  1. Yep, having PS4 BC means I'll be on board day 1. If it also gets PS2 and PS1 backwards compatibility that will just be an awesome bonus. Sony will have great momentum going into next gen.
  2. Same people saying that also didn't think this gen would see a PS4 selling 90+ million units. People like to bring up streaming as the reason why dedicated consoles will die out, but its actually why there will still be a need for dedicated consoles for the forseeable future because the infrastructure just won't be there for a long time for majority of people to make game streaming make sense. Plenty of areas have poor internet access and then you have bandwidth caps, steaming 4K gaming content will eat up your bandwith limits really fast. There are other downfalls of streaming that will just be a no go for professional players that need lag kept in check. As long as people keep buying these dedicated consoles then the big three will continue making them. Just think of streaming as another choice, not a full on replacement. It'll be good for demoing games. So, don't worry, consoles will be around for the long haul.
  3. When that day comes it will be fantastic. Stella is solid emulation for sure, I actually think the creator frequents these boards, but yeah if the goal is hopefully to go full FPGA in the future then I'll 100% be on board.
  4. I would love if At-Games improved on their Flashback 2 line that used an actual ASIC instead of software emulation. Instead of composite add HDMI out. The Flashback 2/2+ is a pretty great clone system, especially if you decide to add a cart port.
  5. The Pi 4 is gonna be a game changer now with run ahead latency.
  6. Thats really interesting. I'm obviously a huge Sega fan, but I couldn't imagine life without my NES/SNES, so many amazing games. So did you own a Saturn? It wasn't until much later did I find out how many great Saturn games there were exclusive to Japan.
  7. SegaSnatcher

    Personal Collection.

    Just some of my collection.
  8. I recently watched My Life in Gaming's documentary on M2. Well worth the watch.
  9. My personal favorites are Final Fight CD, Sonic CD, Road Avenger, Tomcat Alley, Popful Mail and of course my all time favorite SCD game, Snatcher.
  10. I sitll don't understand what this game is about, but its Kojima so its likely to be something special.
  11. Mega SD is definitely on my top list of products then maybe the Woozle GBA mod.
  12. I think one good reference would be, if it doesn't require an online connection and firmware updates it could be considered retro at this point.
  13. 1977 - 2001 Even if you don't care for retro 3D games of the PS1 - PS2 era you still owe it to yourself to own a GBA which was basically a pocketable SNES.
  14. Sure, but now with Mega SD available I doubt anyone will be willing to waste time on that kind of project. I mean unless they can sell it for a good amount cheaper than the Mega SD it seems like a waste of time.
  15. With Raspberry Pi 4 proven to handle run ahead latency reduction no problem I think Polymega needs to step up their game. I'm not on the Raspberry Pi train, but even I found that impressive and at $40 it makes the Pi a serious contender for really hardcore retro gamers that want the least amount of lag.
  16. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that ain't happening. He can try, but it will be a fruitless endevour. Its best to just leave this project in the past and move on to something that doesn't rely on existing IP. Anyways, with how long this project has been in dev who knows if it was ever going to come out, even if Nintendo never stepped in.
  17. Get yourself a Sandisk off Amazon. I have never had issues with Sandisk cards.
  18. I've never had any of the issues you described and its the first time I heard of this. If you think you got a lemon motherboard contact Analogue, they are usually good at sending out replacement motherboards.
  19. For the forseeable future TO is going to be your only choice for a Sega CD replacement for either your original Genesis or Mega SG, so either deal with the high price for a quality product, or just sit it out and enjoy your original discs. I can't wait to retire my Model 1 CD.
  20. That is the whole point of an ODE, so you don't have to deal with physical optical disc meda. If the goal is to play your CD collection then why do you want an ODE? Sorry, but I don't quite get what it is you are trying to accomplish. Just stick with your discs if that is what you prefer, no need to spend extra money to make your setup more complicated than necessary. The SD2SNES Pro was developed by Ikari just like the original and the reason it was made was because some of the components of the original SD2SNES were becoming EOL, so he was kinda forced to do a redesign. Krikzz already basically finished the design of his new Mega Everdrive X7 before TO even announced the Mega SD. He'd have to go back to the drawing board and redo his design from the ground up with Sega CD in mind and then it'll take him at least another year if not more to implement a Sega CD even if he had help. There isn't an open source Sega CD core available right now and there hasn't been any news about someone else working on a Sega CD core outside Terra Onion. Also, I can't imagine a Krikzz Sega CD ODE being much cheaper than the Mega SD. It doesn't seem Krikzz reacts to competition, for example, The Joyzz controllers are still $60 even though you can get the 8bitdo M30 2.4ghz controller for $25.
  21. Rats, looked promising, but it was expected to be honest. Nintendo doesn't play around with their IP.
  22. Okay so basically SGM2 is for those with original Coleco systems that want to save some money vs buying the standalone unit, gotcha.
