  1. Got charged the same thing and my cost is the same as you. I'm out near Poughkeepsie, NY. I have no clue how they are charging... it's pretty ridiculous.
  2. The fact that the situation that you described is so true is what makes it really interesting. They want to give off the appearance of being the paragons of excellence and transparency within the space of the retro gaming field, and yet they give off the feeling of slimness and inability to follow on their own promise to refund the money if they don't make it. They are really full of shit and willing to fleece these unsuspecting saps that bought into this outfit.
  3. It's impressive, but Kev has been doing this type of thing for about 20 years, if not more. His methods of reverse engineering likely hasn't changed, but only increased in it's complexity. It's easy to forget this (or not know) this fact. He may not be able to reach beyond the Sega Genesis/Neo Geo or PS1 without having a team of engineers at his level.
  4. I'm willing to believe they will announce something right alongside the shipping date for the Super NT. Which is soon! Only 14 more days til the end of this month!
  5. Ha, it was exactly what I was going for! Definitely true. I'd much rather no information than a circus of lies and nonsense. We at least know the quality of whatever Analogue is doing is worth the wait and silence.
  6. Watch as Analogue randomly drops an announcement, making everyone have a cow.
  7. So because there's no information you don't think it's coming anymore? Gotta have more faith than that, lol -- I'm sure they would mention if they cancelled the thing, they would have told us already. What I personally think is that they will drop the announcement of their new system AND information and release date of the DAC at the same time. It's a perfect marketing move for them to drop both, and then explain it's compatibility for the Super NT. Even more if they open up pre-orders right from the jump as well.
  8. Hah, whoops! Very last week of the month. *
  9. I personally gave them the benefit of the doubt to see what they would push. Everything I've seen today is highly suspect now. Would not recommend to anyone. Not sure why every company has to over-promise on the details.
  10. I'm on a number of Discord servers with a a couple of people who have interest in the device being a Retron 5 replacement. The interest is there, it's just not in-your-face round the clock news on the device just yet due to it being obviously not near release yet. Personally speaking, the lack of information should be concerning, but I'm guessing that will be forthcoming very soon, since today is supposed to be when pre-orders open. Personally, I don't subscribe to the belief that the console doesn't exist. To believe that after their show at E3 is pretty silly. It's not a bullshit pretend device like the Coleco Chameleon or Atari VCS. What's under the hood however will be telling.
  11. You're probably looking at the very last month of September, probably between 24th and 28th. They'll announce when, I'm sure.
  12. SD2SNES is gonna sell like hotcakes on Black Friday for sure.
  13. I don't think it's at all like how you're describing it. The fact that Kevtris has been able to post here frequently during the development & post-development and bugfixes process at all shows he has a level autonomy all to himself. He basically cannot talk about future products due to NDA -- I can promise you that you'll rarely see such a thing from any other developer who is working for a corporation or serious business (the fact that he posts on this forum, as well as Discord & IRC). It's also foolish to think that Kev is working on such a strict schedule that he can't do anything else with his life. From the number of times that Kev has mentioned, he has been working these Analogue projects in addition to his normal job. He hasn't stated otherwise yet. We also have no clue just how many hours he puts into this stuff. Indeed, it's obvious that he's doing just about all of this work out of his home -- he likely has an agreement with Analogue that every so often, be it weeks or months, he shows his progress on the current project, and discusses with his higher ups the current roadmap they are currently on. Not this idea that he's working in an office with a supervisor cracking a whip behind to continue to push forward or else. Thankfully, Kevtris is so obsessive, goal oriented and a perfectionist -- he wouldn't allow himself to slack off on a project like this, which is why we got such great products in the Nt Mini and Super NT. tl;dr: I'm not sure why you and a few others here have this idea that Kev is being slave-driven to complete this, or any other project. He likely discussed a workable schedule to complete to task, one that he and Analogue are OK with.
  14. If not for "corporate discipline", a good deal of products never make it to market at all. The Super NT/NT Mini would still just be the HiDef NES and a bunch of ideas. As Kevtris said, doing things with a hobbyist mindset makes for a much longer development cycle, usually due to the developer working at their own pace. When you have structure of some form (especially professionally), complete with deadlines, the chances increase greatly of work getting done. If you are private and can still complete projects, all the more power to you. However, not everyone can pull this off without some form of backing and/or funds. If you are hiring someone, hopefully you'll want them to work with a specific endgame and goals in mind. And hopefully pay them well.
  15. Doubtful any one knows the answer to this question.
  16. Asking for a bit too much. Real advertising on that level costs money -- you're not going to ever see adverts on the TV for any of these small time companies, Analogue included. And no one cares about newsprint media, not over various Internet formats. Don't be blinded by nostalgia either -- there was a good deal of failed projects back then as well for every success. The only thing that has changed is the visibility of it all, thanks to the ever watching eye of social media. Realize this is the new norm and those olden days you wish to have are long gone, well over 15-20 years ago. As for generating hot air, we'll just have to see where it goes. Looks like they are keeping the ball rolling, if those Tweets are anything to go by. Their Marketing team sucks, or is nonexistent, that much is for certain.
  17. They definitely need someone on their team who is keen to marketing and can turn everything around. And definitely someone who reads these and other gaming forums and outlets. Marketing is everything in this world of social media where information is on demand at everyones fingertips. If theres no information put out by a company, people will use speculation to fill the void always. And any 2nd or 3rd hand information quickly becomes misconstrued. Hopefully they can get it together.
  18. Thats a good reasoning for being skeptical honestly, and I cant blame you for it. There really hasnt been any headway when it comes to CD based systems, and weve already seen a fiasco with that Seedi system. However there in lies the benefit of them not taking your money through crowdfunding before showing off the product. At any rate the Polymega Twitter was just recently updated mentioning that several interviews are coming soon. Also mentions that the console is FPGA Assisted which seems to line up with the patent that was posted earlier here. Perhaps someone very technical like Kevtris might want to weigh in?
  19. Also I would say to be very suspect of this product if they start taking preorders before fully having specs out, or getting the console in the hands of reviewers, YouTubers, tech news circles, etc.
  20. I agree with a lot of your points. However even so, this is a far sight better than what happened with the Chameleon and currently with the VCS. I do want information upfront, but I also take time to look at the bigger picture at play as well. This company has changed its name, ended its crowdfunding campaign and somehow got angel investors to put in 500,000$ USD into the project. That tells me a lot from the jump. Does their marketing suck? Yes it does. Its a shame that theyve been keeping people at wits end over the specs and functionality of the device, while only offering meager tidbits here and there. Im used to this nonsense already in the gaming community in general. However, arent going around begging people for mone and/or offering a resurgence of gaming nostalgia in a pretty box with wood grain paneling. If you think about it, this echoes what happened with Chris Taber when he started his own ventures with the CMVS. People doubted it would release, then quipped about the cost amongst other things. However he kept it going and now in 2018 people purchase and discuss the NT, Super NT and various 8BitDo controllers with varied success and happy stories. If these guys can bring something else successful to the table, it would be a much needed thing.
  21. I'm not as interested in this console, but I find it pretty hilarious that some of you guys think this console is vaporware like the Coleco Chameleon or the Atari VCS. I mean, they actually showed up to E3 with a workable prototype, what more do you guys want? lol It's just a shame that the console hasn't gotten any buzz -- it would be interesting to see or read reports on how well the games play. It's impressive enough that they followed through and brought something to the table in a field of liers & profligates.
  22. Is your Twin Famicom RGB modded? If so, how or who did you go to to mod?
  23. Pretty sure Kevtris doesn't even know what "NT" stands for. Definitely not Nintendo however, lol.
  24. The general layperson person playing on the Super NT is going to pick what's best for them (or not even change the setting at all). Games look amazing enough without further tweaking to a specific standard.
  25. Dude wasn't even worth such an epic response. What awesome pictures, spoonman!
