  1. I remember seeing a bunch of these machines throughout the 80s in the midwest and northeast U.S. Ms. Pac Man was the one I remember seeing the most. I always thought it was cool that you could sit down and play them instead of having to stand all the time. I think I remember seeing a Burgertime cocktail arcade game if I remember correctly.

  2. I will be in the Columbus Ohio area around 15th June, so anyone wanting to see my BoulderDash engine running, in that area, drop me a note and I'll be happy to try to get together.

    PM sent.

  3. Karate was simply inexcusable.  Who thought they could make a fighting game for the Atari 2600?!

You know what, I think this may just be the #1 worst game in my book. Gameplay is horrible. Well, actually everything about it is horrible! But I'll still play it every now and then just to see if I can actually do anything with it.

  4. So I guess I got a good deal when I got it for 50 cents at a thrift store several years ago? :D

Seriously, it's a pretty good game. Add the fact that it's sponsored by Charlie Hustle, and with all the trouble he's been in, it's a nice item to have in your collection.

  5. Nice to see someone else remembered the TI 99/4A's voice module. When my brother and I were kids, our babysitter had one at his house and we'd use to play Parsec all the time with that. It was pretty cool. The Intellivoice is still pretty impressive considering the technology at the time, as someone already mentioned with Bomb Squad.

Probably the one that REALLY caught my attention was when I first played Jinks on the 7800 and heard the "YOW" and the other sample from Gauntlet. Oh, if they only released that game for the 7800 back then with those sounds, but no luck.

  6. Whoa! No way. It's my hometown so I'm definitely interested. Anyone ever been to one of these, and if it's worth going if you can't spend a whole lot of dough? I'm curious if you can really get any deals on anything.

  7. I visited here once about a year or two ago, but haven't been back since about two months ago and registered then. After years of frustration, I posted about my copy of Desert Falcon that kept scrolling, thought maybe I had a PAL version, and thanks to some troubleshooting by several people here it turned out to be my old TV that was the culprit. And now I'm stuck here as I got the collecting bug again :D

  8. I think that's common for Tigervision carts, unfortunately.  I don't know if any of them will fit into a 7800 without modification (to the cart, that is, although I suppose you could modify the 7800.. <grin>)

I could've sworn my copies of Bounty Bob and Marauder worked in my 7800 without any problems. Or maybe I just got lucky with mine. I'll have to check on that tonight.

  9. Good luck :)

Well, for the first time in quite a while, I had it! At least for me anyway. Found Secret Quest, Roc 'N Rope, Skate Boardin' and Private Eye for $1 each. No manuals or boxes but hey, it's a start! Found the red end label version of Ballblazer for the 7800 as well, same price. So, not a bad day for a change.

  10. (raises hand)

I actually had one last night. I dreamed I went to a flea market and scored a TON of Atari stuff. Zimag manuals, some hard to find Activision carts, and some non-Atari hardware like an Odyssey 2 voice module. Is it any coincidence it's Saturday and it's time to hit the flea markets for real? :D

  11. Last night's ALIAS, Marshall was seen playing a game offscreen...Sloane comes in and interrupts him, with a "what are you doing?" glare, Marshall then holds up a 2600 joystick and Asteroids cartridge and says "You can't beat the classics!"

    You mean this? :D

Sorry it's kind of hard to see, but it's clearly an Asteroids cart.
