Google, Microsoft, and all the gaming industry financial analysts seem convinced that streaming is the future of video games, and yet I haven't met a single person who actually plays video games that wants a streaming console. Most of the US doesn't even have the 20 mb per second internet speed infrastructure needed to support streaming games.

It's becuase they WANT game streaming to be the future, becuase it puts them in control of what games we have to play. 'Yes, we know you spent $80 to access the DLC for Fortnite of Battle Duty 5, but that game's moved to the premium level- you need to pay another $30 a month for service, or the game & all your DLC money is just gone forever.'

And that is when I either go full retro or run up the skull & crossbones.

I used to say the same thing about DLC, and then all sorts of games were released that way, with no disc. Never say never.
