    Grabbed a 27" Trinitron for free off FB Marketplace. Been a good week for retro scores.

    Snagged an Apple IIe with Duodisk, Monitor 2 and Imagewriter (all untested) for $70. Looks nice, so even if it needs some repairs I think it was worth it.

      So this thing seems to work. Monitor is nice and sharp (and sexy green), self test succeeds, and was able to load a couple titles via the cassette interface. The duo disk makes weird noises and the light stays on, so that will need attention once I actually have floppies to read.

      I know, right? Can't wait til the family goes to bed and I can start hooking up and testing this thing. Apparently you can stream basic software through an audio cable? That'd be a good way to start running diagnostics if it boots.

    I wanted an MS-DOS computer.

    I found an early Pentium desktop with a couple 3.5 inch drives and a 56x cd rom drive.

    It was labeled as "Parts $5.00"

    I thought: "Holy crap!"

    They said it was not for sale.

      Wife used to work at a car rental service in out near the area in Kentucky where Shatner has some of his horses. She says he was really rude and she'd intentionally give him a shitty car in return.

    Been on an 80’s movie kick of late. Watched Fletch, Stripes, UHF, Beverly Hills Cop, and about to start Lethal Weapon.

    Phone has been insisting it needs a software update.  Fine, finally gave in.  Now my messenger app reversed the background from white/black to black/white and I haven't found a way to change it back.  Why TF was that necessary?

    Bought The Outer Worlds. I should have bought this first and skipped Borderlands 3 entirely. It's Fallout in space.

      Outer Worlds is part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC. Kind of surprised they’d let you “rent” a high profile new release like that.

      Same situation here... Bought a new video card and got a free copy of Borderlands 3 as well as a three month trial of Xbox Game pass for PC. Borderlands is *not* keeping my attention, and I'm just waiting for the free time to start Outer Worlds.

    If it were up to me, I would have ended the Terminator franchise with Salvation being the third and final film. Of course, the Universal Studios ride is what Salvation should have been.

      Terminator 2 wrapped up the modern day storyline too well. If I'd made a sequel, it'd be strictly set in the future focusing on the resistance. (I never watched any past 3, which was lackluster and unnecessary.)

    The Atari 5200's architecture is based off of the atari 8-bit line of computers right? And most of the games on the 5200 are on the 8-bit, idk man. I guess I have no nostalgia for the 5200, but still it doesn't seem like the wisest investment lol

      Missile Command and Pole position play surprisingly well with the stock controllers. Pac-Man seems to play fine too. Other games, not so much.

      I was given one with about 20 games. I figured it's an interesting enough curiosity to spend time looking into and collecting what I don't already have.

       

      That, and nobody will willingly buy it off me.

    CCleaner gives me a script error when i turn on my PC, then get message that your CCleaner is out of date. There have been 18 updates since the version you are using.  There's alot of cleaning updates you're missing out on. Click below to update to the latest version

    There really wasn't a good AND arcade-faithful port of Double Dragon to any system, was there?

      GBA version is definitely the best, but it deviates pretty substantially from the arcade in a lot of ways (and is honestly a better game for it.)
