  1. CV and INTV Flashbacks are $20 at Sam's Club. Well, at least at my local Sam's.
  2. I am putting new switches into an old Roland sampler I've had since 1990. While it's apart I considered taking out the red LED's and going to blue. Maybe I'll do the ones on the keypad and leave the patch buttons red.
  3. I have an unopened 2007 Mystery car.
  4. Blue LEDs are more played out than the phrase "played out."
  5. I haven't tried this one yet but I have one of the NES pads GoldenAxe converted to 7800 and it works fine on CV. The D subs were easy to put in. Drilled a hole just about the height of the connector and took out the rest with a Dremel.
  6. There might be room for the board if the battery box is cut out. I haven't gotten that far yet. So far the stock controller is only used to select levels. I couldn't tell you the last time I played an overlay game. Could have been when the games were new! I think the keypad is the sticking point. I looked up the dimensions and I don't think there is room on the top of the case for the pad. I had disassembled a SA controller and that pad won't fit either. At least not where I want it.
  7. That's why the buttons are missing on the right side of the Astrocade controller. That was going to be a CV controller but my original idea wasn't going to work out. I still have a couple ideas though, and two of Grips' PC boards to play with. I have two more RSI's and I will make another CV and Astrocade controller so I'll have a pair of each. When I find RSI's on eBay for a nice price I'll snag a couple more.
  8. Take an excellent Radica Space Invaders and gut it... and add a little twist I kept thinking "why am I cutting up these extension cords?" when D sub connectors are stupid cheap. So I wired up a pass through for a stock controller and can leave the extension cords plugged in to the CV full time. Also converted a RSI to use on my Astrocade. Just stick for now, until I figure out a pot option I like. I will move the inner button to the right side and fill in the holes. Leaving the extension cords plugged into the Astrocade is an even better idea since the ports are buried on the back panel.
  9. Okay. Maybe going through a hole, and having to avoid a Recognizer, or corral a tank? Then advance to another lightcycle grid. That way it's just not an endless loop of defeating enemy cycles and starting another grid. Not talking about anything not in the movie, like adding a gun to the cycle. Either outrunning our out-maneuvering an enemy while traveling between grids.
  10. That's weird. I've used some pretty ratty and/or thin RCA cables and they worked.
  11. CV and INTV Flashbacks have arrived at Sam's Club in Mentor, Ohio. Bottom shelf under the Skylanders/Infinity display.
  12. Nothing at Sam's Club in Mentor, OH. Last year I saw Flashbacks near the PS/Xbox/Wii games. Today I looked there, in the aisles, and in the holiday and toy aisles. Nada. TRU nearby had two CV's and one INTV.
  13. Let's all try random LCD monitors? I have a Samsung SyncMaster that I should try.
  14. So this is a direct replacement for a 1224? I finally wired up a cable for my Roland S-50 to 1224, and it works great, but an LCD would mount to a keyboard stand so much better.
  15. Any smaller and it's going to be yanked off a shelf during gameplay, or the weight of the controllers and cord could pull it off. I remember the first time I opened our 2600 and saw how empty it was inside...
  16. Like later Christmas day...$500 in toys spread out across the floor, and the kid wants to play with the boxes!
  17. None at TRU in Mayfield, Ohio. They had three CV FB's though.
