  1. That is the same problem I have had, and have found no solution so far!
  2. Check out this article: http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/04/student...at-analog-gami/ It appears that people are coming at this from both ends! Here we are, excited about all the mods that give S-video output, and it turns out we've been doing it all wrong!
  3. The most interesting thing I have found was an oooooold elementary school library card folded up inside a cart. I am assuming it was put there to keep the board from rattling.
  4. Um, you realize this game was made for the 2600 right?
  5. Ok, I understand that all that is required is making the label and sending it out. But, since only about 6 people are signed on so far, and I don't have the contact info for any of them, it might require a little more than "Design a F*!#ING label. Make 20. Give to people. Have fun." before I can send anyone my labels....why don't you not jump all over people for trying to keep the thread alive so more people can see it and potentially join.
  6. Is this still on? What is the word?!
  7. Ok, this is ungodly blurry, but all I have right now is my phone camera. The Red is actually not attached at the moment, but had been on pin 20 of the TIA. And the pins connected Grey, White, Orange and Brown wires are bent up.
  8. Not trying to derail the conversation, but I still am not getting anything...I looked at Ben Heck's page, and it looked like he wired his up differently...I am going to take pics of my board when I get home and post them so everyone can see exactly what I am talking about. Also, I am gonna take it to my friends house and try it on his TV, though if I can't get it to work with my TV, it will be a huge bummer.
  9. UPDATE: I have all the wires running directly to the TIA chip. Everything is fine - with Parker Brothers titles. But, only Parker Brothers, and even then only about 80% of the time. I had been using Frogger to test it this whole time which I finally got to play. And it wasn't until I went to put in Pitfall to make sure all the colors looked good that I realized: Every other game I try gives me nothing but a black screen...I don't quite get it. unless there is some slight variance in resistance due to where I have everything attached, and the Parker Brothers games aren't affected by it as much. Does anyone have any ideas? I am more than happy to move any of my connections to some other place, they just weren't working in the places marked on the diagram...(at least I had them where I THINK they should have been)
  10. OK. Almost there. I think some of my connections on the chip are a little less than solid, but I got it running. I do get a kind of slow rolling color variation that travels across the screen, and it could use a boost to the brightness. I'll touch it up and see what we get.
  11. Ok, I moved everything directly to the pins on the TIA. I am still getting nothing. And, now if I hook up the old single RCA it just flips to a black screen... waitttt a second, i just thought of something. But, feel free to shoot me ideas in the meantime!
  12. That didn't work. All I am getting is a black screen w/ no sound. RCA is the same. If I hook up the old single RCA cable I am getting a black and white image and a hum from the speakers. Maybe that's a clue as to exactly what is connected to the wrong place? Maybe I could do it all straight off the chip also...I'll try it.
  13. Awesome thanks, I'll try it when I get home!
  14. I got my mod in the mail yesterday, and almost have the whole thing installed, but I have run into a weird problem. I am modding a socketed 4-Switch console, but it is different than the on in the tutorial... Look at the resistors on the far left in this picture, specifically the one you are supposed to remove and solder the brown wire to: That resistor is not there on my board. there aren't even holes where one COULD be there (the red oval). Instead I have a resistor just above that spot in the empty space on the top row (the red square). Is that where I should connect the brown wire? If not I guess it will be trial and error. Can anyone tell e if that could be dangerous for my hardware?
  15. There's one for sale near me on craigslist, in the box. Don't know how much shipping would be though.
  16. I found a Parker Brothers template on here somewhere. I am not sure if it prints at the actual dimensions, but it is pretty high res. You could play with it on some test paper first. You should make a label for a PB game for the A#3 FLC!
  17. Same here, I'll look over duplicates I get in lots and pick out the "nicer" one, but other than that I'm fine with just having a copy. That said, I won't buy a game if the label is TOO messed up.
  18. 159 unique 2600 games. 160 if you count the supercharger as a game... about 40 dupes I can't seem to get rid of and about 6 dead carts. One of those is H.E.R.O. too....I was upset when I got that one in the mail!
  19. Oh sweet! he really loved it too! Nice work!
  20. Got any pics of the actual board setup? I know you said it looks a mess, just curious though.
  21. Ahh, the internet and depression combine to create wonders. I still want to know how/where/when these games were sold, does no one remember!? It wasn't that long ago, the creators/distributors should still be alive, and the people who owned it should be as well, and a good possibility that their parents are too! I mean we have an example here in front of us. Hmm, seems like I just told myself where to look... Boognish, any idea where this game was bought?
  22. - The Emperor is coming here?! - Yes Commander, and he is most displeased with your apparent lack of progress. - We shall double our efforts! - I hope so Commander, for your sake, the Emperor is not as forgiving as I am. point of story: WE NEED MORE MEN!
  23. Seeing as how the NTSC Gamex version of this game is insanely expensive, I was wondering if any of our Brazilian forum members could help me get a PAL-M copy of this game. I know it is alot less rare there, but none of the vendors on MercadoLivre will ship outside of Brazil. Thanks in advance! (Vou tentar falar Português, mas não estou bem.)
  24. I mean "Atari" is a Japanese word, so I see no real significance in the fact that "Mirai" is a Japanese word also...doesn't strike me as very conclusive.
