  1. Yes, I did.But most of the civilized world already has a PC. How does the final form of the VCS help anyone "Game, Stream, and Connect Like Never Before?" It's literally a low/mid spec PC. I can already run Linux, I already have Windows, I already have Atari Vault, I've been playing T4K for a year, and even Antstream is available on other devices. You're saying Atari's triumphant return, their key to the marketplace, the thing that will send people lining up at Walmart and GameStop to preorder, is a PC for people that don't have a PC?
  2. Atari VCS: Game, Steam, and Connect Like Every Other PC In The World Already Does
  3. Holy shit. Every time I start to think the bar for corporate weasel nothingspeak can't possibly be lowered any further...
  4. Of course it doesn't. It hasn't looked promising since June 2017, when a tiny IP holding company with no hardware experience announced its intention to enter the ultra-competitive console market.
  5. According to Tod, keeping track of both players' scores and the remaining wafers on both boards between turns did in fact use it up.
  6. They can only remake games they own the rights to, and by "they" I mean whatever studio Atari can get to make them. This is how Atari raised 3 million bucks. People don't even understand what Atari is.
  7. Unless they make arrangements with Warner, no. That was under Atari Games.
  8. Enough units for what? If they're tooled up, they can presumably make as many as demand dictates. The question is what demand is there?
  9. Now that I think about it, though...how awesome would it have been if instead of "Atari VCS: Game, Stream, Connect Like Never Before" they'd gone with "Atari VCS: Trying To Come Up With Something" for the IGG campaign?
  10. If you think "trying to come up with something" is a compelling endorsement of a product or a solid business case for it to exist, I really don't know what to say.
  11. If I pay more attention to this mess than a guy that threw actual money at it, I don't feel bad for him.
  12. I imagine it's like one of those timeshare rackets where they suck a few hours of your life in exchange for tickets to a show or some casino credit.
  13. He's been thinking these things for the past two and a half years, despite Atari ignoring and disappointing him over the same period of time. It's a broken record of "big partner" and "real news" anticipation, over and over. There's a difference between being positive and completely disregarding reality.
  14. You're already seeing previews of that from people like Noel "Did You Even Back It" Joseph, who you know, forgot they even paid for it so who cares? It'll just be a plus when it shows up, because apparently forgetful money dumps are a recreational activity now.
  15. I'm sure there are many silent normies that backed this because they didn't know any better but let's face it...virtually all of the vocal backers are on the whack job spectrum.
  16. What did I miss that had Atari SA stock jumping almost 10% today?
  17. I hope you get yours, and that you enjoy it immensely. I certainly have no impact on the market, or whether the unconsole fails or succeeds. At this point, it seems to me that a physical release is all the most vocal backers are looking for...a shiny collectible shelf warmer. Any functionality of the unit looks to be of secondary importance. My enjoyment from this ridiculous incarnation of the company, though, comes from its endless bumbling missteps with not only the VCS project, but also its recent history of half-baked abandonware releases. I've certainly never ruled out its release, but from its very inception I've questioned its relevance and Atari's ability to properly support a hardware release. I've seen nothing over the past 30 months to change that view.
  18. I can't believe I'm responding to this kind of idiocy, but because those are multi-billion dollar companies with proven track records that aren't constantly beating the preorder drum for phantom product. You're right, though. They don't have to do a damn thing, and their company can continue to be an unfunny punch line trading at .31 Euro in the penny stock market.
  19. New user out of the blue and pretty much nails it. Get this man a taco. Certainly worlds more cogent than Kurt's "it's a web server, vpn server, ad-blocker, plex server, network storage living room gaming PC with access to the Atari store that also makes mean julienne fries" sales pitch.
  20. An Xbox (or Playstation, or Nintendo) knows exactly what it wants to be, which is why it excels at it. Atari hasn't done much to convey why this exists, so it's no wonder you're not sure sure what you're going to do with it.
  21. Damn. Well there's a convincing testimonial. I'm sold.
