  1. I picked up a light sixer with some boxed games over the weekend. It was more the games I was after but when testing the console I noticed a few graphic and logic issues on a few of the games. For example, Video Checkers showed no pieces on the board, Video Chess seemed to act odd when I tried to move a piece (ie moved a pawn and it cycled its appearance through knight, queen etc as I pressed the fire button) and 3D Tic-Tac-Toe seemed to let me keep taking my turn and the computer never placed a counter. As an example I've incluuded a photo of Video chess when it starts on the light sixer versus what it looks like on my woody 4 switch model where the checker pieces obviously appear. I'm not overly technical as regards electronics, soldering and all that side of things but was just curious if anybody could tell me the likely cause of these issues? For a few games, Jr Pacman as an example, things seem to work fine and its actually a very nice stable picture with much less interference than some of my other old Atari consoles. Anyway, doubt I would ever use the light sixer much and it will just sit on a shelf as a display unit as it is a very clean and nice example of the console however I wondered if the problems may be an easy fix or a sign of more serious TLC being needed to get it back to full working condition.
  2. Can anybody tell me was the G7000 ever released in Australia? I had one when I was probably about 10 years old and living in the UK.... a lifetime ago.... and was searching around to buy one to fill a gap in my mid life crisis of collecting all my old toys! My understanding was this only came out as a G7000 in the UK/Europe and suspected I would have to get one imported in however I have found someone selling one in Australia in near new condition that has been sitting in storage for the last 40 years or so and oddly it comes with an Australian power lead still sealed in the box.... the outer box also has a price sticker of $99.99 that looks to be when it would have been originally sold here. Unfortunately not fully complete as no manual or instructions but just something seems odd... wish I could find out more history on it but unfortunately it was from a deceased estate so I don't think I'll get a full understanding of how it came to be here, but just wondered if anybody knows the G7000s general history in Australia?
  3. I have lived in Australia for over 20 years but still have family back in the UK so occasionally buy things on UK ebay and get them sent over to Australia. My Mother always refuses to let me pay for postage so lets just say UK to Australia is free post for me. Although I can pick up an Atari 2600 in Australia I've been noticing there is more choice and a better chance to pick up an old boxed one like I remember having years ago from Ebay UK than Ebay Australia. My only concern is if I got one shipped over from the UK does anybody know if I would be able to easily tune it in on an old CRT tv that I have here in Australia for my retro consoles or whether it will be a pain in my backside? I've tried googling this but unless I am asking the wrong thing I am finding it hard to get a definitive answer or see anybody share their experience with this. There are some AV modded options on Ebay Australia I could alternatively pick up to avoid these issues but these are seldom boxed and usually more expensive so just trying to toss up my options between picking up a modded AV one here or going more pure old school and getting one like I had in my UK childhood. Anybody able to help?
  4. I'm selling my Atari 2600 with 128 in built games. I believe these were only released for a limit period in Australia during the early 1990s. My auction is at:- http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...E:IT&ih=013 For more details on this item see the Atariage article at: http://www.atariage.com/2600/archives/128i...l?SystemID=2600 Willing to post worldwide and accept paypal for international bidders. Good luck if you want it! Wuggle
  5. Unfortunately it isn't boxed but, thanks to the guy before for the ebay auction link... how did I not find that! Although admittedly I was probably searching for slightly different descriptions. Anyway, will watch that with interest. Thanks again. Wuggle
  6. Hi, A few years ago I was very much into collecting old consoles but the time has come where I need to clear some stuff out. One of the more interesting Atari items in my cupboard is a 128 in 1 Atari 2600 that I picked up unknowingly from a local Australian boot sale. I had no idea it was a 128 in 1 version of the Atari until I got it home and discovered it was a little bit different to the norm! In fact I never even knew there was such a thing until that point in time! However, as I have 101 other toys to play with, the atari as sat in my cupboard for these last few years unloved and I wonder if I should sell it although, given its oddity, I'm reluctant to part with it if it is only worth a few dollars... Unfortunately I cannot see one being sold on Ebay recently so I have absolutely no idea if it is worth anything or not.... and as I say, I'd hate to put it on ebay and it sell for like $5! It is in perfect working order. So I therefore came back to this forum in the hope some atari guru here could suggest a value so I can decided whether to keep or sell? Thanks! Wuggle
