If you download the gimp - it's free at http://www.gimp.org/ - you can use the 8bitclassics.com Atari label template psd files from Corey at http://www.8bitclassics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6 to make your own labels.
Cheers,
Tony
We are working on general instructions over the holiday's one how to setup any graphics program to make a label. We use Avery DesignPro (http://www.avery.com/us/Main?action=software.AverySoftwareDetail&catalogcode=WEB01&softwarecode=3200) for the actual printing. Our instructions have the settings to print using this software. We also have the publisher document (which PacManPlus created). We haven't gotten into that much, so that isn't uploaded yet.

Thanks guys
I'm using the labels from 8 Bit Classics (pre-sized) and Microsoft Publisher to do the layouts.
The only problem is those labels only support laser printers, so I had to secretly use the laser printer at work to print them.

You know, I really need to watch the forums more often. I have been to busy lately. Anyway, these have turned out nicely!
As for labels, I plan on ordering the glossy inkjet's after January 1st finally. Will hold off on the Matte labels as I think more people will be interested in the gloss as they resemble the originals better. I can also get clear labels reproduced, but not sure what usage they would have.

I have a few brand new Atari 400 keyboards for sale at $10 each plus shipping ($4 priority mail within the states). If interested, PM me. I just refurbed a 400 myself with a new keyboard, new RCA cable, and will be upgrading the memory to 48K. Will probably do a few of these and sell on my site.

Was browsing the mall and went into Spencer Gifts and noticed something wonderful. Kind of reproductions of the old Frogger Tabletop game. Here is a link to one online:
http://www.backtobasicstoys.com/item/productid/5982/
They also had Space Invaders and a Family Guy Tabletop game.
The Space Invaders allowed to scroll to different screens left and right which I thought was unique.

Thanks
I will be adding command keys when I get time later on.Corey

Pretty simple to do, many instructions on the net. Atari is only mono sound, so you would have to put the left and right onto the one DIN pin.

It is a photoshop file which I thought would be able to be opened in other apps. This is only true if it is flattened. It uses layers which makes for easy editing. Also what AtariBoy uses for his labels I believe mostly now. I am recreating these in GiMP format, but will be a slow process. Working on the 2600 cartridges first.

Hey 8bit! is there anyway you can make me lots of labels? I had no color printers as of now Im been only making labels and nothing else:( Can you help?
BTW hows you like the labels I just posted today at your forum?
Yes I do printing, have to check my site. You have to purchase the blanks and the printing per page. If it is large quantity, we can talk printing discounts.

The label template seems to be 13.54 inches wide x 16.15 inches tall, I cannot edit that and print without resizing so much it looks horible. Any chance of a template that it proper 2.75 inch wide x 3.40 tall ? I'm using MS paint and I'm faithfull to it. Also what font do you use for the "7800" part? And I take it that the "ATARI" is just typed in simple atarian font correct?I am guessing you are looking at the JPG. Reason is because it is 300 DPI instead of the normal 72/75 whatever Paint uses. The reason at 300 DPI of course is because of quality when printing, the lower the DPI, the grainier it will look. I would recommend switching from Paint.

Very nice. I'm still trying to decide which version I like the best. Would you ever release your high-res print versions of these?
Now I know what I'm going to do with those 50 pac-man carts.
By the way, anybody know a good but cheap laser printer that will print out nice adhesive-backed labels?
Allan
Dell 3100CN is what I have. HP also has a very reasonable printer. Ink isn't cheap though.

I don't get up here like I should. Anyway, yes, the labels are rounded to almost exactly the same as real 2600 / 5200 / 7800 labels. I only have in stock laser printer gloss labels right now as I feel they are better quality and don't run. InkJet gloss will be next on my list to produce and finally matte/silver labels. Silver labels are high shine which don't make them exactly the same as the 2600 variations.
I just finished the instructions for the most part on creating/printing. Also, templates in Photoshop format and high quality JPG's are available for download in our forums (http://www.8bitclassics.com/forum). AtariBoy is now posting full quality labels that he is producing in his threads up there also.
Here is one that we printed/recreated for a user:

Yes, it is the HD, but you will need to mod it to get a new one working. As the HD is tied to the motherboard, only a modchip can be used to allow a different HD to be installed. But that add's some nice features like installing games on the HD to play (instead of disk), emulators, etc.
Otherwise, you might wait until next month, rumor is Microsoft will be dropping the Xbox down to $99 to clearance them out and to compete with Sony who is also rumored.

Got to play one last night, First played Call of Duty 2. Not really a WW2 FPS person, but it was fun. Faces looked more realistic than I have seen in Xbox, PS2, GameCube. Also a lot more action than I am accustomed to in current gen. It is more compared to a high end PC with an expensive graphics card. I think that is what Microsoft is getting at. $400 for a $2000 computer, definitely.
King Kong was kind of fun, graphics were grainy and weren't really impressed. But the dinosaur chasing me was kind of cool.
Didn't get a chance to play Kameo, though have read it was the a game to get.
The wife approved of me getting one
yay for me
and looking at getting Condemned by Sega / Monolith. Just saw the trailer this week, looks damn good and next gen. Especially if you have played FEAR, looks great. I highly recommend checking out the trailers at Gamespot if you haven't seen it.
Perfect Dark Zero by MS. Sorry an FPS whore

Project Gotham 3 or Ridge Racer 6 - Like Ridge Racer more myself, but will see if it is available day one.
And thinking of Tiger Woods 2k6.
I am hoping I can plug in a USB keyboard/mouse to play the FPS games. I hate the controller for that.

Forgot to mention, wife is allowing me to get a Xbox 360. Hopefully my SUV will have enough power to handle it
Saw the demo to Condemned which should be out on day 1, looks good! Sucks I will only have it for a day and half before I start driving for two days.Corey

Too bad you have to haul a family across the country... If it were just yourself, you could use Google Maps and plot out all sorts of great places to stop along the way. It would be kind of difficult to deal with children while stopping over and over at flea markets and videogame stores here and there. When I get the chance to go down to visit my sister's family, I find all the flea markets and thrift stores along my route. I can also find any restaurants along the route that have free Wi-Fi, so I can websurf while I eat. I don't know how I planned long drives without Google Maps.Well kind of have to take them on a family trip. Cool thing is they mostly enjoy stopping at thrifts now if they have money to spend
Kids like finding cheap toys. But won't be able to stop at many. Probably just follow the route and if I see anything, will stop for a "bathroom break". I know in the Tampa area, there is a few flea markets, so maybe I will find some items there.Corey

Being one that's become quite the veteran of family long trips(yikes been at it for 15 years!) I feel for ya, man..Here's an idea you might enjoy and could help with bringing along the FB2.. I couldn't find it on Radio Shack's webpage, but it's an adapter that you plug into the car's lighter power outlet and then the opposite end has a reguler house 3 pronged outlet. It's awesome for car trips since it's strong enough to power a Nomad, laptop and a small TV or anything else with not a lot of wattage(haven't tried the FB2 yet, maybe this winter). I think it was around $50, well worth the money to keep the kids at bay on long trips.
Saw one at Wal-Mart for $17, didn't pick it up, but maybe I will. Need something for my laptop also when the wife is driving.

Wife and her family are from Madison. I live about 1 1/2 hours southwest of Madison. Very nice town. Lot of thrifts, but very expensive usually. And lots to do, especially if you are a Badgers fan
The whole town is pretty much red for the Badgers. It does have a few video game stores like Pre-Played on both the west and east of Madison. Another that escapes me right now, but has more classics (but more expensive) which the one on the east site is next to Target in a strip mall, and the west side store is near the West Towne mall behind the ShopKo store in a strip mall.Moving to Madison for a job? Where from?

I am driving with the family over Thanksgiving from Wisconsin down to Florida. I know it is hard to say which route, but wondering if any good places to stop at that has classics at least in the Tampa Bay / Orlando area? Will be heading down on the west side of Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, etc. Should be an interesting drive to say the least with a 6 year old and 4 year old. Just picked up a dual-screen portable DVD player that comes with a 25 game joystick. Will probably take couple of the Namco PnP sticks for them to play also. Wish the FB2 ran off of batteries.

Awsome, Thanks for the info Curt!! I love the little hints here and there you sly fellow you
Brand new carts made by ATARI, I can't wait
I think he mentioned this in FB3. Don't expect normal Atari carts, more of a mini/custom cart like maybe a compact flash or SD size. Hoping something a little bit bigger so won't be so easy to loose. Personally I am hoping for say 20 games per cart.

Thanks, that would be great. He said I believe the October issue which I have been trying to find a copy of the cover or index to see if it was in it. But haven't turned up anything yet.

Sorry, don't see how the controller can be comfortable? I think Nintendo has something making it's entire library available for download, but that really will be about it. They aren't geared towards a broad market, they are continuing towards the fanboys and the younger crowd. Microsoft is trying to do the all in one, and Sony is just overhyping again. Will own all of course, but I was most impressed with the Xbox with the last gen and feel that three full 3GHz cores will be better than 1 3GHz cores and 10 DSPs.
