  1. At least you realized quick enough that this project was dumpster fire territory. I just called out the obvious that I thought most people would see as well. Funny how so many of those people who attacked me for my opinions no longer frequent this forum.
  2. Simple, they refund all remaining preorders without having to be asked. The project is clearly dead, they need to do the right thing.
  3. So was this ever confirmed a dead project? I've been out of the loop for a bit. No way are they still promising the Amico will release at this point.
  4. We don't know if its even using a Cyclone V this time around and if it did it definitely wouldn't be the part they have been using over these past few years on other products. Could be a totally different FPGA brand this time around.
  5. It's not the same FPGA. They are both Cyclone V, but DE-10 Nano's FPGA has over 2X the LE and has an ARM core. Noir, Super NT, Mega SG and Pocket's main FPGA uses a 49K LE part. It will be interesting to find out what FPGA is used in the 3D.
  6. Yeah, I call BS on the FPGA PS2. The hardware needed to write a PS2 core would be quite expensive and writing such a core would require some serious time and skills.
  7. So just to for more clarification. The forums will continue to allow sub forums of brands/hardware not related to Atari for the foresseable future, or will there be a situation where it will be only Atari talk?
  8. Looks cute, but I'm assuming this just dumps the carts in ram like the Retron 5.
  9. BBG isn't IE, but the projects are still going to be tied to that company in some way. That matters and is relevant to point out. BBG doesn't have any track record of shipping hardware before, they are known for releasing a handful of low budget games you'd find buried on the Nintendo shop. If it were Evercade who were involved then I'd have a hell of a lot more faith in these projects.
  10. You can't use original Carts on MiSTer, for some people that matters.
  11. Speaking of LTO Flash, I wonder if Joe (Creator of LTO Flash) was the FPGA engineer William was talking about during the interview for the FPGA console project.
  12. This thread existing in this sub forum does not prevent you to continue to discuss about the original Intellivision console or games. People like myself also like to discuss new things that are also related to playing old INTV games, which these two projects "were" going to be. I still love playing original INTV games, but I use a MiSTer for my INTV needs now. Look I get it, the Amico tarnished and left a bad smell on this sub forum for you and you don't want to see that happen again with other questionable projects IE is in some way tied to. Totally understand that, but if we just look at the projects themselves they are retro inspired devices with the main goal of playing original INTV games, which by every definition would be considered relevant to this sub. The Amico being moved to the modern section made sense because playing original INTV games was not its primary goal/function.
  13. Some cross talk is relevant given the circumstances and the fact IE is still going to be connected in some ways to any future Intellivision hardware projects, even if produced by a different company.
  14. To me a modern console by definition plays modern games. An FPGA clone console uses modern hardware to play classic games, so it would be 100% relevant for classic INTV talk as it is related to retro gaming. I'm pretty sure the Colecovision Phoenix was not considered off topic in the Colecovision sub forum, so why treat this any different? It just looks like to me you don't like any discussion about anything related to Intellivision that results in highly critical takes. Nobody is forcing you to read these types of threads/posts.
  15. The FPGA project that was talked about would theoretically run original INTV carts, so it would still be relevant to this sub forum.
  16. I agree on most of the points you made, just don't want to see a repeat of what happened with Amico discussions in the past where any form of criticism/skeptimism were quickly downplayed and people getting labeled "trolls" were handed out so casually. As long as the current individuals are still running IE I just have very little hope for any brand new INTV consoles. Once IE is bought out by a competent company with a track record of selling hardware (e.g. Evercade) then I will likely change my tune.
  17. You literally called the critics/skeptics trolls. Which is exactly what you also did when you use to support Amico. I don't see the joke. The questions Sweet and Tender asked were absolutely reasonable and relevant. Are we really going to repeat history on AA where everyone who offers criticism/skeptism about a new Intellivision hardware project is labeled a troll by some hardcore Intellivision enthusiasts? Again, maybe learn from the past and maybe not discredit legit and fair critical takes.
  18. It doesn't matter, the same knuckleheads are still in charge of Intellivision Entertainment and if you don't think they aren't/weren't going to be involved in some way regarding other INTV hardware projects then you are being naive. Everything about these projects and how they were announced gave off a similar odor to Amico. Announcing the projects way too early, making statements that turned out to be false, using small youtube channels to talk about the project. Again, its like people haven't learned from the past. The fact is IE poisoned the Intellivision well too many times for people to just take someone's word regarding other Intellivision hardware related projects. Neither BBG or William have a track record of producing actual hardware, so going into what was said without any form of skepticism would be extremely poor judgement. That is the same flaw many people made with Tommy, giving him the benefit of the doubt simply because he had a career in the gaming industry and well look how that turned out. BBG has a history of releasing relatively low budget quality games, not plug n play consoles, let alone FPGA systems, so forgive me if I have some doubts.
  19. I'm honestly surprised that you say you are over a year into this project and didn't have any kind of concept art to share during the interview. I'm pretty sure any hardware project more than year in has concept art to show off at the very least. Also, thanks for telling me when I should stop talking about something, I remember another person who would more or less try to silence people because he didn't like hearing their criticisms about projects they were working on. Anyways, I 100% agree that any new hardware project that involves Intellivision should not be announced until these things are basically manufactured and ready to ship, as people will be rightfully skeptical of any early announcements related to new Intellivision hardware.
  20. What I don't understand is why BBG would want someone besides themselves to announce these projects, it just doesn't make sense, especially this early as well.
  21. Not wrong per say, just bad timing. I still feel it is a mistake to give anyone with no track record in hardware a platform at this time to announce any new INTV console. Just my honest opinion.
  22. I feel you and I don't have any personal issues with you or your channel. Having said that, I just felt with what has happened with Amico/INTV these past 5 yrs it was quite questionable that someone would announce (Yes I consider what was said an announcement) not 1, but 2 new INTV related console projects during a time when the Amico fiasco is still happening. It simply felt out of touch with what has been going on, even though you guys did acknowledge it in your video. I think any company looking to do something related to Intellivison IP should at least wait until the Amico stink wears out, because as you saw first hand people are not happy hearing about new projects related to INTV at this time. It is a sore subject and for good reason. You can thank Tommy Tallarico and Phil Adam for that. You did the right thing and acknowledged the interview was a mistake. I do wish you luck on your youtube channel going forward.
  23. We are not falling for this again, please let's learn from the past. Do not believe a single thing until these things are actually manufactured and ready to ship.
