  1. About 64,000. I am more fixated on how many levels I can complete than high score. But it certainly is gratifying to sink the seal, a polar bear and a couple of penguins all in one swoop for big points.
  2. I was in the zone last night playing this and managed to get to level 16 (you know......16 igloos) Is it even possible to get to the 21st igloo? Is there any special type of graphic acknowledging such a feat? Or does it just reflect one single igloo as the 21st level? Work with me here, I still want to believe that there are numerous undiscovered Easter eggs in these old game cartridges! In these higher levels the seal is on you like a laser and those damn penguins are moving and twirling so fast that my hats off to anyone who can achieve igloo 17 and beyond.
  3. I actually forgot about Tempest......Holy Tie-Breakers Bat-Man! Other than buying an actual arcade machine the 5200 Tempest with a track ball is FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! Like Bo just to say in 1992.........Just Do It!
  4. 1. What a previous poster said - the track ball for the 5200 is exquisite and makes the ports of classics Centipede and Missile Command the best 2. Two exclusive games..... Realsports Baseball and Space Dungeon. I know having to deal with the 5200 controllers can be a pain in the ass but when you have two working sticks and a coupler Space Dungeon alone is worth the aggravation that can be the Atari 5200.
  5. EVERY Intellivision player who reads this forum needs to buy this game! I cut my teeth on the C-64 version many moons ago and this port is equal (and probably a little better.......you can pause the game AND save your highest level to start again.) Simply put.....I have been enjoying the hell out of this game!
  6. Thanks for the intermissions clarification. I do my thumb no favors as I am currently using a model II. I do have a nice A/V modded model III that I use to play the best Intellivision games on. Games like Christmas Carol (of which I am a proud and lucky owner of the cartridge)
  7. What a great port this is for the Intellivision! Question: Does this game really have all 5 intermissions? I can only reach the third and I am trying to save my disc thumb for other Inty games. This game really takes a toll on my gaming thumb.
  8. I'd like to belatedly thank whoever outbid me on Ebay for a Atari 5200 Bounty Bob Strikes Back about 5 years ago. After a day of drinking quite a few brews I placed a $400 bid, only to wake up the next morning to find that I lost the auction. I know it is a holy grail game and eventually got to scratch the itch by getting the Commodore 64 disk version of it (at a much, much cheaper price) Kids.......don't drink and Ebay!
  9. Received mine today - I am on vacation this week and was able to greet the mailman delivering my package at the door. Literally five minutes later that cartridge was in my Intellivision. That in itself was pretty exciting.......I felt like my 11 year-old self running into my house with a new video game I had just purchased from Toys R Us. I must admit that I was a little skeptical about using the Inty controller for a game that requires a lot of precise movements and jumps but am happy to report that all is well with this. In fact, I'd have to say it is even better than I hoped it would be. Congrats to you guys on programming this! After spending two hours playing it....this game is freaking sweet! (and very well worth the sore right thumb I currently have) I look forward to seeing the additional levels and maybe even reading the instruction manual. Thank you!
  10. I appreciate the comment. I actually sold the cart for Super NFL Football on Ebay not too long ago after owning it for a few years. It is a fine game but as you mentioned it is buggy and the CPU isn't too great of an opponent. I actually think Super Pro is the better game but wish it had the fumbles, two-point conversions and above all.....custom quarter lengths like Super NFL. Still an old school gamer here (cartridges only) but some day I may need to look into emulation. Especially since it takes nearly two hours to complete a Super Pro Football game!
  11. As a guy who never wishes to play with another human again.........what is your suggestion for the perfect CPU / Me setting? I just played a half with me at 2 and the CPU at 5.....I was up 34-12, 505 yards passing and 44 yards rushing. I write these types of things down and my best (most evenly competed) game was when I was a 1 and the CPU was a 5. I am very competent (I think) with the finer points of the game. But when you ramp up the settings to 8 or 9 the CPU is basically unstoppable on offense. Just curious......how do you pros play this sweet game? And OMG.....won't somebody fix THIS game too to allow for shorter quarters?!?!?!? :-)
  12. The problem I encounter playing Basketbrawl is that I start to wish that the punks clean up their act, grab the basketball and head to a high school gym to play a real game! No knives beings thrown and the ref would call fouls. I wish that was a game option! Maybe the issue is that I have a hard time suspending my disbelief playing Basketbrawl but it really does leave me craving a real basketball game on the 7800. One on One doesn't really count for this, right? A new Basketbrawl re-release with a scared-straight option? I'd buy it!

  22. If only to prove that I could, I played another complete game of Touchdown Football yesterday. Why hasn't someone fixed this game yet? The few obvious tweaks that are needed (not that I would know how to address them): Speed up the players Allow passes to be thrown for more than 10 yards Have the option to make meaningful running plays Make PATs and Field Goals a little more realistic by actually making most of them! I know this is an EA port. This game looks good but plays poorly. On a system that has no good sports games I would think Touchdown Football would be a good choice to fix this. I'd pay $40 for an updated version!
