how you would be upset. I don't believe the buyer was trying to rip anyone off (third party classic gaming stuff can look similar). I hope you get it resolved. Take care, RG
  19. I have been very busy this term studying for my doctoral prelims. and orals so I have been lurking on AtariAge, but not posting much and then trying to get back to serious studying. Well - I followed this post and then saw Skywalker's picture of Nick. It was one of those moments when you need a break and I just started laughing and laughing. Man -- now I feel great! What a picture. Thanks Skywalker!!!
  20. I would like to know what Albert thinks about the read because I am interested!
  21. I seldom find Colecovision carts, but after a year and a half of looking I have about 5 games. My problem is with the consoles. I have found three, but they never seem to work very well. I bought a supposed mint one off EBay and it looks great, but I still say the video connection is poor and it sometimes is fuzzy. I have read posts on Digital Press and other places and I really don't think the Colecovisions were made as well or have held up as well as say the 5200 (my favorite machine!). I wanted to know if anyone else has had problems with Colecovisions and if anyone uses an Adam to play carts. The Adam seems like it would be a nice substitute -- big and sturdy, an a/v connection (I think?) and even plays the three or four super games on tapes. The drawback is that the computer is huge and you need that printer to plug it all in. Does anyone have just an Adam without keyboard and one of the special/make it yourself power supplies (so no need for printer) that they use for Colecovision games? How does it work? How big and out of place does the big brown monster look? Thanks!

    nice tome

Sorry -- I thought I was posting this under the tome message. I wish I could move it.
  23. RangerG

    nice tome

Wow -- I dowloaded it and it looks and works great. I'm a real book lover so I only wish there was a real Atari Tome. I don't care how big it is; I just like actually handling paper. Maybe I'll print it out someday and put it all in one of the big Atari computer binders I have -- maybe I need to check how much ink I have and if the printer will hold up first . -- RG
  24. Absolutely true -- I have all my other classis systems on a book shelf next to the 5200. My mint 5200 sits alone and dominates the desk it sits on with the tv above it. It really is massive. People always come in and see the Atari 2600 and recognize it and love to look at the joystick and paddles. However, many people think the 5200 is a new system. My friends are not videogamers so they even have asked if this is Atari's modern system.
  25. The Epyx 500XJ is a great stick, but the clicking could drive you insane. The TAC 2 and Slik Stik are my other two favorites. I always need to have the original Atari stick hooked up to at least one side of the 2600 though because anyone that sees my Atari loves to look at and remember the original.
