Well, you technically added another hidden paddle game, making it 43, so why not, was this also a time issue or would that have cost more, what? Because an Atari Flashback 2+ with 50 games could've sounded so much better! Hey Curt, Just curious, how come even more Atari owned sports games couldn't have been added? Bowling Golf Realsports Tennis Realsports Volleyball Thanks again, Rick Vendl II

Which was not Debro's game. He ported it from a game that appeared in Compute! magazine. There were licensing issues with the Compute! owners. This is one of the prime reasons I keep warning authors and others on here about not working with properties you don't own, or getting permission first. It always come back to bite you. In this case, it also bit us. Hence, no Atari Climber. According to this guy, Compute! is now public domain, unless he is wrong or something has changed since March of 2008. History on the COMPUTE! Gazette Series of Magazines: Compute Publications Formed on 1/8/1979 COMPUTE! Magazine, in May 1988 changed its focus to PC's and their clones. In the early 1990's COMPUTE! was sold to General Media. Ziff Davis bought COMPUTE!'s assets in 1994 and General Media had stopped publications before the sale. Compute!'s Gazette Magazine ceased publication entirely after 1995. Compute Publications International, Ltd. was administratively dissolved and suspended, and in March 2008, Ziff Davis Media, Inc. announced it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and subsequently dissolved. All contents of the COMPUTE! Gazette series have fallen into Public Domain. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 160397344297 Rick Vendl II

FB2+ game lineup, my guess...
TrekkiELO replied to TrekkiELO's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
While you are correct regarding Super Baseball, you're dead wrong about Super Football, it has 3-D graphics and an important transitional game for its time, Realsports Football is only 2D, thus inferior! Rick -
FB2+ game lineup, my guess...
TrekkiELO replied to TrekkiELO's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Believe it or not, certain sport titles and some others from the list are among what popular culture remembers. Intellivision didn't have any trouble selling their 10 unit with "poor sports games". I have absolutely no interest to buy another Atari ROM chip system that includes games I already got on previous Flashbacks like what Jakk's Pacific does for its Namco TV Games line. 3D Tic-Tac-Toe (Flashback 2) Adventure (Flashback 1 & 2) Air-Sea Battle (Flashback) Asteroids (Flashback 2) Battlezone (Flashback 1 & 2) Breakout (Flashback 1) Canyon Bomber (Flashback) Centipede (Flashback 2) Combat (Flashback 2) Crystal Castles (Flashback) Dodge 'Em (Flashback 2) Gravitar (Flashback) Hangman (Flashback 2) Haunted House (Flashback 1 & 2) Human Cannonball (Flashback 2) Maze Craze (Flashback 2) Millipede (Flashback 1 & 2) Missile Command (Flashback 2) Off the Wall (Flashback 2) Outlaw (Flashback 2) Quadrun (Flashback 2) Radar Lock (Flashback 2, listed in my original message by mistake) Sky Diver (Flashback) Saboteur (Flashback 1 & 2) Secret Quest (Flashback 2) Solaris (Flashback) Space War (Flashback 2) Sprintmaster (Flashback) Warlords (Flashback 1 & 2) Yars' Revenge (Flashback 1 & 2) -
Going by what's left of the Atari catalog minus licensed and third party games requiring a joystick in alphabetical order! Atari Video Cube Basketball Bowling Championship Soccer Dark Chambers Double Dunk Flag Capture Football Golf Home Run Math Gran Prix Midnight Magic Miniature Golf MotoRodeo Radar Lock Realsports Baseball Realsports Boxing Realsports Football Realsports Soccer Realsports Tennis Realsports Volleyball Slot Machine Slot Racers Star Ship Super Baseball Super Football Surround Swordquest: Earthworld Swordquest: Fireworld Swordquest: Waterworld Video Pinball 32 games, still leaves more than enough room for new, unreleased, rarities, hacks, paddle along with Activision titles! IF AKA NDA, right Curt? Rick Vendl II

Making an offer on a friend's Flashback
TrekkiELO replied to Gigabyte's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Maybe he means the jakks paddle version. It has circus atari (and arcade warlords) and is, IMO, the best of the Jakks games. Could be, then, in addition to the Atari Paddle other great Jakk's Pacific TV Games are Namco Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Retro Arcade Pac-Man, Activision and The Price Is Right! Rick -
My sentiments exactly! Indeed, that is a good one, the Commodore 64 on a chip similar to what Curt's Flashback 2 did with an Atari 2600 chipset. Signed, Rick

IS The FB3 project still alive?
TrekkiELO replied to Animan's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
No, never said that. Again, can't give out any details other than not to take the fact there's no announcement on Atari's site yet at face value. Thanks for your responses, I understand and look forward to a Flashback 2 Plus in 2010 by whomever releases it! Rick -

Which only states that there's possibly more going on with it than just a straight Atari release. So it sounds like it's going to be a Jakk's Pacific release then like the Paddles that Curt worked on? Just curious! PM or email me @ [email protected] Thanks in advance, Rick -

LOL, riiiight. That's why they did the Jakk's sticks (including the current new version), the paddles, the keychain plug and plays, the FB1, the FB2, and the previously mentioned 2+..... There is a new version?! I have seen one and it's just the original 10 games by DC Studios in Jakk's new clear package with a white plastic handle. Also, Atari has yet to announce any release date for Flashback 2 plus. Rick -
I saw this box at Target today, one big difference from that blister pack version is there's now a big easily scratchable sticker around its actual joystick flat top instead of the premolded on artwork and printing with only one small Pac-Man label! Rick and if I remember correctly, the texture of the plastic at the top of the base is different, but other than that, they look the same. This is what I meant, that's not different texture, look very closely, there's a huge crappy black sticker now! I agree that these new boxes are way better than those nasty blister packs, also see my other reply right before this one and "The Price is Right" with Drew Carey as host is one of their 2009 TV Games. Rick Thanks for the heads-up on the The Price Is Right TV Game. I haven't seen it at any of the Targets or Wal-Marts in my area (they don't have any of Jakks' new TV Games aside from that single Namco 5 in the new box at one Target). Would you be able to tell me who the developer is? If you have it yourself, you can look at the logos at the boot screens, or if you don't have it, I'd appreciate it if you would look at the back or bottom of the package next time you see it in a store. I track the developer info in my plug-n-play listing file. onmode-ky HotGen Contestant's Row, The Showcase Showdown that also includes Big Wheel Button which sticks out from its controller base, The Showcase itself, stage backgrounds, music along with the included pricing games are all excellent reproductions, both sound effects and looks. Any Number Cliff Hangers Double Prices Dice Game Flip Flop Grand Game Grocery Game Hi-Lo Hole in One Lucky $even Money Game One Away Pick a Pair Plinko Punch a Bunch Range Game Three Strikes When you win each game or do well enough, they will unlock to allow separate play. It has some speech of Drew Carey ("The Actual Retail Price Is", "Hold My Hand. Say Alakazam!", "You Have To Say Oh Mighty Sound Effects Person Do I Have At Least One Right?" & "Want To Say Hi To Anybody At Home?") then, Rich Fields ("Here It Comes!", "Come on Down!", "You're The Next Contestant On The Price Is Right", "Take A Look. It's A New Car!", "It's A Chance To Win Upto $25,000 In Cash", "And Now Here's Drew Carey With Our Showcase Showdown" & "And This Showcase Can Be Your's, If The Price Is Right") however, no models, except silhouettes. Still great for any longtime PIR fans like me! Rick

I had a very interesting telephone conversation with Jakk's Pacific yesterday and had them look at this picture, they said it didn't exist, insisting that their most recent version was Edition 4 Arcade Gold Pac-Man. Retro Arcade featuring Pac-Man

This is true. You end up with overlapping titles among several tv games units. Ugh. The Nintendo pirates sometimes have better game variety, but still with bad games in their consoles. Jakks did announce their license of the Williams and post-1984 Atari arcade games from Midway, but underutilized it by only producing an individual controller for Mortal Kombat, Gamestop even had its own Williams TV Games (Sinistar, Defender, etc) preorder link put up, but then, just like that, was taken down, what a waste JAKKS Pacific Secures Games License From Midway For TV Games MALIBU, Calif. February 16, 2004 -- JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAKK) announced today that the Company has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with Midway to produce a version of JAKKS TV Games based on classic Midway® titles. TV Games is a plug and play gaming system that contains multiple classic games in one single controller. Midway TV Games will feature top-selling Midway games, including Mortal Kombat®, Spy Hunter®, Rampage®, Joust®, Defender® I & II, Robotron:2084®, Marble Madness®, Smash TV, Super Sprint and Paperboy®. All that is needed are batteries and a TV -- No videogame consoles and no gaming cartridges are required. Simply plug TV Games into the A/V jacks of any standard television set, turn on and play. The lightweight, compact, all-inclusive controller, houses a combination of videogames with all of the hardware built right into the controller. This technology allows gaming fans to enjoy a number of videogames with just one single purchase. We are excited by the response to the TV Games platform from the nations gaming community, commented Jennifer Richmond, senior vice president of licensing, JAKKS Pacific. Midway TV Games will debut at International Toy Fair 2004, and is expected to retail for approximately $20.00. For more information on JAKKS Pacifics TV Games line, please go to www.jakkstvgames.com.

Jakks Pacific Namco Ms Pac-Man Super Gamekey Combo
TrekkiELO replied to TrekkiELO's topic in Dedicated Systems
Yes and Galaxian is finally more accurate on Pac-Man Arcade Gold as well! -
No, they are not interchangeable.
-
That was a Wal-Mart exclusive, however, Jakk's Super Pac-Man and Pac-Man Arcade Gold joysticks, both in stores now, also include the same version you are looking for.
