Slim PS2 import mod options
dalton4life replied to Cassidy Nolen's topic in Modern Console Discussion
But he said PS1 stuff. Swap magic doesn't work with PS1 games. -
Slim PS2 import mod options
dalton4life replied to Cassidy Nolen's topic in Modern Console Discussion
There is the memory card exploit but I don't know how to get it on the memory card without swap disc or mod chip. I heard the exploit could be installed with a Action Replay but I never tried it. I think any disc method including AR would require some type of case modding. Breaker Pro and a flip top case mod worked for me. -

Is a NES RF plug compatible with 1st Sega Genesis?
dalton4life replied to dalton4life's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for a feedback guys. I know a pawn shop that has 2 big boxes full of various loose plugs and apapters for mostly video game systems. I picked a NES power supply a week ago for $2. I'll give them a try and see what happens. -

OK thanks. I guess this Genny is bad. Win some, lose some. -
PSP now has at least 250 UMD format movies
dalton4life replied to Xizer's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Well that's what I was saying. I could see the DS having a loyal fanbase while the PSP becomes the more mainstream handleheld once the prices comes down. Still I also remember hearing the NS was never meant to be the successor the Gameboy. As a bonus PSP can play new games and do emulation as long as your firmware is 2.0 or lower. http://www.engadget.com/2005/02/28/a-next-...me-boy-by-xmas/ -
Sony Bashing and "Why would anyone buy a PSP?"
dalton4life replied to Gabriel's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I think it's something new with PSP whether people want to admit it or not. I know at least 5 people over the age of 25 who now own a PSP after seeing my PSP in action. These are all people who would have never bought a handheld as adults. The general consensus was while they like playing consoles they didn't care for the handheld experience until PSP. One person did buy it for the web browser and movies on memory stick first and games 2nd. -

Once the PSP price comes down I don't see how DS will continue to compete with it. The typical Madden/GTA/Halo player would go almost PSP over a DS everytime and they make up a big if not the biggest part of the gaming market today. DS will always have it's fans and some good games I'm sure, but I could see a PS2/Gamecube situation if the PSP was $150 and DS was $75. -
No, but the good news is with 1.52 you can upgrade to 2.0 and then downgrade to 1.5. Then you can play every emulator there is for the PSP.

I think Sony is doing fine. I know this is nothing offical but it seems every parent I know with a child who's at least 12 years old and plays videogames is getting them a PSP for Christmas. I know some adults who are receiving as gifts too. It's clear to me the lack of available 360s is going to help Sony this Christmas.

What 360 games are so great anyway
dalton4life replied to msaeger's topic in Modern Console Discussion
/action hands sega saturn x the "biggest truth of the year" award. 985609 I too get sick of the it look like real life statements on video games. We all know what real life looks like and no video game looks like that yet. I'm betting it'll be at least a decade before we see something just like reality on a console. I remember my uncle saying Fifa on 3DO looked like real life soccer back in 1994. It's funny to think someone could make that statement on that game today. -
Do you mind greatest hits labels?
dalton4life replied to sega saturn x's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I'd rather not have the Greatest Hits Labels but if I really want the game and that's all I can find I'll get it. With N64 games I don't care since it's so hard to find them with the boxes and the Greatest Hits tag is really small on those carts. -
What kind of game would you fund if you could?
dalton4life replied to Flojomojo's topic in Modern Console Discussion
A Marvel Vs. DC game. EA put out games for both. They need to make that happen. -
Sega Master System Popularity?
dalton4life replied to Curt Vendel's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I really liked the SMS. Still it was a classic case of how more power hardware does not necessarily win the war. NES was inferior in term of graphics and sound, but we all know how that turned out. Oddly SMS was more popular than NES in Europe. -
what game is your guilty pleasure?
dalton4life replied to 8th lutz's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Hard Driving for the Lynx. I remember thinking of it like a driving similator getting me reading for my road test when it was in the arcades. Other games I like a lot that may or may not be guilty pleasures are: 5200 - Kaboom NES - Marble Madness Gameboy - Any Castlevania game Genesis - Altered Beast SNES - Looney Toons B-Ball PS1 - Devil Dice SMS - Space Harrier Dreamcast - Virtua Tennis PS2 - Ready 2 Rumble Round 2 last but that least the Virtual Boy and all it's games except Waterword. I'm color blind and I love it! -
So what game(s) got you into gaming
dalton4life replied to ninjarabbit's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My dad bought a Pong that I 1st remember playing when I was about 5 in 1978. It started there. My parents divorced 3 year laters and my mom bought me an Atari 2600 not too long after that. After the 2600 my mom was anti-video games but that dad went on to buy me a Vetrex, NES and Sega Master System. I was buying my own system Genesis and later. To my mom's credit she did buy me a couple of those Coleco table-tops and some Game and Watches as well as some of the other portable electronic games before she become so anti-gaming. Luckily for me my dad picked up the slack although he was probably trying to annoy my mom while making me happy at the same time. -
Who thinks I'll be able to snag a 360 tomorrow?
dalton4life replied to dalton4life's topic in Modern Console Discussion
So I went to that K-mart and saw they didn't have any but I asked the one lady in the electronics dept. about them. She threw me a crazy look. I guess she couldn't believe be someone was asking about them as late as I was. She said they were no more Xbox 360s but they may get more in soon. She looked like had a rough day. -
Who thinks I'll be able to snag a 360 tomorrow?
dalton4life replied to dalton4life's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Oh well. I hit a few places and they were sold out. So then I tried calling a few places and they had busy signals for a while. I'm still going to try a K-mart that I think most people wouldn't go to but they probably won't have any either. -
If you've played the 360 demo, what did you think?
dalton4life replied to Mr_8bit_16bit's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I was somewhat impressed with what I saw from playing the Call of Duty demo but that's it. There was a lot of detail but it was more jaggy than I was expecting. I certainly wasn't blown away like I was the 1st time I played Soul Calibur on Dreamcast or Ridge Racer on PS1. -
There are no cheats, non of the up up down down kind, you're just going to need skill. 964668 Don't worry. This can easily be rented and beat in less than a week. It can be challenging at times but it's never overlly difficult or fustrating. Although you'll probably want to play it more than once.

360 Backwards Compatibility List...
dalton4life replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Modern Console Discussion
The 360 in basically a really powerful computer being sold as a console. I mean three 3.2 Ghz PowerPC processors is pretty impressive for any computer nevermind a console ringing in at $400. -
Ultimate Spider-Man: I *HATE* chase levels!
dalton4life replied to DracIsBack's topic in Modern Console Discussion
It's quite a few annoying chases in the game. It's a cool concept for a game with the cell shaded comic book graphics but the chases are the worst and some of the bosses are overly diffifcult. With all that it still doesn't take much time at all to beat this game. -
I received my 1st N64 from a friend who had two of them a few months ago. It's a great system with many AAA exclusive titles. I finally bought Killer Instinct and Super Smash Bros. for mine this weekend. However most of it's multi-platform title have been done better on other systems.
