Thanks. I unpacked the zip file and added vbfix.sys to my 4.49 s2sdx3 rom file using the SDX imager. It executes as you show. In addition, I edited my car config.sys to remove the USE statement. I left the DEVICE statements. Still no config selector. The ROM is running on my AVG cart. D1 is running on my Fujinet. But X AMP fails to load. All I get is a black screen with a thin graphics 8 size line with a horizontal mixed blue and white bar quickly scrolling vertically on the screen. Pressing reset brings up the standard Graphics 0 blue screen and hangs.

I'm having trouble with connecting to BBS's. I connect to Alcatraz using Bobterm. It shows connect 9600. Then it asks for translation. I press enter. The screen begins to paint ATASCII, but hangs. I've seen similar results connecting with ATASCII on other BBS's. ASCII appears to work fine on Alcatraz and other BBS's. My Fujinet is running the 11/14/2020 firmware update.

From SDX, I go to the hardisk and folder with AMP. Type X AMP.com. It loads. In AMP press L to load a file. Type a drive like D1:COMESAIL.AMP. The file is in the root of D1. The program hangs. In this case an ATR on Fujinet has D1. But I’ve seen the same thing on SDrive Max. Bobterm said there is no disk. My machine has 256K of RAM.

Why do Cold Resets sometimes cause peripherals to go unresponsive? I've noticed this on my Atari 800 and 65XE. I'll have a few successful cold resets and then things will get into a state where the Atari doesn't see any peripherals without cycling the power on the machine. This occurs with SD Drives, AVG cart and Fujinet. I've encountered it with using SpartaDos X's COLD command, or running E477 and poking 580,1 in Basic before pressing the reset button. Thanks.

#FujiNet Testing and Bug Reporting Thread
gs80065xe replied to tschak909's topic in #FujiNet SIO Network Adapter
I’m aware of that bug. But I inserted ATRs from Fujinet config for slots 1 and 2. Powered off and inserted the cart and booted to SDX. FLD showed the ATR files in those slots. But a dir of 1 does what you said about the bug. And dir of 2 returns error 138. -
#FujiNet Testing and Bug Reporting Thread

SDX 4.49 from AVG cart not recognizing ATR files mounted in Fujinet device slots. My Fuijinet and AVG cart have the latest firmware. My SDX HD is a small partition on the AVG cart’s SD card. If I mount a local or remote ATR in slot 1 or or 2 on the Fujinet SDX says device not found for drive 2. And shows FNC tools from the Fujinet hardware on drive 1. Using the FLD tool in SDX, I can see the ATR files listed in the correct slots. I can eject and mount them using the FNC tools. But SDX never shows them as present. Just get error 138 when I doa dir or format. If I replace Fujinet with my SDX Max, SDX can see its disks. I’m not sure where the problem lies. I saw Tom’s video on using FTC tools on SDX. Don’t know what multi cart he was using. The only main difference I saw was he created a hard drive on Fujinet. But I doubt that’s the issue because my SD Max works. -
Thanks. Missed that in De Re AVGCART. I was thinking it would require being done with the external buttons.

Can the AVG cart be bypassed at boot in favor of booting from disk? Just curious. I'm looking for ways to minimize wear and tear on 30+ year old hardware. And I worry removing cartridges will eventually cause a mechanical failure.

I currently use AVG CART in conjunction with my FUJINET. Like the FUJINET, the firmware for AVG cart is periodically updated. It would be nice to setup a system to pull the latest firmware for AVG Cart, SDDriveMax or any other hardware we have that can flash itself through Fujinet instead of first downloading it to a PC. Then copying to the where the device needs it. I don't know if that is possible. But just thought I would suggest it.

I received my FUJINET this week. So far it has been working well. I watched Thomas' Youtube video on how to use FNC tools with SpartaDos X. I downloaded the tools from the site he showed. But the doc files were not in the folder like in the video. Found the tools on another site. But they lacked the help files. Can someone please point me to them? I had trouble with FCD. For example, I would FCD N:TNFS://FUJINET.PL/. Then FPWD to verify I was there. But if I tried to FCD to a specific folder on that site, it would show I was there in FPWD. But FDIR would not show the files I know are in that folder. Is this normal. In addition, sometimes I would get SIO ERROR when I tried to FDIR. I've searched online and this thread for SIO ERROR. But failed to get a description. One more thing, are these paths case sensitive? FUJINET.PL has a networking folder. But I had trouble FCD N:NETWORKING. I think the combination that worked for me was FCD N:networking/. Do you need the trailing slash? Oh, I'm about to search elsewhere, but I'll go ahead and ask here. Can FUJINET maintain current time in SpartaDos? Thanks.

SpartaDosX not reading SpartaDos 3.2 diskette.
gs80065xe replied to gs80065xe's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks for the replies. I have searched the manual and Google to help figure this out. But I was unable to find something that fits. Not sure what setting could be an issue. I have all the necessary drivers in my configuration.sys file. I”ll try copying the files to a new diskette. -
I have an old diskette with AMP(Antic Music Processor) and some music files. It's formatted with SpartaDos 3.2. I can boot SpartaDos 3.2 diskette. Insert this diskette and view and execute the files. But the same diskette cannot be read when I boot SpartaDosX 4.49 from AVG cart. I get 148 Unknown file system. SpartaDosX can read the SpartaDos 3.2 boot diskette. As well as another diskette I've tried.

De Re AVGCart says the Cart can Auto start a file / directory when it first powers on using CONTROL + SHIFT + A on the current selected entry. The way that is worded, I take it to mean either file or directory can be flagged to auto start when the computer powers on. But it isn't working that way for me in versions 18 or 19 of the firmware. Is it for directory only?
