    Make no mistake: this thread was the very genesis of their announcement.  Granted, the announcement can be broken down to "Hey! We're gonna have an app available on our unconsole!  And you gotta subscribe to it.", but hey...

     

    The pressure that was put on them was reaching a fever pitch, and to save face, this is what they came up with.  An app.

We had a great run through marketing and software development, until getting bogged down with issues in the past few months. We are doing everything we can to agree on a new plan with our partners to bring us forward.

     

    We need more time while we figure this out and revise our overall plan. We know this isn't what you want to hear. We know you've taken a chance and invested in Atari VCS, and in us as a company, and we do not take that support lightly. We will give more details as soon as we can. In the meantime be assured we are here, working every angle 100%, and we will continue to do everything we can to keep moving forward.

    1. Pressure from social media necessitated that they address their lack of communication.

    2. They're not shipping in December. Period.

    *ETA Oh, I actually CAN still comment. This could get fun for a minute or two.

    So as some have pointed out already, my post was removed and I've been banned from making further comments in the Reddit thread.  I knew it would happen, but even so, it kinda pisses me off, tbh.  Odd that I feel that way, but I think it's stemming from the fact that overall, i hate being summarily dismissed.

    Last year was my first PRGE, and I'm looking forward to this one, too.  I have a question that I haven't seen discussed anywhere.  Namely, trading.  I figure that vendors aren't up for trading for several obvious reasons, namely the exhibit hall is SO busy and cash is quick and easy. Not to mention that, as an attendee, hauling stuff around is unwieldy and impolite.  So outside of the exhibit hall, are there groups/booths/etc. that are established and eager to trade?  Are there groups/forums online discussing what they're looking for and what they have to bring?
