  1. No he didn't. He's never implemented the SH-2 CPUs via FPGA.
  2. Yep, seems like Sega gives up their licensing relatively easy these days. I'm sure Analogue could work out a decent deal. Having a bunch of Genesis games preloaded in a official capacity would be freaking amazing.
  3. FYI, you wouldn't need seperate slots for 32x and Genesis carts. Same amount of pins, hence why you don't have to remove the 32X from your Genesis anytime you want to play Genesis games.
  4. The reason why I personally think Kevtris can't implement both the 32X and Genesis via a single FPGA is simply the amount of time he's given to get his core ready. Adding 32X would probably at the very least double the amount of development time and my guess is Analogue wants to pump a new console every year. Also, it would need a bigger FPGA which might currently be cost prohibitive, but I have no idea exactly how many logic elements one would need for 32X.
  5. Yep, its the final texturing that keeps it from being true transparent. I think Analogue should consider leaving off texturing for the clear cases going forward.
  6. The $189.99 price point for the Super NT set a new standard for Analogue. I think many would be dissapointed if a Mega NT ended up costing more than the Super NT.
  7. And you think its worth it for Analogue to add the necessary components in order to play 15 possibly worthwhile games, even if that means form factor and price might be compromised?
  8. 1.Zimba 3000 most likely isn't happening and the Analogue Nt Mini has already been released, just currently out of stock. 2. No, its not open source. 3. CD compatibility was never planned. 4. Analogue.co
  9. So wait, are you saying the 2600 core in the NT Mini has input lag?
  10. Yep, that is exactly how I assumed it would work, no point in making them physical.
  11. The only thing I see stopping them from adding an expansion port to the Mega NT is the form factor. Even if they designed it for the Sega CD Model 2 the system itself would be noticeably bigger than the Super NT. I personally wouldn't care if the system was around the size of a Model 2 Genesis, but Analogue might feel differently.
  12. I've been thinking about that. I wonder if they would go the dual slot route, or to keep costs down just keep it Genesis slot only. I mean you could always purchase a PBC for it if you really want to play MS games, or if you have a Mega Everdrive it will load Master System games.
  13. I want this to happen too, but I think I read that they want to look forward and not back, meaning the NT Mini is their NES FPGA solution. I hope they reconsider making a cheaper Nt Mini. Like you said, with the Super NT's success they might end up doing it. Then again, the AVS exists, so perhaps they don't want to be direct competition.
  14. Then what do you speculate. If you think something else is likely to happen please share. I'd be interested to hear what other people think could happen.
  15. Well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out whats most likely next. Right now, literally only two options makes sense, Genesis or Neo-Geo.
  16. I do not agree. Those Pro versions don't have exclusive games being made for them, so they are still part of the current generation of consoles. They simply take existing software and scale up the resolution/framerate/visuals, but the games are still designed around the vanilla consoles.
  17. I think Sega CD support should be included via expansion slot, but I still don't understand why so many people really want 32x support to the point where it would be a deal breaker for them if it wasn't included. There are literally what like 5 good games on the 32x worth playing.
  18. You're no fun. Do you find no enjoyment out of a little fun speculation? You don't think Analogue ever considers what people are asking for around the interwebs? If they see a high demand for a Genesis you don't think they'll take that into consideration?
  19. The lowest input lag rating for a consumer HDTV is about 13ms (LG UJ6300 and 7700) PC Monitors can get as low as 8ms.
  20. I stick with the opinion that more people get into Genesis to actually play the games where as there is a lot more of a collector market for SNES for people who just like having things sitting on shelves. That is not to say there isn't a lot of people playing SNES games, but for some reason Nintendo products bring in a certain group of people who don't prioritize actually gaming.
  21. Lets be honest, those switches on the console was very inconvenient I'm pretty sure most would be happy that those switches were simply software based.
