  1. Suggestions: In the "Memory1" panel every change is painted red, no matters if it's root is automatic or manual (like with command "f"). What if manual changes are painted with a different color (ex.: blue). A scrollbar for the Memory panel, making possible to go up-down with the mouse wheel. A CTRL-F (find) function for the Memory panel. An horizontal Offset for the Memory panel: In the Disassembly panel, if I copy & paste this: I get this: 8045: 18 CLC 8046: B9 A3 00 LDA $00A3,Y 8049: 7D 01 82 ADC $8201,X 804C: 99 A3 00 STA $00A3,Y 804F: B9 B1 00 LDA $00B1,Y 8052: F0 1B BEQ $806F 8054: BE 14 20 LDX $2014,Y 8057: BD 05 82 LDA $8205,X But I'm just interested to paste the code: CLC LDA $00A3,Y ADC $8201,X STA $00A3,Y LDA $00B1,Y $806F LDX $2014,Y LDA $8205,X
  2. Suggestion: Ability to select and copy & paste values from the "Memory1" to external applications, like HxD. Also be possible to edit values inline, instead of with a command: "f $8000 l1 00". Altirra: HxD:
  3. By the way, I'm looking for an artist for an ending screen of this game. It started as a just a couple of hours parallel project, but now it'll have several enhancements, and it deserves one more addiction to be even better: It must be G2F, 1 screen is enough. Related to the end of the game, with similar graphics style. Artist's credits can be embedded in the image. If you're motivated, PM.
  4. "Corona" means crown is Spanish (the virus with crown). So it would be better Covid / Sars.
  5. ... It would be better to take a nap ...
  6. I found these time ago, I've been searching several days where I got it, with no luck. It's dated 6-Jan-2010, and it's unfinished with empty spaces. If someone recognizes it's name, just scream. Music2.mp4 Music1.mp4
  7. I deduce and understand the following: It's a low-memory auto-boot loader for ATR disk files, in comparison with standard DOS disks. Usually an ATR requires a DOS that uses a range of memory: $0700 - $1FFF xDOS uses $0700 - $937, so you can start using the memory from $938. It loads any xex renamed to "AUTORUN". It's a bit tricky to create a new disk: You should start with a standard DOS disk, then insert and rename the xBOOT_Initializer(DOS).xex to "AUTORUN.SYS" with AtrUtil . Then start the ATR in Altirra, with read/write (R/W) disk set, that's were the disk is created with xDos. Then with AtrUtil you can delete all files inside, and then insert the required file renamed to AUTORUN. Here are 2 disk already created: 90kb and 180kb. Just replace AUTORUN with a new xex with AtrUtil. Now, if you don't know in what situation you would require to use the extra memory range from $938 to $1FFF, this topic is not for you (yet) ?. (If there is something wrong in the assumptions, please correct it). Disk example with river raid - 90kb.atr Disk example with river raid - 180kb.atr
  8. The hack to any of those would be great: Electrician.a8t Fire Bug.a8t Polar Pierre-trainer.a8t Sea Chase.a8t Seawolf II.a8t
  9. If there is a legislation that limits the decibels in rock concerts for not become a deaf the week after, I'd bet that a good band is going to have a full stadium despite such legislation. If a band won't achieve a full venue in their presentations, it is more likely that is because it is a bad artist.
  10. Thanks for the topic. If useful as source of information: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/262698-looking-for-a-few-cheats-trainers/ http://www.atari-shop.nl/tipstricks/xlxetipstricks.htm https://atari.panprase.cz/?action=trainery&pismeno=vse The main difference is that this is a "hard drive" hack, instead of a "ram" hack with .a8t files. Both memory positions are in a different place. Having both is very useful, the only detail is I would add a suffix in the filename of any hard coded hack, ex.: "game (lives+).xex", in order to be aware of, and not to spread a hacked file without knowledge.
  11. After taking a quick look at the rules, I'm little disappointed that one of the major competitions for Atari development doesn't have any further specification of the type of hardware that the software should run properly. The rules are simply limited to "be able to run on an Atari 8-Bit homecomputer". It doesn't say nothing like "it must run on PAL and NTSC" machines. This is the result for the "2nd place at ABBUC Software Contest 2019" running in NTSC. There is no doubt it wouldn't have taken a major effort to add a routine to work properly in both NTSC and PAL.
  12. Feature suggestion: An extremely useful improvement for development would be a "Right Button" over the screen, and it outputs information about that point, like the color and the position of the memory the color is in. Also, the Toggle button for NTSC/PAL is too hidden, being that it's very used for testing new software that you don't know if it's native for NTSC or PAL. System > Configure System > System > Toogle NTSC/PAL
  13. That's what I call a super-mega-bumb!
  14. I found that only 1 spider is working at a time with the new vertical motion: Montezuma Redux.mp4 Also in the very original version, there is a lack of symmetry in the right panel, with the score and extra lives: How it is now: A possibility of how the original should have been: 7 spaces for numbers, and lives and score both aligned to the right:
  15. Why not? The idea is to install a protection and not to be worried about the quality of the power supply, for anyone who wants to plug the device.
  16. Recently I had to change my 5.0V power supply. I found one 5V lying around (by the way, made in China) and after turn on the Atari (by the way, my arrowhead machine), immediately I realized the colors were not the same, it was a bluish tonality. After that, I was heavily worried for some minutes, and then I tested the voltage resulting in 5.34V. So I was thinking what about to install a voltage regulator. Making a research, I though it should have been easily to find an option, since that many devices use 5V. Even thought there are several regulators, not too many accomplish the required features: Step-up (boost converter) to 5V Step-down (buck) to 5V Automatic process, but many of them are manual with a potentiometer. Enough amps for machines with lots of upgrades. Without testing I'm guessing 4A would be ok. (What is the maximum current consumption of a heavily upgraded machine?). Good accuracy to 5.0V. A converter should be better than a linear voltage regulator, according to this video. After researching, not to many options for the job: Pololu 5V Step-Up/Step-Down Voltage Regulator S18V20F5 Maximum output current: 2A 4% accuracy Input voltage: 2.9V to 32V USD 14.95 Pololu 5V Step-Up/Step-Down Voltage Regulator S9V11F5 Maximum continuous output current: 1.5A +5/-3% accuracy Input voltage: 2V to 16V USD 5.95 However with the above devices I'm not fully happy. They have a wide input voltage resulting in few accuracy (ex: 5V * 1.05 = 5.25V). I think the proper one should be something in the range of an input of 4-6V, with an accuracy of less than 2%, and an output over 4A. Has anyone tested any of the Pololu regulators or any other?
  17. Thanks for this version. For the only thing I have to use a modified version of atari800 is for tape recording, .cas files (yeah it's old, but it's related to Atari). I was told it's the only emulator that works with FSK modulation. Files: http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/emulators_and_utils/8-bit/A8CAS/atari800-a8cas/1.2.2/ https://sourceforge.net/projects/a8cas/files/atari800-a8cas/1.2.2/ a8cas-atari800-patch-1.2.2.tar.gz atari800-a8cas-1.2.2-liba8cas-1.5.0-winsdl.zip
  18. I've also found that fading doesn't work when exiting with joystick button or Start. Maybe it's done that way, otherwise: So, edit Title.asm and replace: bne _lp ;wait to press any key; here you can put any own routine jsr fade_out ;fade out colors els null jmp DLI.dli1 ;CPU is busy here, so no more routines allowed with: bne _lp ;wait to press any key; here you can put any own routine els null jmp DLI.dli1 ;CPU is busy here, so no more routines allowed And (around line 100) add: stop jsr fade_out ;fade out colors ;// ADD THIS LINE FOR FADING WHEN EXIT WITH START AND JOYSTICK
  19. I found XEX Filter tool, reading... https://atariage.com/forums/topic/300572-xex-filter-tool/
  20. How can the opposite operation of "Append segments" can be done? (with any windows app). For example: a segment $5000-$BFFF, that must be split in 2: $5000-$6FFF and $7000-$BFFF.
  21. Thanks, I was using a .bat for running mads "and working as a machine...". In this case I also need the end of the .lab (generated with -t).
  22. This is what happens with labels UPPERCASED (by default in .fad file). When it's changed to lowercase, all errors are fixed.
  23. Graph2Font Bug found: When saving as ASM (not all data): Output file.fad: Now labels are: .local FADE .local FADE_IN .local FADE_OUT .local SAVE_COLOR It should be: .local fade .local fade_in .local fade_out .local save_color
