  1. Still need a secretive uber collector to dump those Bouncer roms. 🙁
  2. They've claimed all the Indiegogo preorders will get the 800.
  3. Whatever else comes of this, whatever money they've paid UberStrategist is money absolutely wasted. What an absolute trainwreck of a social media campaign this has been. Were I Fred, I'd have severed ties with these idiots long ago. Hell, if Atari had simply handled it internally part time, they couldn't have done much worse.
  4. Yes, but not with optimised rumble and controller lighting functions. 😉
  5. Even at that, you're going to have to add some actual storage, right off the bat.
  6. I'm actually going to put the snark away for a moment and genuinely ask, "Why?" The hype train for new consoles is usually simple. Cutting edge graphics. Higher resolutions. New entries in popular franchises. Larger storage. Whatever wonderful weirdness Nintendo thinks up. To these troll eyes, there's nothing this thing does that isn't already being done, being done better, and being done with better support. I'm willing to concede that I'm perhaps missing some key component to this thing so honestly...is it just the logo?
  7. Unless I'm reading this wrong, this announcement amounts to a few extra vintage games on a streaming service that's already available on virtually any connected device, including the phone in my hand. I'm sure the supporter dullards will be super excited but honestly, who cares? It's just another Netflix mom "me too" feature.
  8. Ease of use, platform exclusives. Pretty much the same selling points consoles have had for 40 years.
  9. The play mechanics remind me of Namco's Armadillo Racing.
  10. I'm ready to give up and Dexter this one. Just an unbelievable PITA.
  11. With all the basement talk, I figured I might as well point out what a typical troll/hater's basement looks like.
  12. Yeah, Cendejas is something special. The dude ruthlessly monitors every single social media outlet for any sign of "troll" activity, then calls any critics obsessed. He's deranged.
  13. Not to drag us too far off tacopic, but AAE will display vectors better, nowhere near properly. You'll never get that contrast or phosphor traces from an LCD. Regardless, the built-to-a-price screen of the 1UPs is a travesty. VID_20190926_170729.mp4
  14. I've never used a single cuss word or personally attacked anyone, yet here I am...riding the bench. It's almost like that statement simply isn't true.
  15. Don't. I'd never hurt my daughter's feelings because it was a gift, but the vector graphics on an LCD monitor just don't work. The sharp, bright lines and even brighter Asteroids bullets just can't be replicated even close to properly.
  16. That release says nothing other than that there will be more releases. I'm an arcade collector, but I sit way outside of the bell curve. I don't know what kind of legs the 1UPs are going to have. Most normal people aren't going to put more than one or two of these in their house, and I'd think most of those people already have one or two. Further, even though Atari released tons of arcade titles, 1UP has already released most of the easily recognizable ones. Despite their "sold out" claim, a lot of them were clearanced out. My daughter bought me an Asteroids just to mess with for $100.
  17. Yikes. I don't know if the UberStrategist intern has gone into hiding or what, but that subreddit's devolved into Thunderdome.
  18. Of note: Another scheduled nothingburger post on Facebook. No response whatsoever on Reddit.
  19. At least the product is finally getting some press attention, right? https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/09/25/atari_retro_console/
  20. Wow. Knock me down with a feather. Is that for real? I would've expected ripples across the SupporterSphere.
  21. I cannot possibly take this person seriously.
  22. And now I'm blocked from the VCS's Twitter page, apparently for using their own quote on the "caption this" picture. One does wonder if this kind of scorched earth policy doesn't signify the beginning of some kind of end, either a final push toward release or the catastrophic implosion.
