Thanks guys! I'm starting to dislike retrobriting more and more, in favor of a very light paint spray. I overdid the retrobriting on the case flap (it sank to the bottom of the mixture) and want to spray paint. Interestingly it looks the same as your photo. What does your photo show exactly? Hi Bryan, thanks for providing this. Back in Jan I discussed making a video of installing this, to host at my channel (http://youtube.com/perifractic). I'm finally shooting it! I hope you can assist with some constructive questions/feedback about the above instructions? You say: "3. Put the Color-In wire in the right-most terminal (terminal 1 when facing the terminal openings)." This is a bit confusing. In the photo, it is indeed in the "right-most" terminal, but it depends which way the user's board is facing. "Terminal 1" isn't labelled so we're reliant on a user knowing that 1 is leftmost... but we're talking about rightmost... Can I suggest something like: "Put the Color-in wire in Terminal 1, which is the terminal nearest the edge of the board." (That way we don't get into left or right which is all subjective.) You say: "4 ... The remaining terminals (R to L) are..." Can I suggest: "Terminals 2 to 6 are..." You say: "1. Locate C182. The AC board will go on the back side of the leads." Back side is subjective. Also what is the back side of the leads? Isn't it more that the leads will go on the opposite side to the AC's chip or logo? You say: "2. Line up the corresponding pads on the AC board and solder it to C182's leads..." "Corresponding" is tricky for some as there is no obvious labelling on C182 to see what corresponds with what. Can I suggest something like: "Orient the AC board with the chip and logo facing away from resistor C182, then solder the side facing towards C182 to its leads." Same sort of suggestions with... "Front end of R160" - which is the front? "right side of R170" "ground pad on the backside of UAV" - actually isn't it the top side when the UAV is in place? It's facing upwards. Hi guys, a couple of questions please. This is for a video of upgrading the video, sound and RAM for my channel http://youtube.com/perifractic so I want to show the before and after memory stats. I also want to get games working on the new memory 48K that didn't work on the standard Atari 400 memory. 1. I don't have a BASIC cart or any SD card device, just the stock Atari 400 and a few games (Asteroids, Star Wars, Return of the Jedi.) Is there any way to get the machine to display how much RAM it has? 2. As most Atari 800 games support the Atari 400, what is the benefit of a memory upgrade? - Can you list some games that will run on the 800 not 400 (until I upgrade to 48K)? My confusion is compounded by some games like Rescue on Fractalus (the one I want to get working) being listed as for the "XE" consoles, yet on eBay and AtariMania it being listed as for the "400/800/XE/XL". Anyone know which it is? - Will the memory open up additional features on the same 400/800 cart? Thanks!
