  1. More interested in seeing someone paint their Super NT.
  2. Yeah man, there's no static on it. There are some pretty negative dudes in this thread I agree.
  3. There is almost always a reason why people engage others on an open forum. Be it for discussion or to argue someone else's viewpoint on the topic at hand, or to start drama. However, not everyone who responds to you is out to attack you on your posts. I also apologize if it comes off as such. You got exceptionally defensive towards cacophony when he correctly told you that Smokemonster has no control over what gets released with jailbreak patches, then proceeded to assume that people should "read between the lines" in your statement before claiming that there is a lot of negativity in the very thread. That comes off as passive aggressive and feeds into the same negativity. And yeah, people might not deserve the Core Store at all. Especially those who have been displaying a large sense of entitlement without fully respecting the time and labor behind writing and porting these cores, real or hypothetical.
  4. I agree 100% with this. Even at the SNT's current (initial) state I purchased it mainly to play my SNES carts and replace my modded SNES Jr. The fact that has all happened (and more) has far surpassed my own expectations.
  5. Aha, I see. Smoke was pretty quick to state that neither he nor frederic-mahe is the mysterious coder (a few days after dropping the first JB), and we have no reason not to believe him. Regardless of this, I'm sure said coder reads this forum and understands your sentiments towards his good work. With that said, the mysterious coder doesn't need any "motivation" at all from anyone in this thread or anywhere else -- they will release what they want regardless. Just like the initial JB, just like the recent JB that included the CopySNES function and fixed the majority of the previous two JB SRAM/save issues that people have been painstakingly documenting on Github for Smokemonster. If anything, it sounds like you (and others) may want to instead exercise a little patience and be excited for what may come instead. Also, as a person who hasn't yet purchased the Super NT yourself, do you think yourself more deserving than others of a Core Store? Some of us didn't exactly purchase the Super NT with hopes of a Core Store dropping. Others who have purchased with hopes of it has instead been actively helping out by catching bugs so things can move along on both the official and jailbreak firmwares. While a good deal of people are tying themselves in knots over it possibly dropping in a future update, not everyone is creating drama about it and instead are productively helping out so that the Super NT can be as accurate as possible.
  6. With the recent post from Analogue putting the Nt Mini on hiatus, you might want to think the opposite. No one has an idea of if the Nt Mini will come back, if ever now. However, would it matter much if the Super NT got a NES core? The Nt Mini has more or less become a collector's item now, though it had some minor problems with the build quality (connectors, etc). However in most cases, people with an Nt Mini in use more or less stopped playing with their carts as soon as the jailbreak was released. Also the Nt Mini cores do have issues, but I'm pretty sure once the fixes & updates with the Super NT are settled Kevtris will go back and start to fix those core issues as well, alongside the anticipated addition of the Intellivision core.
  7. And somehow you thought Smokemonster would be privy to this knowledge? lol Even if he knows what's going to happen, he's not going to tell you or any one here. If you want to take a guess, try looking at it from the angle of how many bugfixes are done to the Super NT. The more bugfixes that are completed without any extra effects, the higher the chance of newer cores being added in the (near) future.
  8. Sounds like you should get cracking on it again.
  9. He's definitely missing the point. There's no point to reading archived material when you can speak directly to Kevtris and have on-going dialogue with the man and ask him questions. He's actually posted about a ton of cool stuff coming up for the Super NT that he hasn't mentioned any where else (bug fixes, addition of SPC Player & visualization, etc). He's also in general a very cool guy and almost too willing to get into a technical discussion with anyone who piques his interest with a topic. Of course, anyone who's really enthused could be archiving each and every little thing that Kevtris mentions or talks about. Finally, I really wonder if Kevtris will ever post here again outside of major updates, to be honest. Between Discord and IRC he has two streams of on going and fluid data and information to work with, vs an older format like a forum chat.
  10. Not sure if this is the case, but only because of a recent comment Kev made last Sunday. He mentioned that he licences his cores out for both game and non-game related stuff in the Analogue discord.
  11. Tested US Super Star in both a 1CHIP and the Super NT -- same bug happens in both of those as well.
  12. I think you are thinking too deeply into this, lol. He's just a guy who wanted to start a Super NT Discord channel.
  13. I agree on all points. It's pretty nonsensical & foolish to believe that any clone console could be released without any sort of bug or flaws in the system, especially if the method of reverse engineering is by probing it's internal functions (I assume some sort of black box analysis). With that said, the idea of total accuracy comes as a promise that the company themselves strive to achieve, and they've been proving that within the last few weeks of the first run's release (and even prior to it's release as MLiG and other outlets have been mentioning). As far as the definition of "accuracy" -- for most outside of the absolutely hardcore retro enthusiasts, the idea of accuracy will go as far as being able to play this old games in exactly the same ways that they have in the last 25+ years. How the games looked and felt when they were children, only up-scaled for an HD era. From the looks of how the retro community has been going nuts in almost every avenue, Kevtris & Analogue hit this out of the park.
  14. I think it's perfectly fine to go after Analogue for false advertisement as you are doing. However, you really should research each and every other clone console if you're going to be so bold. Literally every single alternative clone console has some sort of audio or video flaw and simply is not up to par with this console, even since Day 1. Most people haven't even realized the obscure bugs that are being caught up to this point even. They have made a claim for "Total Accuracy" indeed. However they did not state a timetable at all for such a claim -- you should not have expected this out of the box. If you wanted to win on the argument that the Super NT had false advertisement out of the box, you've won on that front. However (and more importantly), you should realize that Analogue/Kevtris is remaining fully committed to stamping out all bugs as they appear and are reported. They are actively striving towards the goal of total accuracy. This is definitely something that rival companies have never committed to at all up to this point (as someone else has mentioned in this thread). If you are an owner of this console you should be happy and pleased that there is someone very hard at work and behind the scenes to please the user base at all, instead of making noise about something a PR team put together. You're literally one of two people making a kerfuffle over a PR statement. Everyone else is too busy enjoying the console.
  15. Conclusion is that you have no idea what you are doing. You shouldn't even be using the Framemeister with it. Hook it up directly to your TV, lol.
  16. What you're saying is fine and all, but it's outside of the scope of what I was saying. To us, yes, we have a good idea of who it is. However, for the person I was addressing, their angle of speculation fell upon not knowing who the developer might be for whatever reason. In this sense, I mentioned that if you want to trust the person who did the jailbreak, simply ensure that you can trust the middleman providing the download (which you can) -- you don't need to know who the person is, only trust that it's a legitimate jailbreak and not something malicious.
  17. As long as people don't have solid evidence, it will always be up for debate by someone, especially since the author of previous jailbreak in the Nt Mini was clearly known. Personally my angle is, I can trust the person who hosted the JB, I can trust that the custom firmware itself is reliable. If people are having reservations, they should simply wait for more updates to it.
  18. This is fine and all to speculate in this manner, but the better question that should be asked is "Can we trust Smokemonster?" Smokemonster has been well reputed for someone who takes out his time to curate his various ROM packs, only allowing for the best workable dumps that he can find. He has never added malicious things within these ROMpacks, and people have come to trust his releases in same manner as No-Intro before him. With that being said, I don't think he'd want to tarnish his growing reputation by hosting a jailbreak that has some sort of hidden, evil, or malicious intent. There's an exceptionally high chance you can fully trust what Smokemonster hosts, regardless of who wrote/performed the jailbreak.
  19. It's unfortunate that you feel this way, but understandable as well -- when Kevtris dropped the jailbreak with the NT Mini, it set a precedent that could be expected by many in successive console releases. No doubt Analogue, Kevtris' benefactor and patron know of this very well now as well. Also it's not obviously not impossible to port cores over, and the fact that there's no information (and Kevtris yesterday in the MLiG straight up told a donor to the stream "No comment" ) definitely leads to heartburn for many. It would be all too easy to just say "No cores, sorry". The fact that it's not happening would mean that the are picking a time to release this information, Kevtris is working on porting things over, Analogue is deliberating it's release, or any number or combinations of factors really. It's interesting seeing what information that Kevtris divulges about new cores that I find interesting over the fact that he hasn't given a yes or no answer. The reality is that for many it will come down to the Super NT playing SNES Roms, NES Roms and Genesis ROMs in such a jailbreak. Just about everything else is negligible in terms of marketability for Analogue. In this sense, if I was this type of gamer, I wouldn't purchase until Kevtris made an announcement in the positive -- not get myself into the trap of purchasing a system with the promise (real or imagined) of additional functionality.
  20. Sometimes I wonder why Wolf_ is in this thread. Do you even like the Super NT for what it does as is, Wolf_?
  21. If you're OK with your current set up, you shouldn't be pressed to upgrade, unless the bare minimums have been pushed ahead. It outputs 720p. A lot of people are fine, even with older displays.
  22. Oh nice! That's awesome that the 240PTest Suite works, espcially since Kevtris stated that he didn't even know about the carts existence earlier when I asked him. Can't wait to see the numbers my 2016 OLED pulls.
  23. People who ordered internationally getting their system 3-5 days before domestic clients is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. With that said, I'm pretty pissed, lol.
  24. Fly my man, fly. I expect a most through post of the Super NT on your website in a few days/weeks.
