It's ok but you'd be better served getting Resident Evil Code Veronica X used for the PS2. It should be only about $10 or so and it a much better game.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
dalton4life replied to cryptik76's topic in Modern Console Discussion
No, no, that's on lower brightness. On full brightness with the sound tunred up it'll drain the battery in 2.5 hours without the wifi off and in 2 hours flat with wifi turn on. -
I posted a better pic.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
dalton4life replied to cryptik76's topic in Modern Console Discussion
This game forces you to update to 2.0 so I think I'm going to hold off for a while since I'm still using homebrew a lot. I'll probably eventually pick it up even if I have to update. I can always downgrade later. -
I was mainly interested in Tony Hawk Underground Remix for PSP but I called the store nearest me and they told me no PSP games were on sale.

I am using these wooden cd box/crates that are $5 each at Walmart for my 5200 and Jaguar games. The I can fit 18 5200 games per box. 20 if I cram them in there.

I was interested in getting one earlier in the year and they were going for closer to $100 then on Ebay. It might be less now. Sometimes prices on stuff like this goes through highs and lows. I'd keep it. An original Genesis on top of an front loading Sega CD looks cool.

I was mad they never released those Bleemcast packs that were supposed to play 100 different PS1 titles per disc on Dreamcast. Bleemcast made PS1 games look way better than the slight PS2 enchancements. I also think I recall a Looney Tunes game for the Jaguar with impressive graphics that never saq the light of day.

I really enjoy my Sony game systems but still thought this was pretty funny. Sorry if this was already posted. Sony Revolution

Anyone else got Blitz the league?

If you only have a cube the NBA and NFL Street series aren't bad for that kind of arcadey style of sports game. -
Anyone else got Blitz the league?
dalton4life replied to liquid_sky's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I have it. It's pretty good. The uncensored music is great. A lot of the extra stuff like the trash talking is pretty funny. This game is a mix of many of the good aspects of NFL Blitz, NFL Street, Madden and GTA. -
How often do you find Gameboy carts in the wild?
dalton4life replied to SteveW's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I still find plenty usually for $5-10 at pawn shops, EB Games, Gamestop and any other used Videogame store. Except there is one store in my area that charges $20 for the more popular Gameboy carts and some are $30 which is a bit insane IMO. -
Ultimate Spider-Man ... your thoughts?
dalton4life replied to DracIsBack's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I've been playing the PS2 version. At first I was a bit iffy about it and I never read the Ultimate universe comics but I knew of them. Now the game has grown on me and I've gotten used to the web swinging. I too enjoyed playing this more than Spider-man 2. I rather have my super hero games be a bit more linear than that one was anyway. The lifting thing isn't that hard. It's a bit like feats of power/skill like kicking in football games. -
5200 Paddle controllers (who has 'em?)
dalton4life replied to HP Atari King of Michigan's topic in Atari 5200
I bought one on ebay for $20-25. I don't remember the exact price or seller's name. I will say it works great with Kaboom and all the buttons work. -
I didn't find Toki to be that hard. It's hard but compared to Batman Returns it's pretty easy. Hard Driving is tough too. I think the only people who play that one are those who were getting their driver's licenses when it was in the arcades like me. It was a good driving simulator for the time.

Gamepads may favor lefties but it doesn't make sense why they were made like that unless the inventors were left handed and that's quite possible. I also do well with the arcade joystick on the left. I think lefties may have an advantage in Street Fighter type games. Those are still my favorite type of fighting game and I'm pretty good at them.
-
I'm left hand and always did fine with the NES pad and up style of controller. FPS games are a little trickey for me aiming with the right stick but I manage. Playing with the Atari 2600 stick was hell when I was kid though so the D pad on the left and buttons on the right was a welcome change to me.

It seems that many are successfully downgrading. I may try it out on someone else's PSP next week. I have a 1.5 already. It's happy days for all the non 1.5 owners. No everyone can be a 1.5 owner if they want to like it should be.

What is the best system for sports games?
dalton4life replied to silverpoodleman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Sports games are best are current gen systems. Sports game just get more complex and look better as the hardware gets better. That makes the games seem more real and generally sports fans who play sports video games want them to feel realistic. If you add the online play factor it's really no contest. With that said I know they are many old school sports games that are still really fun. My previous gen favs include: Tecmo Bowl - NES Pro Wrestling (not really sports I know) - NES Blades of Steel - NES Madden 92 - Genesis Evander Holyfield Boxing - Genesis NHL 93 - Genesis Tommy Lasorda Baseball - Genesis NBA Jam - SNES Super Punchout - SNES Mario Tennis - N64/Virtual Boy NBA 2K2- Dreamcast NFL 2K2- Dreamcast Virutal Tennis - Dreamcast -
Nostaligically and as a collector I love the N64. You can find many of the games for cheap and serveral games were quite good. N64 had the very best wrestling games at the time. If I only owned an N64 as my only system when it was out I would have been pissed since the games were often double the price of PS1 games, didn't have CD quality sound (compare the sound of SoTH to anything the N64 offers) and worst of all games were few and far between. The N64 has some charm for me too because it was the last system to use cartridges but Nintendo should have made it a CD system. It would have been better for everyone and probably would have made it the top system during it's time.

what game(s) do you want to see made
dalton4life replied to sigma's topic in Modern Console Discussion
My most wanted game is a cell shaded Comix Zone remake. I'd also like to see more Dreamcast games ported to the PSP. -
Right. Unless it happens to be Final Fantasy. 931334 Or any first party Nintendo title. 931343 No, I'm still waiting on a Kid Icarus console sequel. I know a Gameboy version came out but those were never like sequels.
-
EBgames has Ocarina of time for $10 and Majora's Mask for $15 near me. So you didn't get the best deal but you weren't ripped off either. You shouldn't really have to pay more than $15 for an N64 game unless you are desperate for it and can't find it anywhere for that price loose. CIB is a slightly different story since those are hard to come by these days.

Would you buy a Revolution if launched with Mario?
dalton4life replied to Dones's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I've never bought a Nintendo system at launch and I doubt I will do it with the Revolution unless it's under $200. I usually don't by a system at launch unless I am bored with the graphics of the systems on the market at time and Xbox 360 will have been out for months by that time. Dreamcast and PSP are the only two launch systems I've bought but I'm leaning towards a 360 in a couple of months.
