Iirc, it'll blink when the cables aren't plugged in. It may still be in working order. I picked up one from goodwill a few months back. It works, but looks like the internal battery is shot since it won't save the time and date. My goodwill has games from time to time as well.

But but frat boys rabble rabble... The hate for golden tee amazes me. It's a blast with a few beers in you. Look at it this way. Golden tee appeals to a much larger audience. People who aren't video game people still know golden tee and may very well buy one of these things. It could potentially be the best selling 1up cabinet to date. And the more they sell, the more likely it is you'll more obscure games released.

Mad Planets, imo, the best game no one's ever heard of.

They don't need any fortifying. They are sturdy enough for home use.

The good thing about these old consoles is that when they need a cap job, there's not a ton of electrolytics in them to replace. Edit: Actually, I take that back. I forgot which sub forum i was in. Vectrex is a different beast.

My overlay arrived today. The fitment is shit. The colors are washed out compared to the original. At least it's protected i guess.

By friend had to call to get a replacement monitor for his 12 in 1. They're also making him ship the old one back, albeit after he receives the new one.

Just got the Sean Kelly vectrex multi cart V3.0 that i ordered to replace the V2.5 that i had.

Szabo does great work, bit you'd need an art file to send him. I don't think he'd custom make anything.

Had some time over the holiday to work in this thing some more. Put on done green t-molding and started on the backlit marquee. Need to finish the molding around the controls and get some brackets for the marquee yet. For those wondering, I'm up to about 30 bucks on this project.

I didn't play asteroids. I attempted to play tempest and it didn't go well. It's a shame, I'd probably buy the asteroids cabinet just for tempest and major havoc if the spinner wasn't such a turd.

I think it depends on which machine you buy. My Centipede plays pretty well. The track ball needed some lubricating, but other than that it's been good. I played an asteroids at Wal-Mart and it was almost unplayable because of the God awful spinner.

I'd love to know how much they're spending on replacement parts

Actually, I was wrong. The side art on mine at least is a clear laminated paper sticker. I had to peel about a 1" strip off the bottom. Anyways, here's a shot of where I'm at with this:

It's vinyl, man. It stretches when you pull on it.
