After refreshing my DNS on my PC, I could get to the 2600/5200/7800/etc. sections from the main page but NOT from the Forums page. I'm guessing that'll fix itself as well in time as well, right?

Just wanted to say thanks as well for the forum update. Pretty fast and looks like it has some nice features.

Since my earlier reply didn't make it after the migration, the episode is called "Space Jam": http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/Guide...18/epid-216364/

Albert already answered my question. Sorry about that.

For this one, ANY system! Please!

It came out in the US as well: http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html...wareLabelID=602

That's how I pronounce it. If there's another way, I've never heard it.

Is that "God" game for real or just a joke? What's the deal with it? As a huge Iron Maiden fan I gotta know.

What methods do you use in Collecting?
Mental Vortex replied to crveatch's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My brother and I were lucky enough to start our collections in the mid 90s when the thrift stores and flea markets near us had a TON of systems and games. We easily found 7800s, 5200s, Colecos, etc. and lots of good games for them. I stopped collecting seriously around 2000, but started up again recently. Unfortunately, where I am now (Columbus, OH) hasn't offered much in the thrift stores here. Haven't checked out many flea markets, but I hope to now that warmer weather is coming. Garage sales are somewhat plentiful around here, so I hope I'm successful at a few at least. As far as eBay, I bought a Coleco roller controller, and a few games, but that's about it. Too much of a hassle sometimes I guess. -
Why do some people want to collect every Atari 2600 game?
Mental Vortex replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
That's me too. Had an Intellivision (which I got again and still collect for) but now that I can get all the old games for the Atari that I missed the first time around, why not? -
NES expansion slot - was it used for anything?
Mental Vortex replied to Mental Vortex's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for the link. Couldn't find it the first time. VERY interesting. -
My friend Chris got a NES around 1986 or so. He heard a rumor that you could play Sega Master System games if you plugged them into the expansion slot at the bottom of the unit. Needless to say, it didn't work, and he gave me his copy of Space Harrier that he bought just for that. I still need to get an SMS one of these days, but that's for another thread. Anyway, was the expansion slot ever actually used for anything? I did a quick search on this site and couldn't find much that talked about it. I always wondered if was just there and never used or what.

Game Program and TWO JOEL CARTS in this lot !
Mental Vortex replied to Red 5's topic in Auction Central
Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Best laugh I've had all day. This HAS to be a joke...but it's eBay so maybe not. Too funny. -
Wasn't there a laser disc that was supposed to come out for it? I remember reading that somewhere years ago, and that "Dragon's Lair" would be among the titles for it.
-
I bought a copy of Madden 2005 for my PS1, so they are definitely still making games. As much as I'd like to, I can't afford a PS2 right now.

We played the heck out of Bad Dudes when it was in the arcades. Great game. I do remember playing it on the NES years ago, but I didn't think it was THAT bad. Haven't played it in a while though.
-
Ha! I hear ya. Started getting a 2600 to play Pitfall, Starmaster, etc., and still going after discovering all the other games I didn't know existed. Unfortunately the thrift stores around here are pretty dry as far as any old video game stuff, which hasn't helped.
-
Oh man, the Different Strokes cart is absolutely HILARIOUS!!!! Excellent work!
-
Super Cobra perhaps?
-
My guess is they did that so you didn't have to take your joystick out of port 1 to play the game, making it less of an inconveinence to play. I think Astroblast is the same way, since you could use either the joystick or paddles to play.
-
I thought Squeeze Box was pretty decent, too. Did anyone mention Bugs? For a Data Age game I didn't think it was that bad. Plus a third party game that uses paddles were uncommon anyway (Tac Scan is still my favorite for that category).

Like others on here, I didn't have an Atari when it first came out. We had an Intellivision instead, which my mom gave away sometime in the late 80s WITHOUT asking my brother or I about it first! It especially hurts when I think that we had some hard to find games such as Buzz Bombers and others, but that's for another thread. My brother found me a Jr. in 1993, and since then I bought a 7800, a 4 and 6 switch model and also have my wife's old Telegames console. I use the 7800 for everything as I haven't had any problems with any of my games on it.

Absolutely nothing. He was the one who told Steve Jobs to go somewhere else when Jobs wanted Atari to manufacture computers. Wow, there's something I didn't know! Guess I have a lot of reading to do about this subject.

I used my Coleco roller controller on the 7800 version and it seemed to work fine. I think I even used it on Millipede and it was OK. Is there a problem with the Atari trackball and this game?
-
Centipede was one of the first games I had for the 7800 and loved it right away. The translation and the two player simultaneous mode sold me on it easily. The 2600 isn't bad itself, considering its limitations. Millipede is pretty decent, too.
