1. It was never advertised to have built in flash cart compatibility. It was simply advertised as a high quality clone with great accuracy and low latency. 2. Kevtris probably has a contract that prevents him from talking about additional cores. 3. There is no middle finger given, you are just being an entitled baby. 4. Your loss, you won't find a better replacement for the price.

1. 32X isn't doable, but Sega CD support can happen via an expansion slot. 2. So a $200 plain SNES is OK, but not a Genesis? What is this double standard? Its almost like you don't think the Genesis is worthy of such a standalone product. I've got some news or you, there are lots of people, including myself, who prefer the Genesis over the SNES. 3. Killer RGB alone is irrelevant unless you plan to buy an expensive external scaler. Yes, I know you can by component or Scart cables for CRT/PVM use, but we are talking about hooking up to an HDTV.

Would it not be possible to simulate those switches via software? I don't think they would need to be physical.
-
Also, exhibit B for more evidence. Before Kevtris worked on the Analogue NT Mini he was simply providing Analogue his HDMI kits for their original Analogue NT that used original hardware. During this video Kevtris was asked what was next for him. Sure, this was years ago and he was talking about just HDMI mods, but it shows what he considered priorities at the time. https://youtu.be/ocpjW9tnb7w?t=2433 Also, I didn't say only 12 people on a single forum are hyped for a potential Mega NT. Go read twitter.

Analogue isn't a software gaming publisher/developer, so the same doesn't apply to them. They make very specific products for a more niche consumer base. The demand for a Genesis FPGA console is already there, so they don't have to use cheap marketing ploys to bait people only to release said product years later.
-
They could have said "We have lots of ideas for what we want to do next" and that would have been a sufficient response, but they specifically singled out Sega. There is no gain for them to bait people like that only to announce and release something completely different. I'm not aware of this common marketing ploy you speak of. Can you give examples?
-
You forgot the "Perhaps we are already working on it" line. That makes all the difference to me. Also, I'm not assuming Kevtris has actually written any code for the Genesis FPGA console yet. Just that this project has been green lit and when Kevtris is done finishing up the last remaining Super NT bugs he'll move on to the next project. I'm sure he can't wait to tackle something brand new. He must be sick of the SNES by now lol.
-
I'm merely saying lets use some common sense here. Also, I agree with your list. I would buy all those and I already own an AVS for my NES needs, but would get a Cost reduced NT Mini for its 1080p output, custom palettes and hopefully Kevtris's proprietary interpolation he came up with for the Super NT.
-
What would be the next logical system to work on after the Super NT? Why would they wait to do the Genesis system when even Kevtris said would most likely be less difficult than the Super NT was and has a bigger user base than both the Neo-Geo and TG-16 fanbase combined.
-
Never said he specifically confirmed it, just if people have a working brain it doesn't take a genius to figure out whats next for Analogue.
-
Its just fun speculation. What we can't talk about possible future products from Analogue? Sony hasn't announced the PS5, yet people are speculating over it.
-
So then why the hell even say it? That would be a dumb business move on his part and I don't think Chris Taber is a dumb man. It was an intentional wink to get people excited. I don't even know why people are even questioning the obvious. The only other option they would be doing is the Neo-Geo, but I still think Genesis is up next since he specifically singled it out. Kevtris is simply working out the last remaining bugs in the Super NT. We'll probably see 1 - 2 more firmware updates for the Super NT and then we'll be hearing less of Kevtris.
-
Spoiler alert, PS1 ain't happening anytime soon. We will be rocking Genesis and Neo-Geo systems long before a PS1 console is released if ever.
-
Analogue is looking forward. I'm not saying a cost reduced Analogue NT Mini won't happen, but it won't be their big announcement for 2018, or at least it won't be their only announcement in 2018.
-
I don't remember him specifically saying that, just that it didn't look to bad, but would still be a lot of work. So the head of Analogue specifically bringing up Sega and saying "Perhaps we are already working on it" is not enough of a hint for you? No, you are right, he just said all that as a joke to get a bunch of people hyped just to let them down when they announce their FPGA CDI system.
-
Who said Kevtris was eyeing the PS1 specifically? He was asked a question about the current limitations of FPGA tech and he said PS1 would be possible, but not much else. Of course they already know what project they have lined up next. Look at the time frame between when the Analogue NT Mini was released (Jan 2017) and when Kevtris started work on the Super NT (March 2017).
-
Ain't no way Analogue will release a console without functionality straight out of the box. Come on now.
-
You are crushing Jakir's hopes and dreams lol.
-
Why? I mean half the fun is predicting what might come out next and with that little hint from Analogue I don't think its unreasonable to assume what is Analogue's next FPGA console. Not to mention if anyone's been paying attention to people's comments across Twitter and forums like Atari Age, I'm pretty sure the majority of people are hoping the Genesis is next.
-
No offense, but can you not put two and two together? Why would the head of Analogue specifically bring up Sega when asked the question about Analogue's next project? Come on now, stop ignoring the obvious just because you really want a PS1 console. Kevtris seems excited to do lots of different consoles regardless of how successful they were, case in point Game King.
-
"0 Proof" you say? http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/02/analogues_christopher_taber_opens_up_on_the_super_nt_and_future_projects
-
If thats your logic then they should have done the PS1 before the Super NT, but they didn't. PS1 might happen sometime down the road, but I can tell you with 99.9% certainty its not the next thing they will be working on. Genesis and Neo-Geo will happen before a PS1.
-
Kevtris just said PS1 is possible with current technology, no hint that is what is up next. Genesis is the next logical step. Might as well crank out the remaining 16 bit consoles that are left since the time it would take to implement a PS1 via FPGA would be a magnitude higher than any previous console Kevtris has worked on. This way when the time comes to pursue a PS1 clone console, they will have a good range of products available. I still question if they will even do a PS1 console since they would have to add a CD Rom drive and I don't know if that is a route they want to go down.
-
Analogue strongly hinted they are working on Genesis next, then it will most likely be Neo-Geo. I guestion how PS1 will work unless they will include a CD Rom drive. I doubt they would release a console that is advertised to run ISOs.

Damn, I guess they really don't want DarkSoft to be a competitor lol. Seems like the best worlds to be honest. 3 games that can always be ready on the fly while 1 slot is ram based to load whatever game you want within a matter of seconds. EDIT: Perhaps not, DarkSoft's Flash Cart will still have the price advantage for a Ram based solution and I believe it still loads game noticeably quicker.
