To name a few... Kaboom! Pitfall II Defender Warlords I'm sure there's plenty more others will mention.

The opening theme to Cookie Monster Munch rules!

Here here! I'd love to see this one, especially if the voice parts are there.

This was one of the later games that I first picked up for the 2600 when I started collecting for it. After playing it for about 15 seconds, I thought, "how in the HECK did they get the 2600 do to THIS????" Tough game, but looking forward to see if I can get a decent score for this contest.

Despite the "game program" gaff, I do see a blue label Activison game of some kind in there. Hmm.

Galaga is one of THE reasons to own a 7800, no question. I got my 7800 back in early 1994 and it came with it. I couldn't believe how good of a version it was compared to the arcade game. I heard that the NES version is pretty good too, but I haven't played it yet. And Ballblazer is a must, too. One of the more unique games for any Atari system, and the gameplay is very cool. I don't own all the 7800 games (yet), but out of what I do have this is probably my favorite.

Started playing it again this weekend, and wanted to throw the controller at the TV a few times! Maybe I'll actually get to the end this time... Didn't know about the extra level on the 5200 version. Did the C64 have it also?

Scans of Atari 2600 console manuals available?
Mental Vortex replied to Mental Vortex's topic in Atari 2600
That's fine. I didn't know if any of that information was here or not so I thought I'd check. Thanks. -
Scans of Atari 2600 console manuals available?
Mental Vortex replied to Mental Vortex's topic in Atari 2600
I guess the answer is no, then? -
I want the 8-track version!

Don't forget the music changes to a minor key right after you die

Maybe I'm just missing it, but I'm trying to find if this site has scans of the manuals that came with the 2600 consoles themselves. I have one for the Sears Telegames 4-switch model that I can upload if no one's submitted yet, but I don't see where they are on here if at all. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I remember playing this sometime in the mid 80s once and thought "Wow, this is a GREAT game!" Once I got my Atari and my own copy sometime in the late 90s and finally went through most of the game, I still found it amazing. Compared to some of the duds that came out around that time, this was a great piece of programming and gameplay. Still love it today.

One of my all time favorite games. Can't wait to hear the sounds from this. Thanks!

Ahh yes, the all-time classic Pac Man. I remember when this first came out. My friend Joey, who was the one that had the Atari with all the games, got this the day it came out and I couldn't WAIT to play it. Sure, the translation wasn't great, and we wondered why the doors were at the top and bottom instead of the sides, but we didn't care. We had Pac-Man, and it was still a LOT of fun. I can't wait to give this a try to see how far I can get.

I remember someone playing an Atari game, but don't remember seeing any boxed games in the movie. I don't have a clue!

     "Is he taking the piss? I think he's taking the piss." The commentary on the This is Spinal Tap DVD is almost as funny as the movie itself. -S Oh, no question. It's almost like getting another movie! "Did Viv ever know his microphone was turned off?"
-
Guess I can get something out of the three extra Pac-Mans I have laying around after all?
-
I dug this out last night after reading this thread and you're right. It IS a pretty good game! I think I played this on the NES as well when it came out. Anyway, it is a lot of fun, and well written. Always liked the skateboarding part, just to see how high you can get the guy to go up in the air and do a few tricks along the way.
-
Agreed regarding Night Driver. Even after all these years of playing it, it's still one of the fastest games out there for the 2600. Same with Kaboom. I'll have to dig out Entombed as I haven't played it in a while. Don't really remember what it's like. I think even Bugs got a bit fast after a while, too.

Can someone identify the game in this picture?
Mental Vortex replied to Mental Vortex's topic in Auction Central
Wow, quick responses! I hadn't actually seen the game before and couldn't make out the writing on the label. Thanks for the info. -
Saw this auction on eBay today, and I don't recognize the game pictured in the last row on the right. Anyone know what it is? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8172186505&rd=1

Unlisted "Mouse Trap" cartridge - how rare is this
Mental Vortex replied to Mental Vortex's topic in Atari 2600
I look at the screenshots for the NTSC version and the colors are indeed different than what I saw on my version last night. So I actually have a PAL cart. Cool! And I didn't even have to go outside of the U.S. to get it, or pay a lot for it -
Unlisted "Mouse Trap" cartridge - how rare is this
Mental Vortex replied to Mental Vortex's topic in Atari 2600
Yeah, it's like that. It plays fine on my 7800 though, which is why I didn't think it was a PAL cart. Would it still play OK even if it is? How else would I tell for sure? -
Unlisted "Mouse Trap" cartridge - how rare is this

Interesting stuff here. I had no idea about any of the games that came with the Gemini besides Mouse Trap. I guess it made sense that DK came with it since it was their big name game at the time. As a result of my discovery, I started going through all my 2600 games last night and sure enough I already found a few more label variations that aren't listed on the rarity list. My Dig Dug is copyrighted 1983 (not a big deal probably) but my copy of Enduro has text in FIVE different languages! Everything is in English and French (perhaps a Canadian cart?) but the line "for one player using joystick" or whatever it says is in the following languages: English French German Italian Spanish I can put a scan up tonight if anyone wants to see it. Again, no idea if it's worth anything, but should be included somewhere on here.
