Glad that worked! That's now the third system I've seen exhibiting those symptoms that has been fixed by a CPU replacement.

Thats awesome, Thanks again! Hopefully this helps more people too

I disagree, I think you'd be a little closer to 1979 with that TV underneath ;)

Haha your right! it matches the atari so well too, it could play on it but i modded the TV HDMI and its easier to use the modern crt

I've seen that exact screen with a blue bar (and an orangish one on the opposite side, which may be in your set's overscan area) caused by a dead CPU.

If you don't have another VCS to swap chips with, consider picking up a spare from Best, eBay, etc.

Thanks! Which is the CPU? Iam just getting into the hobby sorry.

Am i looking for brand new or new old stock?

    Thanks again

Not that I am by any stretch of the imagination an expert on troubleshooting a 2600; but it might also be a problem the RF converter box?

iam not using the RF box, iam using an f connector to the RF on my tv. But there is an RF box like thing inside

  5. Hey everyone!

I just found my first 2600, it was at a goodwill for 15$. its such a beautifull sight and something i wanted for a long time

Vintage hardware is rare in nova scotia

Anyway i have 1 game for it, Yars revenge. i hooked it up and its not working

i reseated the chips, looked at the caps. Cleaned connections and nothing works. all i get is a black screen and the odd time i get solid vertical lines

  6. I'm pretty sure the left one is a 41256.

You want to do the correct mod for the chip you are using. I sell 4164s so the mod is in the right for those.. which chips are you using?

Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk

The 4164 set you sold me
