  1. oh no! that should not happen. I need to look into this and fix it. Thanks for the info!
  2. just type [CTRL] für "Ü" and CTRL A for Ä and CTRL O for Ö it says so directly above the line where you enter the destination.
  3. holybeejeezus! 14 minutes! OK, your strategy clearly works. At a certain point the time intervals don't get shorter, and I thought that is fast enough. Obviously not fast eneough for some gamers... ? Or the Florida Flamingos in Miami are sturdier than other Flamingos elsewhere. Maybe they take something to stay awake longer Let's call Miami Vice to inquire. I wish I could do such cool music like the Miami Vice theme as title music. But my music knowledge is soooo limited, it even took me a while to copy the Brahms notes into something the ATARI could work with.
  4. - this is definitely not the right strategy ?. What is you highscore? -blinks: have to look into that. -Time/NTSC: probably not, as I did it in PAL. To be honest, no idea how to do that.
  5. Hi folks, here is my second entry to the 2020 ABBUC software contest. Have fun keeping the flamingos on their legs! Best, Florian PS I am curious how long you can keep the flamingos on their feet. Please post your highscores. FLAMINGO.atr
  6. such a BEAUTIFUL design! PCBs are usually rectangular, with perpendicular lines. And now, ladies and gentlemen, bow deep down and see this beautyful MultiJoy HUB! Applause to the designer! It is even more astonishing, as he only started to learn PCB-CAD (which is difficult enough). Keep on the good work!
  7. Here is the download for Agent B.R.D. for all those who didnt recieve it as ABBUC members on the quarterly disk. The competition is over, Agent B.R.D. made it rank 3! Thank you to all voters supporting my game. for a translation of the text on the screens visible in the game, please look above in entry #9. AGENTBRD.atr
  8. More news. Here is the Reference Card for the game. (finally I found a perfect use for this fanfold postcard paper ?)
  9. …and I wondered why I have soooo many copies of the game "LEFT CARTRIDGE"
  10. Hello Yautja, the translation to Spanish is already done, thank you for your offer. Update: DE, NL, FR, ES, IT, RU, PL, CZ: all done and completed. Final layout of the booklet:
  11. very very very addictive game! OK, just one more try...
  12. an absolute beautyful piece of software! the background picture is epic! and to hear it was written in (FAST) BASIC astonishes me even more. Yeeez, what power this 40+ year old machine has!
  13. "Agent BRD" was written in Action!, too. As well as "Flagging Flamingos". And my last year entry "Full House Poker".
  14. Update! Secret service intelligence reports state that I now have support for the following languages (besides the completed DE, NL, PL, FR): Czech/CZ (complete) Russian/RU (complete) Italian/IT (in the making) Spanish/ES (in the making) Any other volunteers/languages? There are still some pages left in the booklet!
  15. for all those English speaking folks who can't wait: here's the TELEX in English. Please bear in mind I cannot publish the game to wider public before the end of the ABBUC software contest (mid November). All the ABBUC members should receive (or already have received) a copy of all the contest entries (including mine) with the quarterly magazine. All the others have to wait. But look at it in a positive way ?! It isn't vaporware, it does exist, and the publishing date is fixed(!). Agent BRD Telex EN.pdf
  16. thank you for your offer, but Dutch is already completed with the help of a friendly Dutch ATARI fan. DE, NL, PL, FR: done and completed Russian is currently being translated Spanish: request for support sent out Czech: request for support sent out
  17. if you wonder: "how can I play a game in German language?!" Don't worry! You are Agent BRD. Or one of his comrades or allied friends. Secret agents have little books with translations. So does Agent BRD! This tiny book, cleverly disguised as "Cookie receipe book" contains all texts from the game (except the city names) translated to: English, French, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Czech, Spanish) Sometimes the translation might be a bit rough, but it works. [I only found two helpers who checked the translations for Dutch and Polish] the book is authentic shabby style: rough cardbord back, recycling paper, and written with a typewriter. 7,5cm x 10,5cm, a size easy to hide from curious eyes.
  18. almost everything is available on ebay! just bought a spare hinge (new part) for my Samsung C460FW copier, scanner, fax, colorlaserprinter. Only 12EUR. Nw the machine works again like new. or a new ball bearing for my blender. only 2,80 EUR (that included shipping!)
  19. TELEX (yes, the secret service is on a budget an still has to use old technology) with task order for Agent BRD. btw: that's real TELEX paper with 4 carbon copies. had to set my printer to "full force" at the print head setting so the 4th cc came out readable.
  20. proper agents need cool looking and real ID cards. Here's Agent BRD's:
  21. the villain - meet the evil smartphone!
  22. Who? It's Agent USA's little cousin. This time he wears a baseball cap. And the action takes place in Germany (BRD=German Abbreviation of FRG=Federal Republic of Germany). He has to collect Wi-Fi symbols and battery power to feed his mobile phone. And the villain ... is not a mad TV-set as back then in the 80's (when TV was the menace to youth) but ... a crazy smartphone! 127 cities to visit, 2 train types to ride, infobooths, your own mobile phone giving away hints where the villain is (provided you have network connection - not always the case in rural areas...) Stand by more more info on the game which is to be released soon - it's an entry to the ABBUC software contest, therefore I can't release the game yet, but give you some teasers! And not only the game is to come, but also a collectors edition. Colorful box, disk, printed 4c instruction booklet, ID card, a tiny secret translation booklet (not every agent speaks German...but with this booklet he will be able to play the game), map and possibly more gadgets.
  23. I remember handing in a biology report in 1987/88, done with ATARI Writer. Left some empty lines here and there in the text for the pictures and diagrams to be either glued in or drawn in later (!!!). Teacher accepted it without any complaints; I think she was even impressed how far with technology some students were (hahaha!). Our school back then had 6 Apple II Clones, and a year later, 20 or so IBM PCs. Topic was "The Ozone Hole over the Antarctica", big thing back then (and still, besides other nasty thing like global warming). Most other student had their reports handwritter or meticulosly typed on a typewriter. Lucky me, with an 600XL, 64K, ATARI Writer and a 9pin printer! If anyone would've told me that my job would end up in uncountable Powerpoint presentations per week (btw: I love to speak to/teach people), using MS teams (WTF is that, from a 1988 perspective?!) daily dozens of times, I would not believed him. I am an architect, working as Head of QM (that ISO 9001 stuff) in an engineering company operating worldwide. And I love it!
  24. other norms here. A4 paper (297mm x 210mm), 2 hole (80mm apart) or 4 hole (80-80-80 apart). And thats it, nothing else beside it. I guess you would struggle finding a 4 ring binder 80-80-80 or a dual hole puncher 80mm, as 8x11 and 3 hole is your standard. Or do you have both systems?
  25. and for the "reference cards" lying next to my computer, I did this: DIN A5 size, laminated, wire-bound. Doesn't take much space, can be "back-folded-over", won't tear, can make notes with erasable pen on it. Action!, error codes, XDOS, TURBO DOS, freezer, QMEG, SIO2USB, assembler stuff, programmers card, POKEY, ANTIC, DLI, VBI, controllers, keyboard, chars list, color chart, ...
