Yep, it'll work just fine for what you inquired about. While this model doesn't do RGB, the composite will still look considerably nicer than what you get on a standard consumer CRT.

sometimes (if you dont mind having the back cover off and your hands inside the vectrex when the unit is powered on), you can 'massage' or apply some pressure to the chips (such as the socketed chips like the VIA chip), and see if what is happening on the screen changes. if it does, then that can help pinpoint if a chip is not functioning properly or is not seated in the socket very well/poor connection.

doing this method i repaired a vectrex in the past when i noticed that if i touched (squeezed a little) the polystyrene (funny looking silver barrel) capacitors in the integrator section, the already erratic screen would change.

not sure if I want to pay the $125 asking price

Finally have my Model 1 High Def Non-TMSS up and running....concerning the headphone jack in the front...would connecting a bluetooth speaker using a cable produce sound from it or does it have to be a regular type speaker?

I would NEVER take a genesis to best buy for repair...hahaha. WHY would you even consider this?

 

There are 30 people right here on Atari age that would do a better job for cheaper, and who know what they are actually doing and looking at.

Just trying to save on shipping ...I'm already out $30 and the shipping for a supposed cleaned and 3x tested unit...just want to get it working and move on ya know
