Well, I do enjoy the Atari Flashback's 7800 console and joystick looking similar to their originals along with its games, Asteroids, Centipede, Desert Falcon, Charley Chuck's Food Fight and Planet Smashers, but that's about it!

We've come (pretty much) to the end of 2013, and it was indeed the deadest year in plug-n-play in a long time. After Black Friday, Jakks Pacific's Duck Commander and Star Wars Clone Trooper light gun games were joined in the 2013 new product lineup by two AtGames releases, the Atari Flashback 64 and a 60-in-1 version of the Sega Genesis Classic Game Console (both being wired-controller, fewer-games versions of 2012 AtGames products, namely the Atari Flashback 4 and the 80-in-1 Genesis, respectively).

Could you please post a link for the 2013 AtGames Sega Genesis Classic Game Console with 60 games and wired controllers? I've yet to see it!

-
I did receive word that nothing new will make it out in 2013. All the new stuff will be in 2014. It will be a big year for them. They're considering new names for some of their product line as well.
Since AtGames has their licenses, the Colecovision one will hopefully contain Sega arcade conversions like Turbo, Zaxxon, Carnival, Up'n Down, Congo Bongo, Space Fury and Subroc along with Taito's Front Line.
Possibilities
Universal
Cosmic Avenger
Lady Bug
Mr. Do!
Space Panic
Exidy
Mousetrap
Pepper II

I saw this system at a Walmart store yesterday and noticed something interesting printed on the side:
The versions of SPACE INVADERS™, JUNGLE HUNT™, FRONT LINE™, and POLARIS™ included in the Atari Flashback® 64 are based on those created for the ATARI 2600® and therefore may differ in appearance and performance from the original arcade and console editions developed by TAITO Corporation.
Was this printed on the FB4 box, too? If it's something new with the FB64, then it seems like a specific statement that the Space Invaders in the system is the original 2600 game this time, rather than the arcade-styled rendition that was on the FB4. Can someone check it out?

Saw it yesterday, except what you read, it's indeed there printed on the side of both Atari Flashback 4s from that so-called Sam's Club (Exclusive, yeah right, not) this year along with their 40th Anniversary one from 2012, so "based on those created for the Atari 2600 and therefore may differ in appearance and performance from the original arcade and console editions developed by TAITO Corporation" is key!

Other than no Breakout and no Millipede, I don't really notice any omissions.
Also
Blackjack
Crystal Castles
Football
Pong
Return to Haunted House
Slot Machine
Slot Racers
Stellar Track
Street Racer

Did the Flashback 3 have Start Select On/Off & Reset on the wired contrioller?
The back if this box shows a controller like this.
No.
I saw that too, but forgot to mention it!
Another possibility, maybe it's pirated?
-
Sounds like it's basically a Flashback 3, since it had 60 games with wired joysticks, that now has the three Taito games Space Invaders, Jungle Hunt and Front Line included plus an extra game selected from 4's other additional 12, then another one to replace Secret Quest, maybe some kind of early prototype version, I wonder, hmmm...

Does that one have a cart port? If so, there are most likely a few cart games that will have errors, or not run at all. That system is a "Genesis on a chip", it is not 100% completely compatible. They do a decent job, for the most part, though. Built-in games should run ok.
It all depends on if you already have a bunch of games, you'd be better off with a full Genesis, CD, 32X system. If you don't have any games, 80 games for $39 sounds pretty good.
I had a little hand held one with a cart port, and had fun playing Beavis & Butthead on it

Do Tengen game cartridges run on the AtGames Genesis cart port, in specific, Paperboy and Paperboy 2?

Either message me here at the Atari Age forums or via email [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]

Someone has uploaded the whole thing on youtube, in like 12 parts... If you can't find a copy, that may be a route you could take..
1 part, full film, fantastic flick, still holds up, I also wanted the game "cartridge" back in 1984, never heard of tape except cassette games here!

It was filmed in Henry Thomas' hometown of San Antonio, Texas.

Paddles?...I haven't seen any advertised with paddles, just the sticks.
Paddles, yessir!
http://www.atgames.us/ATARI-Flashback-4-Deluxe-OUT-OF-STOCK-AR2670X.htm

Includes two classic paddles!
Copy of the original patent signed by Nolan Bushnell!
Is at Sam's Club in San Berdoo, SoCal for $38.98!
-
To answer part 2 of my own question, Millipede, but I already have it on the Atari Flashback 2 & 2+, so it's not worth around $10-20 more for only one exclusive bonus game and no paddles or about $10-15 extra with their 20% off Black Friday coupon!
-
The extra game is at Bed,Bath and Beyond. I don't know what game it is though.

Thank you sir, God bless ya!

Here we are less than 2 weeks away from Black Friday and still no word in leaked ads online or elsewhere from...
AtGames
Amazon
Wal-Mart
Target
Toys R Us
Best Buy
Bed, Bath & Beyond
Walgreens
Rite-Aid
Dollar General
Urban Outfitters
Hastings
So which one will it be already?!

-
My local Wal-Mart has these for $29.99 now.
*edit: correction, the ones at my Wal-Mart are the Flashback 3 units. However, in one of the FB4 threads here, it has been said that Rite Aid has the new ones for $29.99.
Indeed, that was me, also with a similar reply in this thread, I got mine on sale for $29.99, right now they are regularly priced at $39.99!
-
Yes, it's been available publicly at Rite-Aid since late September or early October as I bought 1 on 9/29 for a sale price of $29.99!
-
The basic or standard edition of Atari's Flashback 4 by AtGames is now at Rite-Aid for $29.99!
As far as I know, the Flashback 4 isn't officially released yet. Our Rite-Aid has #3 though.
Like I said in my last reply that you just quoted above, it's an Atari Flashback 4 basic/standard edition by AtGames at a Fontana, SoCal Rite-Aid, they had about 9 for $29.99 each and 3 Atari Flashback 3s which cost $39.99!

Part 2 of my video review for the Atari Flashback 4 is now up: http://www.armchaira...m/neo/node/4902
Bill,
Was there any particular reason why you said 80 games in your review, are there more secret or hidden games not already mentioned?

OK, I just got good info from AtGames. I'll try to post a video with all the info in the next few days. If not, I'll just post what I know here. It's all around the pricing that we suspected, though.
Thanks Bill, have they told you an actual release date and what stores, like Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Toys R Us or Wal-Mart, just so we know when to start looking for Atari Flashback 4s locally?
No release date, but definitely by November. If I get an exact date, I'll let you know. Retailers should include Amazon, Urban Outfitters, Hastings, 7th Avenue, Bed Bath & Beyond, the AtGames Website, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. I'm not sure if every retailer will carry every product, though. Most likely most will only have the console, and Amazon and the AtGames Website will have the extra controllers. I guess we'll see.
Well the Atari Flashback 3 was first at Rite-Aid, then Walgreens, Dollar General and Toys R Us late last year, but not in Wal-Mart until 2012.

Bill, do you have a ballpark MSRP on the wired joysticks and paddles?
Also, and I don't know if this has been mentioned or if its a stupid question, but are the paddles each in a set of two like the originals?
Indeed they are, I believe Bill made mention of it earlier in the thread.

Right, the law is the law, whether one agrees with it or not. "Abandonware" and all those other concepts are just terms we in the classic computing and gaming communities use as justifications for our actions. Practically, we're usually right, literally, we're usually not.
Exactly, I agree with all of your points, true indeed, thanks Bill, can you please respond to my reply about the games from page 2?
Also, are those dual paddles infrared as well and included with Atari Flashback 4s?
Where is that new part 2 review, at YouTube yet?
