  1. Commodore with a new Retropie / Retroarch image, but still there isn't an Atari only image.
  2. I like to see someone else playing, more than me playing, and I don't usually play anything, but if I play is atari. The guys should record their game and then upload the video here (embedded if you don't mind). Something real... there is a guy mrkong and couple of machine-players that are unbeatable. It should be the top 30% instead of the top 3.
  3. But there is a converter from BAS to ATR: Adventurer (The).atr (For this game there is an error in both bas and atr). It's called Bas2Boot: bas2boot - BAS to ATR converter.7z https://www.atarimax.com/jindroush.atari.org/data/asoft/ It works under DosBox: it doesn't work under Windows, so it's required DosBox. First a folder must be mounted (example provided in file), an autoexec line can be added at the end to the .conf file also. Then, if there is a "No DPMI error", the file CWSDPMI.EXE (also provided) must be copied to the working folder. Then from the command line convert the .bas to .atr.
  4. Hechos Increibles (Incredible Facts) - Modulo 1.xex Hechos Increibles (Incredible Facts) - Modulo 2.xex Juegos Didacticos (Didactical Games).rar Max y el Alfabeto (Max and the Alphabet).xex
  5. Good to hear about such programs. But not always work. With Crash-Tinkle-Tinkle.bas works, with Adventurer (The).bas doesn't.
  6. I'm working on a title screen for a game, and I would like to add background music. - So far it's possible to export the .g2f to .asm. - And it's possible to export the .rtm to .asm with Raster Music Tracker. Is there a pre-made asm code for "pasting" both codes (and adding something else like exit with Start / fire button) in order to build a .xex with the picture and the music?
  7. Sometimes some options work, sometimes not... Metallica - Wherever I May Roam pdm14 mono 31200Hz thecart pal.car
  8. In my last post I was referring to atari800, not RetroPie. The atari800 emulator requires the file atari800.cfg, that doesn't interact with RetroArch. Also there is no shaders, bezels, and so on, and that is one of the reasons it's deprecated by the "RetroPie image builders". A second reason why the 8-bit collection is deprecated, is because there isn't a No-Intro version updated, with all media (videos and pictures), so it's very difficult to start. Luckily it has been improved, but not in the versions of some months ago. Also could be a topic here in AtariAge for introduce RetroPie, it's features, and to build an Atari image, among the AA users. I agree, it's a nightmare in the beginning, but once everything is ready, it's easier to have all retro-systems working with 1 click, instead of individual emulators.
  9. It's basically the linux version, including its "menu", that doesn't interact with RetroArch.
  10. Some people don't understand you can have both, the traditional emulator for your OS and the libretro plugin, like now with Nintendo, Sega, Neo Geo, and Atari 2600-5200-7800-Lynx, but the only (or one of the few) platform that is not there (in around 50 different systems), is the Atari 8-bit collection, working with all the libretro features. Here is a video https://youtu.be/NoMbGFeCeMA?t=44 performing RetroPie / Recalbox as the frontend with RetroArch behind. With such video I see a lot of fun having many retro-systems working together on the same hand, and I'm quite disagree with the phrase "Things like Mednafen and Retroarch are the least fun you can have on a day". Just search RetroPie in YouTube. I have no doubt that a development is required, according to some guidelines. But it catches the attention that the Atari 8-bit is the only big system that is not being developed there. Even the C64 / Coleco are there.
  11. They can be in both formats for several OS. Currently Stella is integrated with libretro: https://docs.libretro.com/library/stella/ Thank you for all your work. Hopefully more people show-up with their know-how.
  12. Likely asked or commented, but all emulation of retro systems are moving to plugins (cores) for RetroArch / libretro, with features such as shaders, bezels, save states, among others, with the same standard for many platforms / OS. Atari800 is there (barely updated without all features), also I've seen kat5200 manually installed, but being that gratefully Altirra is the most updated and improved, it surprises that it is far from the "libretro" development. https://www.retroarch.com/?page=cores https://docs.libretro.com/guides/download-cores/ https://docs.libretro.com/library/atari800/ http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/linux/x86_64/latest/
  13. It's part of the fun. Still it's the cheapest option for someone new to electronics. I'm not a garlic fan, but nothing to do with undervalued currencies and incompetent governments.
  14. For the hobbyist not professional, this tool DOES the job: (it requires 220V) AliExpress
  15. It's not apple, but the SFX sounds of Jet Set Willy 2019 remind me: Dangerous Dave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5Xdj5HCOgc
  16. I don't know about the signal, but when you see people selling s-video-component adapters, like this, it really suggests that is possible. Edit: in the title says component, then in description: composite.
  17. I found this s-video pinout, and it suggests how to wiring a component video. At least the luma is the same, but I'm surprised that no one has commented on the wiring to component video, maybe the signal differences are not the same and it will not work, but if it does, the quality should be better than the composite on moderns TVs with component input.
  18. I've been testing in different TVs, and there are light differences, the hue and strength depends of the brand in their defaults (Sony, LG, Samsung). And it also differs from a CRT.
  19. Regarding palettes, it seems that the NTSC and PAL defaults where built for CRTs. I've been testing games in modern TVs like Sony, LG, Samsung with composite video, and the colors differ. There are some colors bleached, others look the same (for default TV options). To have additional palettes for modern TVs would be an enhancement.
  20. Thanks. I wasn't aware of the quality of S-Video. I'll test it.
  21. The manual says the following in the number 6: A comparison would be good. Here there are not many people using a 65XE, mostly are using XL. In fact, my photos are the first for a 65XE. I'll make further tests with the ground in different locations.
