Master Builder for about 8 dollars canadian. (and yes, this game is hard) Also a mint XE game system with everything, light gun too for 10 bucks, hiding in the back of a thrift store in a bag, the only reason I saw it is because I'm nosey.....

I have about 340 Atari games, not huge but not too shabby? Before ebay it was harder to find very rare games, but if you did find one, it was CHEAPER than they are today. ALso I was not aware of alot of games out there, there was little information. Before the internet really took off around 1995 the only place I could find games was flea markets or the paper. And I hardly ever found anything. I didn't really bother collecting for Atari during the 90's, until 1999. The last Atari game I had bought in a store new was in 1992 or so and then they completely dissapeared from the stores. I think all the information out there on vintage games has increased the prices. It's still possible to find atari games, regardless of rarity, for 2 dollars, but that for me, is getting very difficult as everyone now wants to get the most buck for these games, that arent really that rare to begin with. Lately I've seen alot of games that are NOT rare at flea makets going for 20-60 dollars!!! That is ridiculous....and it sucks because I'm not collecting games to sell them, I'm just collecting for the fun of it! I would certainly start collecting Atari games today! hell ya!

Those are some crazy stories dudes. I found Star Raiders for $1.00 canadian sealed in box with the video touch pad, they had 10 of them, so I bought all 10 - what the hell! , also for $1 in the same store I found Star Raiders and Defender sealed in box for the Atari 400/800/XL computers. So I bought 10 of those too! I dunno why but I couldn't help myself. I guess I'll sell or give them away one day. Keeping some for "collectors" sake.

Well then how about an electric mug-warmer/hot plate on the flat surface of the atari? Its just space asking to be usefull! Or maybe the whole thing opens and theres a small storage compartment inside. You can put your weed in there. Acutually I would have liked to see Archon or something similar on the 2600. I'm sure it can be done.

There is ONE difference between Atari Guides Power Supply and Best Electronics, It looks like Best Electronics uses the actual ORIGINAL supplys while Atari Guide makes duplicates or new ones to the same specs... am I correct here?

That's how I got mine.. off Atari Guides Ebay store. It's a good product. I actually modified my 7800 to work with a more common power supply temporarily, then I got one from Atari Guide and replaced the original terminal, re-soldered it back and voila! ....

Hi and welcome to the world of ancient video games! It's been 6 years since I re-started my Atari collection and one thing I've learned is this: there were ALOT of games for the 2600 I never even heard of! Also I never knew flea markets were so fun. (I'm getting old) I also have a gamecube, and its funny but one pixel of a gamecube game probably takes up more memory than several Atari games combined.. doh!

Millipede is really just Centipede on steroids. But you can't beat the original as far as I'm concerned. If it hadn't been for the 1984 crash we may have seen Decipede and Kilopede, ...

They will still be finding new prototypes and strange foreign 2600 games 400 years from now.. people will be like, "What the hell is this, some kind of cartridge? It says Atari on it? Oh yeah! I think I have a 430 year old atari system in the basement, last time it was turned on was 150 years ago and it worked, hold on I'll check..." No one will ever beat the KING of systems.... No, and I've never paid more than $25 Canadian for any of my 250 Atari games. I suppose I will eventually but I always find stuff for cheap.. just gotta wait... wait... wait....

It's kinda cool, especially for newbie ebayers and or newbie collectors. But for sure, a more seasoned collector has his/her own tricks for finding stuff on-line ...

Hey, yeah those genius carts had extra music styles, thats it I believe. They were automatic accompinaments. If the price is right you can pick up one of those old lowreys for peanuts and they are fun and sound great. I hadn't realized they were the same looking carts as the Atari carts. Very interesting. The genuis cartridge line of Lowreys were made in the 80's and 90's I'm pretty sure.

I use the same 1983 2600 Joysticks I've had for ever. I have had to do some repairs over the years, they are still very much in-tact. Those have got to be the best cheap joysticks ever made.

I beat it with my friend (RIP), around 1984? We didn't really cheat but I did ask a friend of mine who had finished the game for one hint cause we were stuck. At the time that was a fun game, state of the art. Now beating Fireworld was another story.

Wow I've never seen such a mint Activision. You know what it is? It's Im in Canada, and you guys are in the States where its easier to find this stuff I'm guessing....

It's sad but true. However if you find a mint activison label today, you should jump for joy and run around yelling "holy crap!" then fall to your knees and cry like a baby. I've never seen one yet that was mint, but I do have one that is very good, I'm guessing whoever had it never used it and kept it in a quiet dark place for 15 years.
