  1. But Analogue has never aimed at the mass market, so I don't get why you are so obsessed with that. They are boutique which means less sales, but at a more premium price because its a higher quality item. If Analogue was aiming their products to sell 500K+ units then your point would be valid, but again we are talking boutique items here that will sell much less than that. Also, I get the impression that you assume Genesis fans have lower standards than Nintendo fans and don't care as much about having a high quality experience.
  2. People interested in Analogue products aren't looking for just "good enough". I don't think you understand the market for Analogue products. They should not be placed in the same category with most clone makers because their products are vastly superior in just about every way. I don't care if there were 100 cheap Genesis clones on the market because the fact is none of them fill the needs for those looking for a high quality clone with high accuracy, feature set and build quality. There are tons of $15,000 - $20,000 cars on the market yet that doesn't stop $75,000+ cars from being sold. So again, those cheap clones aren't real compeition because they aren't targeted to the same market of gamers. Lastly, N64 isn't possible with the current FPGA prices and would take a shit long time to implement. Kevtris has already said he wouldn't want to tackle it alone. An FPGA PS1 while possible technically will be a problem because it has a BIOS.
  3. But thats the thing. Analogue products aren't for casuals or people with super tight budgets, so those cheap clones are irrelevant in regards to how well an Analogue product will sell because Analogue products are boutique for hardcore retro gamers.
  4. LOL, simply being HDMI doesn't mean jack. 1. Its using the same garbage Genesis on a Chip to simulate Genesis hardware and it does it pretty poorly. 2. The HDMI scaler in those clones are absolute garbage and most likely have added input lag. 3. There are none of the features that one could expect from an Analogue Genesis Mini. Its not at all comparable to what Analogue will release. Remember there were already HDMI SNES clones before the Super NT came out and that didn't stop the Super NT from selling out.
  5. The people who would be in the market for a Analogue Mega NT is totally different from those that are interesated in those cheap chinese clones. If anything all those shitty clones have built up a strong desire for a legit Genesis clone made by a reputable company. Sega Genesis fans are some of the most hardcore out there and would definitely pony up for a more premium experience on an HDTV. The majority of people waiting for an Analogue Genesis Mini are currently using OG Genesis/MegaDrive hardware to play Genesis games.
  6. I don't give a shi* what they call it, I'll literally pay whatever for a proper Genesis clone with HDMI out. I've been dreaming about a FPGA Genesis clone ever since the AVS and NT Mini came about and showed us how good clones can be with the right hardware and engineer behind them. I love my AVS and Super NT, but a FPGA Genesis console is the one I want most, especially if Kevtris is behind it. While playing on my Super NT I can't help but think about the potential of having a similar experience with Genesis games, its gets me so excited.
  7. LOL, between this forum and console purist page on Facebook you always try to find any excuse to post your collection lol. It reminds me of Parents who always bring out the pictures of their kids even when nobody asked them too. Not hating lol, just messing with you.
  8. You get what you pay for. I mean, I guess I could understand why a more casual gamer would buy one, but not anyone who actually has a passion for Genesis games.
  9. Honestly, at this point who here is going to waste money on said device when there is a good chance a Mega NT is already in development?
  10. If the price is reasonable and the implementation is solid I'd definitely be interested in this.
  11. What does K.I.S.S stand for? EDIT: Nevermind found out.
  12. The discord chat has been extremely fun. Reading Kevtris working on bugs and fixing them in real time is so cool. I can say I was there when Unholy Night was officially fixed.
  13. A smaller form factor PBC was officially released by Sega, but only in Pal regions I believe. Its stupid expensive. You can buy a cheaper one at Stone Age Gamer. Here is a pic of the Master System Converter ll released exclusively to Pal regions.
  14. You can always buy a Power Base Converter if you want to play real Master System carts on the Mega NT.
  15. You are such an entitled and disrespectful person. Kevtris doesn't owe anyone anything. "Get off his ass" really? The amount of time Kevtris has put into the Super NT is crazy. There are reasons he can't talk about it and if you can't figure out why then you are just being woefully ignorant. People like you are going to make Kevtris question whether all his hard work is worth it.
  16. That is incorrect. Sega CD audio passes through the expansion pins. You do not need to use the patch cable and Sega CDs RCA outs. All audio can be taken from the Genesis 3.5mm jack. So, Kevtris could simply route the digital audio just like SD2SNES MSU1 audio.
  17. Probably $500 with the stupid shipping charges.
  18. Yeah, its like that dude assumes everyone already owns a modded SNES JR.
  19. 1. I don't see a problem with an expansion port. 2. Modded SNES Jr + OSSC costs more, so no it isn't pointless. Plus, it doesn't come with rom loading or built in game genie. 3. Yeah an extra $200 cost on top of a modded SNES JR.
  20. Can someone send me an invite to the discord chat? Thanks
  21. Well at the very least update the renders to show what the transparent shells actually look like in person.
  22. So what are we talking about? 1 extra frame of lag?
  23. Because Kevtris wants ownership to his designs. 100% confident Kevtris simply licenses his FPGA cores to Analogue. Kevtris isn't going to bust his ass doing all this work just to give up ownership to his IP.
  24. Yep, Kevtris isn't about using other people's work like that. Just wanted to clarify that Kevtris has never implemented any of the chips in the 32X via FPGA.
