Yes there are reviews out already.

Well, it'll save the few games that use EEPROM and FRAM for saving as well. But yeah if Save States is what interests you then yeah you'll need an X7 or Mega SD.
-
Battery backed saves and save states are two different things. JB does regular battery backed saves like on original hardware, but without the need for a battery. Save States on the other hand saves wherever you are in a game and then you can go back to that specific point on the fly, think NES/SNES classic systems. Yes you can return to original firmware, but using jailbreak doesn't void your warranty, so might as well just keep it.
-
1. Games will save via JB, but you need to go back to menu so it saves to SD Card before shutting off system. 2. An X5 is not necessary. If you have JB firmware its pointless. Only flash carts worth using with JB are Mega SD or X7. Mega SD offers Sega CD support and Save States for Gen while the X7 only adds Save States. Keep in mind by Save States I don't mean regular saving, but the kind of save states you see on NES/SNES Mini Classic systems.

Definitely do it. It allows Genesis, Master System, SG-1000 and Colecovision rom loading as well. Also, rom loading of GG games will be much faster via Analoge JB than that Everdrive, since that specific Everdrive uses flash memory instead of ram.
-
Why did you buy the GG Everdrive for Mega SG? You could just use the jailbreak firmware and load GG roms.
-
They said they were being manufactured like 2 weeks ago. I'm actually more interested in a possible Copy Gen/SMS so I can rip some of my saves.

Is Omni going to be 100% Opcode games or are other developers on board as well?

I'm a huge Blade Runner fan and thought 2049 was about the best we could have hoped for in a sequel. I still prefer the original, but they did a very nice job with the sequel, but its not a movie for everyone.

What I'm most surprised about is that it seems Nintendo is using the same 20nm Tegra X1 for the lite. I figured they would at least move to a 16nm die shrink of the X1 for better battery life, but looks like they are just relying on the smaller screen to boost battery life up to an extra half hour. Maybe they will move to 16nm for the Pro Switch.

$199 is a great price. And thank God they added a D-Pad. This should sell very well.

The Official NEO-GEO Thread!
SegaSnatcher replied to fdurso224's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for the reply, yeah I've been looking into many options. I actually had my eye on the Jinx consolized MVS, but unfortunately the person behind that project is no longer taking orders and who knows if he will do another batch. The reason I was hoping Analogue would release one is because of the eventual jailbreak firmware which would allow you to load roms from SD card which would save you the $400 or so the NeoSD would cost. So, people are saying positive things about that consolized MVS system from aliexpress? -
Oh I have a working C64 in pretty solid condition, just thought it would be nice if there was an option to replace some of the old worn out/yellowed breadbox cases out there with brand new Breadbox molds.

LOL, hey but it'd work.

One of my favorite games of all time. I used the 64 bit installer with great success. Truly one of the most underrated Point & Click adventure games.

Ray Carlsen releases new power supplies and adapters

What is the difference between P64 and M64? -
With the fully functioning keyboard I'm almost tempted to get one. If only you could use that case with an original C64 motherboard.

What are you playing on your PlayStation 4?
SegaSnatcher replied to Algus's topic in Sony PlayStation 4
Red Dead Redemption 2. Easily my favorite game of the modern era. I plan to play God of War soon. -
The Official NEO-GEO Thread!
SegaSnatcher replied to fdurso224's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Anyone else here hoping Analogue makes a FPGA Neo-Geo? Sure would be nice to have a quality lower cost option. I've always wanted a Neo-Geo system, but the prices for consoles/games were always out of my budget. -
No, you would need the adapter that plugs into the expansion slot of the Genesis/Mega SG for 32x CD games. Terraonion said they might release that adapter if enough demand justified it. Here's a pic of the prototype adapter.

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah seems 800XL is still the better choice for general use. You gotta love those pastel buttons on the XEGS though, reminds me of Easter lol.
-
Does the XEGS have any drawbacks over a 800XL?
-
I personally wouldn't buy one because then I'd need an OSSC and Mega Amp mod, the CDX doesn't have the best audio outpit. Also CDX is pretty expensive these days.

Retro-Bit Retro 2600 AC Adapter - causes display interference
SegaSnatcher replied to chad5200's topic in Atari 2600
Unfortunately Retro-bit has a bad reputation when it comes to their power supplies. If you want a solid PSU for your Atari 2600 then check this site out. Edit: Looks like the US plug is currently out of stock, but you can be notified when they come back in stock. https://en.retrogamesupply.com/collections/atari/products/power-supply-for-atari-2600
