  1. Will there be a webcam pointed at him all the whole time?? That would be uber cool to check in on!
  2. Without schematics..does anyone know which chips are involved in the audio circuit?
  3. If you put a credit on the machine does a game start? Do you have the schematics for the game and the monitor? Have you checked for the correct voltages at the power supply? Have you pulled the game boards and visually inspected them ?
  4. So he should check both. Could be a bad chip or socket or a chip not getting correct voltage because of another problem. I've fixed several machines this way. Hows the repair going masschamber??
  5. I'm only going by what has worked for me, and if he has checked any of the links provided he should have more than enough info to fix it. Besides, checking for voltages will help identify problems. I just assumed he would start with the powersupply and work through the AR board.
  6. Check the newsgroups rec.games.video.arcade rec.games.video.arcade.collecting rec.games.video.arcade.marketplace or check with ElektronForge They made me a new set of Roms for my Lunar Lander.
  7. OK first things first on the repair. 1) check for correct voltages at various test points on the main board. The schematics should tell you what to look for. 2) Check all connections and and solder joints. Look for loose or dirty contacts on the harness. 3) REPLACE the Big blue cap in the power supply with one of Bob Roberts replacements. You will be glad you did. 4)Reseat all the socketed chips. Carefully remove them with a chip pulling tool and VERY LIGHTLY and gently clean the legs.
  8. Check the newsgroups for feedback on these guys. Google has access to news servers now. You can set up a free account. Look for: rec . games . video . arcade rec . games . video . arcade . collecting rec . games . video . arcade . marketplace
  9. Hmm ... There is a finger size hole in the paper part of the speaker. But so I hooked up a known good speaker and the result is the same. Its like the sound output is not being amplified.
  10. I have a 1942 that has barely audible sound. I can turn the volume up and down but you can't hear it unless you put your head up to the speaker. Anyone have any suggestions? I can't find any schematics for the boards. Thanks!
  11. http://www.therealbobroberts.com/ Go here for the parts you need. Now where are you located again???
  12. hmmm Well I apologize for doubting the existance of the game. Next time I'll check KLOV before opening my big mouth. I still think this is a hoax though (prototype)or else the guy would have posted pics by now.
  13. Check your ground wires and make sure the contacts are clean and tight. Especially check the coin door wires. It could be a kinked wire causing a short. Clean all the contacts on th boards and the connectors. Have you verified your are getting correct voltages and that they aren't just a tad too low? Happy Hunting!
  14. Yeah if this is legit, then post some pics. Whats the name of the game? The only video/pin game I can recall was Pac Jr, and that wasn't atari. So lets see this supposed prototype.
  15. I got threee more friends joining me at the auction tomorrow. See ya there!
