  1. Its basically finished, but Kevtris doesn't have time to create a new firmware.
  2. They don't sell that anymore and its not exactly in a form factor that I was thinking about.
  3. I question whether an Atari 2600 FPGA system would sell well enough at a premium price. I just don't think there is enough demand in the enthusiast market for it. I don't even know if adding 7800 compatibility would make much of a difference either. I'm sure I'd probably buy one, but yeah, there is a certain age demographic that likes Atari systems and they probably aren't heavy into gaming these days. I think a FPGA based C64 is the oldest system that Analogue/Kevtris could make that would potentially sell well.
  4. Nothing wrong with being hyped about possible future products.
  5. If only there was a console with HDMI out that I can use these on.......
  6. Anyone who believes they actually created all their in house emulators are fools. Don't be so damn naive, that would take a ridiculous amount of time to do given how many consoles are supported. They either are stealing emulators like Hyperkin or paid for licensing. We'll eventually find out the truth. "Hybrid Emulation" is just marketing BS. It just looks like a better built Hyperkin with a neat transforming gimmick. And even if this so called hybrid emulation actually works in that it reads the cart in real time, how is that going to benefit the user when its still just using some type of software emulation? Is this going to somehow reduce input lag, doubt it, so why even make it seem like such a big deal?
  7. It is damn close, but some bugs need to be addressed. Specifically that TG3K bug. Knowing how much of a perfectionist Kevtris is I'm sure he's going to eventually take care of that sometime in the future.
  8. RedGuy has pretty much confirmed both Kirby games seem to be working. Which are the SA-1 games I mostly care about anyways. Quote by Redguy from Discord. "I will probably miss several questions. Here's a short summary: - It's not complete. I'm still trying to fit all the dma stuff plus several other features - The kirbys work. The fishing game seems to work along with some of the others that don't use dma or interrupts extensively. smrpg works up until the level up screen which uses character conversion dma. I'm working on that now. Most other games are untested and probably broken right now. - I don't think msu will fit. Will have to check when more games work. - The 65816 is mostly implemented, but not well tested. Emulation mode is probably broken. BCD format is missing. All the weird memory addressing modes and native instructions are implemented, though."
  9. Yep, probably the main reason why he's able to get SA1 to work. Just simply implement only what the games need in order to fit on the FPGA. Perhaps most assumed including myself that you needed to implement the whole SA1 chip, which is why SA1 seemed like a pipe dream.
  10. You having a bad day? Why don't you take your attitude somewhere else buddy. I didn't claim authority, so calm yourself. I'm simply stating implementing SA1 will take some time, so don't expect beta firmware anytime soon. If it does get released sooner, awesome, but don't get your hopes up.
  11. There probably isn't enough room to implement the full SA1 chip, but since no official game uses all SA1 features its no big deal.
  12. It'll probably be a month or two before we get beta firmware.
  13. Feature wise its definitely a step below, but the actual implementation of the NES via FPGA is pretty much equal.
  14. Thats great to hear!!! Excited to see this in action.
  15. It really is going to come down to the implementation of those consoles via FPGA. We've been so spoiled with the quality of Kevtris and BunnyBoys systems that the bar has been set really high for Collectorvision. I'm all for other people bringing out FPGA consoles, but the quality needs to be in line with the best of them, or you might as well not even do it.
  16. That doesn't fix the VA7 I can assure you. Put in a Mega Amp and you will be blown away.
  17. Actually that still needs a Mega Amp hence why so many people are installing one in it. Even if you do the mod you talk about the VA7 is still being held back by its flawed audio circuitry.
  18. Thankfully there is a fix for all revisions with bad audio. The Mega Amp!!
  19. Well, technically Genesis have held up better than both the NES and SNES. No serious cart slot issues like the NES and no brittled yellow plastic that you find on a lot of SNES consoles these days.
  20. Clearly he isn't very much impressed by the Genesis library of games. I personally think it no worse than the SNES library of games overall. Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses.
  21. Well you clearly underestimate the Sega Genesis fan base, especially the hardcore fans. We've been dying for a proper clone or HDMI mod kit. The people who are satisfied with those cheap clones are casual gamers. No hardcore Genesis fan would play one of those clones and be 100% happy with their purchase.
