Here is a sample of some of the international fonts that will be included in the release of LW3: LW3___International_Font_Sampler.zip Any comments/suggestions/criticisms are welcome, as I have no personal experience with their practical use. If there are any specific language fonts that anyone would like to see (i.e.: czech, polish) let me know about that also.

Both PM'd - thanks Paul. You know, I think I just figured out why I can't get my version 2 cart working on my Ataris. I was just messing with it again in Atari800WinPlus and I was getting disk read errors when clicking on the "Drive A" icon. On a whim I switched over to NTSC mode and it works fine. Seemingly there are NTSC and PAL versions of the cart, and I have the NTSC one. Don't ask me where from... I can't remember if it was here or XL Search. I've mentioned the PAL/NTSC issues to Curt and Alan. I'd seriously like to write some apps for Diamond. I think it was the best crack at a GUI on the Atari. With all the hardware upgrades we have now, the proliferation of SpartaDOS X, 320K machines the norm, and cheap, fast, unlimited disk storage, I think we could revive this product (on a hobbyist basis, of course). Carts were awful expensive in the old days, and this, coupled with a lack of third-party apps and the dominance of unexpanded machines back in the day, surely did the product no favours. ...been testing more with two different versions of the ROM: all of a sudden, both read disks in PAL mode. I'm confused now! I'll try the Maxflash cart in the new stock 130XE. Could be that you have a corrupt config disk. Here's what I'm using: Diamond.zip The "Diamond Startup" disk is just a copy of the utilities disk that is configured for my setup. I didn't want to corrupt the original. These seem to be working fine for me, though I'm just using in emulation.

Perhaps you could contact him directly? Maybe they can put all their very old stuff on their website He was actually here a few years ago. He made an appearance in this thread: Diamond Operating System It seems that Curt Vendel supposedly has a complete collection of Diamond software, from direct contact with Alan. However he only references up to version 2.1 of the operating system (however, just from recollection). I'm sure contacting either one of them would be the best thing to do.

Hmmm... It may be true... I haven't used gimp enough to make a fair comparison. However, I do use photoshop frequently for working with images to be displayed on the atari and for editing in graph2font, and I don't find anything particularly difficult to do. Can you point me to some particular features that are easier in gimp for converting to atari format? As far as the indexed color conversion goes, it looks to be just about the same difficulty in both apps... although I would give photoshop the edge, as there are more options for doing it and you get image preview while setting your options. BTW, looking at gimp fairly quickly, I don't see any way of changing pixel aspect ratio. (i.e.: a single pixel is twice as wide as it is high) Can this be done in gimp?

Same thing can be done in photoshop...

GTIA 11-Graphics 0 question
MrFish replied to Synthpopalooza's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
Have you seen the font editor "Macro Edit" before? It allows editing in all three GTIA modes. Just thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't heard of it before. Thanks for the info, where can I find it? Macro_Edit.zip -

Pretty cool for 1k. Any chance of a deluxe version? LOL, yes... I'm planning to create deluxe version (had u read my mind?). But dunno yet if I recreate all gfx (probably not), but gameplay is going to be extended for sure. Games like this increase 'mind reading' abilities... so yes, i was reading your mind. I think the gameplay is good having the timer the way it is. Question: Am I given a higher point score when I make a match with more time left on the timer, or is it the same no matter how much time I take?

Never heard of it, but must be an amazing DOS. It won first place in the ABBUC 2008 Software Contest (See post #39 for results announcement). A compact, capable DOS... with YASH adding to it's popularity. There was some contention about its placement in the contest...

How can i see some of the other game screens (shown above)? Do I have to pass one level to the next? Everything looks cool, except the masking still makes it look rough. Ever think of using PMs for the protagonist?

Weird... I just found out that if you wait long enough on A8 Gauntlet, the walls turn into the portals for the next level.

Marble Madness images look great. I'm not a big fan of the game, but it would definitely be cool to see this on the 2600. Really good job.

Midi Maze... have a nice day!

Not as good as Encounter either, but another Battlezone type game is: Assault Force More colorful than Battlezone. I wonder what the framerate is like on the original hardware (this is a hack by fandal).

Looks good! Interestingly enough, I like the square pinball graphic. It looks kind of humorous watching it bounce around. Maybe you could make a version, "Pinball for Squares". haha...

Wrathchild was working WCL. There is a thread about it here somewhere... Here is that binary that I got from there: WCL.zip Use any console key to switch back and forth from overhead to normal view.

It's being worked on by Dutchman2000. Tempest The original programmer does NOT want to be contacted at this time. Would he reconsider for a scooby snack? hahahaha... LOL
