  1. I'll be there with bells on and about a grand in my pocket. So bring me your 7's, 8's and 9's cuz I wanna buy. As my first real "show" in this hobby I am looking forward to it.

BTW If I bring my eight year old (who loves playing as well) is there a reduced admission price? or does he pay full cost. Thanks.

  2. So you figure it may be Zellers piece then? The artwork on the Scuba Diver looked cartoony, not as psychedlic as the other Zellers pieces. If you say you have found a bunch of them in our fair country though, I'd have to go with the Zellers theory. Thanks for the input. How come it doesn't appear on the rarity list under any category? BTW what game is it really? I mean like Busy Police is really Keystone Kapers, Freeway is Freeway etc

    Thanks,

    Jim

  3. One of these sold on Ebay last week advertised as a Zellers cartridge. I don't think it is one but the rarity guide doesn't list this piece at all (not even as a Taiwanese boot). Does anyone have any info or thoughts on this piece?

  4. I have a really minty system, in immacualte working condition complete in the rarer Canadian box available for sale. I am looking to get $40 for it. (New Lower Price) It also comes with complete boxed copies of Computer Intro (uncommon), Black Jack (rare), Speedway/Spinout/Crypto Logic (common), and in Plastic boxes are Take the Money and Run (uncommon) and Math-A-Magic/Echo (Rare). Pictures are available on request and shipping will be exact cost. If anyone is interested. Please LMK. Thanks for your time.

  5. Having just entered this hobby of collecting classic video games and

systems, I have started to notice some trends that I have found pretty odd.

My greatest passion is collecting vintage Star Wars toys (1977-1985).

In that hobby people are generally looking for the toys still in

their blister packaging or boxes. People who collect Star Wars toys loose

are seen as fringe collectors. It seems to me that with classic video

games the opposite seems true. That "true collectors" buy their games

loose, so they can play them and that anyone who buys or collects,

sealed MIB games is somewhat lesser of a collector. Is this assessment

    correct?

Another question I have is the 2600 vs Nintendo mentality. Strolling

around at a local flea market this past weekend I noticed that at the

3 or 4 videogame booths I passed, the NES cartridges were the "glamour

pieces" and the 2600 carts were treated like red-headed step children.

All the NES carts were priced at $10 and up behind glass while the Atari cartridges were priced to sell at $2 each no matter what the title all loosely piled in the junk bins. Is collecting

for the Atari 2600 more of a niche market? I can't see it as being

a supply issue as I am pretty positive in my limited knowledge of

video games I am pretty sure that more Nintendo games are available

to the general public than 2600 ones. I am also pretty positive that

there are less sealed copies of 2600 Pitfall (a groundbreaking and

very relevant game) than a Final Fantasy (another groundbreaking game),

yet if you were to find them on Ebay the difference in price would be

$500...on the side of Final Fantasy. Why is this?

I look forward to everybodys thoughts, opinions, and arguments, in

helping me understand this hobby better. If I am way off base on

any of my thoughts, please LMK.

  6. Hi all, I am a Newbie to the forum and collecting Atari in General. Anyways I am think about starting to collect the Zellers Subset and wondered what these usually sell for and how hard it is to complete a collection. Which game is the toughest? How many there are exactly? (I know the Atariage index lists about 15, but I noticed that it doesn't include SeaHawk, Bank Heist and Speedway to name a few. Are there any others? Any other info would be appreciated as well.

    Thanks,

    Jim

  7. I know it is listed as a 4 on the rarity index but this is the Milton Bradley

Canada version which also says "For/Pour Atari 2600" Pics are available by request. I did an Ebay search and nothing came up for either version, so I was thinking $20 shipped. (if the price is way out of whack LMK so I don't look stupid...I just joined today :) ) Labels are 8/10. Tested this weekend and works just great. Thanks for looking.
