  1. You'll make a profit, but I don't think it'll be like it was with 360 at launch. I saw plenty of Premiums 360s selling for over $800 back then. I don't think too many PS3s would sell for over double the price. $1,200 plus is at the insane point.

  2. Does anyone know of a way to get the 360 to work with a dlink or linksys wireless gaming adapter? I already have those and don't wont to purchase the overpriced 360 wireless adapter. They both work fine on my XBOX and PS2 but when I tried hooking them up to the 360 it was no go. It (the 360) sees the network as wired but fails to get an IP address from the router. Did MS intentionally cripple the system to not allow these to be used in order to sell their product? Is there some kinda work-around? Currenlty I can only get online by wiring it directly to my router.

Get the info from a PC hooked into the router and manually input it into the 360. Get all that info by hitting the start button in XP, then Run. Then type CMD. When the DOS prompt comes up type "ipconfig/all". You should be able to get online with the 360 hooked into the router.

  3. I'm doing ok with hard drive space. I have 10 demos, 5 trailers, and ripped 9 CDs to the hard drive and I still have 4GB free. I don't it for anything else other than game saves. I also agree there is very little point buying in OXM now. What do you guys who are running out of space have on your HDDs?

I haven't run out yet (I have 8 arcade games, and 7 demos) but with 7 gigs left and the demos being 600mb up to 1.25 gig each it won't take long. :(

What demo is 1.25GB? Most demos are around 600MB. My largest and smallest demos are my most recently downloaded ones. MotoGP is 882MB and Lost Planet is on 305MB. I wouldn't get worried until I dropped below the 2GB free mark.

    Project gotham 3. ;)

Oh ok. I downloaded that a while ago, but deleted it. I bought the game. :)

  4. I don't think DVD and Blu-ray are the same comparison at all. Almost everyone wanted a DVD player if they didn't have already back in 2000. That's just not the case today for these reasons:

-Few people are looking to upgrade from their cheap DVD players anytime soon.

-Most people today don't even know what Blu-ray is.

-HD-DVD is probably going to be the next dominant media anyway since the general public isn't that tech savy and the term HD-DVD makes a lot more sense to them than Blu-ray.

-Blu-ray players look to be most expensive than HD-DVD players.

Lastly, Betamax was a superior format to VHS like BD appears to be and we all saw how that turned out. It's the average consumer and casual gamer that really drives these industries and not the hardcore super well informed techy types.

  6. Would you people stop it! I have bills to pay! Stop selling me a 360. Please, I need to eat too.

E3 demos at home the week of E3; that is the greatest thing anyone ever offered, ever.

Heh, I agree. I've been holding off on a 360, but Oblivion came out, Live Arcade is getting more and more games, now all these free demos and trailers... so... hard... to... resist... I'm a sucker for trailers.

Oh no, and EB has a special. They'll give you $100 towards a 360 if you trade your Xbox. I could get the premium for the price of the core, and most of my favorite Xbox games are on the backwards compatability list anyway (but where's Doom 3?). And I just watched all the new 360 trailers at Gamespot. Will to resist fading...

Keep your Xbox, softmod it and save for a 360. Some of the BC is a bit flakely and few things beat a modded Xbox.

  7. I was pretty dead set on getting a PS3 until I heard price price. Now I'm not so sure. I love my 360, Wii looks cool and $600 is a lot of money for a console. It screams of Sony's extreme arrongance. I've been a big Sony fan for a long time, but I hope they crash and burn on this one. 1st they forced UMD videos down PSP buyers throats. Now it's Blu-ray with PS3.

  9. So do you have to pay fro the demos or are the free? If they are free that's pretty damn awesome.

They are free and it is quite awesome! Live is worth the $50 a year alone just for demos alone, but it's a whole lot more than just demos.

$50 a year? No way. I paid like $42 (plus shipping) for the 12 month kit off ebay. It included a year of Live, a head set (19.99 retail), $20 off the purchase of a game (My Oblivion Collectors cost me 49.99 with that rebate) , A free $10 game off Arcade, and 200 Live points! The way I see it I bought a headset and a $20 off coupon and I got a year on Live free, a free Arcade game (Billiards) and free 200 points.

Then I turned around got the 3 month kit off ebay for like $20 and got another headset, another free game (Joust) more free points and another $10 off coupon. (LOL)

Live can be free if you do it right!!!

But yeah even if you did pay...the demo's are free, you can get free upgrades on games (more cars in racing games, different maps and skins and sound FX in other game etc...) I'm telling you I'm totally loving the LIVE...and to think I never hooked up my Xbox because I figured it would suck.

I didn't pay anything for Live myself. My wife did pay full price for it though. It was one of my b-day presents from her. I boought a Core back in January so she gave me the Live kit, a hard drive and the wireless adapter for my b-birthday a couple of month after. I save plenty when I buy games anyway. I just picked up Full Auto and Ghost Recon for $60 together yesterday from CD Warehouse. They were used, but still a good deal. You never know what they'll have, but being in Atlanta you should check them out sometime if you're like me and don't mind used games. My 360 library is up to 15 games now with me paying full new price just 2 times.

  11. Yeah I have. It's kind of like windows media player on a much bigger screen. It doesn't do that much for me since I'm usually doing other stuff when I play music in my house. I think it could be cool for a social get together. However, I love being able to rip CDs to the hard drive and having custom tracks for any game I want.

  12. I may wind up getting this, I still have one more $20 rebate coupon from the Xbox Live Gold Kit that needs to be used up by June.

Did you ever end up grabbing it? If not, it's $49.99 this week at Circuit City.

I wound up pre-ordering Guild Wars Factions.

I heard Tomb Raider game can be beat in like 8 hours. I think this is the perfect rental candidate....unless I come across a copy for $30 or less.

Since I often buy used games I decided to pick it up at Best Buy with the $49.99 price match. I'm going to use my $20 rebate that came with my Live kit. So I will have essentially bought the game for $30.

  13. The last time I went to the dentist, digital images of my two front teeth (and their root canals) were projected into the Harkins Theater by an Xbox 360.

What really hurt was when the doc shoved a GameBoy Classic into my mouth and told me to bite down while he shot X Rays with some device that looked like an arcade Virtua Cop 2 cabinet. That GB classic plastic is soo crunchy!

  14. I have 2 PSPs so I don't care that much about the updates. My 1.5 PSP will never be updated. I'll update my 2.6 when there's a game that I really want to play forces me too, since I still like homebrew via GTA. If you have a 2.0 or 1.5 I don't see the point in updating unless you want to play the newest games ASP, because it seems every game is everytually playable on 1.5 firmware. In fact I'm thinking about selling my 2.6 now.
