I just saw that auction and thought it looked like it was in TOO good of shape to be legit...I could be wrong though, they are also listing Boing! loose and that cartridge looks authentic. How can you be sure? Especially if you are gonna even think about dropping that kind of money?

Could an LP or wax cylinder hold a supercharger game?

Good Lord that is the best idea I have heard of in a while!! Someone needs to get on this! -
I am pretty sure that grease is how it came from the factory. Every classic joystick I've ever opened up that used that style contact system had a bunch of grease all over the contacts.

Thanks for the heads up! It does seem like a much cheaper option, with only mild aesthetic differences. My only concern is that I've held one of those things before and that base was pretty uncomfortable. I couldn't get it in a position that felt right.

you think that could be modified to fit in a CX-40?

Yes, I know about the original radio frequency wireless joysticks, but I was hoping for something a bit more sleek. And I have no experience with micro-controllers or anything like that. But, if I can get a console set up with one of the sweet s-video mods and some wireless joysticks, I think I could get my Atari a little more respect in the living room alongside my roommates PS3, Wii and Xbox 360!

I am really interested in finding/building/collaborating on/funding a wireless joystick mod for my 2600. I have done a lot of searching and have only found these two projects. Neither of which look like something I am electronically capable of doing on my own. A bulky looking german one A more promising looking one I was wondering if anyone here has tried or would be interested in trying to create a mod/hack project like this. My perfect imagining of this mod would have a transmitter and battery fully contained in the original controller housing, with a dongle that plugs into the joystick port on the console. Anybody have any ideas, or experience with this?

Hi just looking at some auctions on ebay and wondering if anyone can help me identify these two controllers. Brand? Intended system? Rarity? Qality? The ones i'm referring to are the 2 thin ones in the front of the pic with rectangular buttons. Thanks, Josh M.
