  1. So someone can't go back to their initial post in a topic and change a list or something? I know I've seen that on these forums .... Weird.
  2. Since editing your own posts doesn't seem possible... https://www.dropbox.com/s/gxj2i5rzc2hrnw3/rv_boss_nes.mp3?dl=0
  3. Ultimate Cross-System Music Test: BupChip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3uxha99ob82b13o/11%201P%20Guardian.mp3?dl=0 2600: (ran out of instruments ) https://www.dropbox.com/s/lr27zsi70z15ra1/b1.mp3?dl=0 NES: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fwdw3qgi3agf537/boss_s_NES.nsf?dl=0 I don't have an MP3 render of the NES one yet but will later today.
  4. Heyyy the TIA can sound OK. I made a couple short renditions of Rikki and Vikki songs for the tia just as an experiment a while ago. Sand Metal
  5. When I was a kid, we had an Atari 1200 XL. My parents threw it away one time when we moved. Congo bongo, dreadnaught factor, zaxxon, pac man... All gone :/
  6. I'm going to assume that the sound chip is one of the less expensive parts of this, as it's just an arm chip that's running software.
  7. I made a thread about this in the Atari 7800 forum, but I'm not sure how much overlap there is with that in this forum. So I thought I would make a thread that I'll keep updating with stuff I write on both forums. https://www.dropbox.com/s/e0kt2uihubvd3h9/dbASF.mp3?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/2xqr51wq3f8rivs/dbAS.bin?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/6z4bhlll8b8s1xw/float.mp3?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/7kec2h0q85fquwe/bigrace.mp3?dl=0
  8. Also made a couple quick tracks for upcoming 2600 homebrews: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6z4bhlll8b8s1xw/float.mp3?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/7kec2h0q85fquwe/bigrace.mp3?dl=0
  9. This would make sense if it weren't for the PowerPak itself. The expansion audio for the actual Famicom was pretty different depending on device and Famicom revision (apparently the AV famicom is twice as loud). However, with the PowerPak, you're modding a NES system that can't normally play expansion audio to do so over a pin that was never really used for that (the PowerPak arbitrarily chose that pin- if you use other flash carts, it doesn't work unless they chose the same one). Since the PowerPak is emulating these different systems you'd think they would have normalized the volume across all of them, but nope, they're all different, and different PowerPak carts are different too
  10. I have this too. I found that different expansion audio has different volume settings for some reason.

  12. Looking at Craigslist free in my area, tons of CRT TVs 😉
  13. I would think composite would be ideal because it still does the color blending with less snow and blurriness from the RF.
  14. The first trailer that TailChao posted had video recorded from the 7800 through an S-video mod. My video is from the PC version. -PC has stereo audio, 7800 has mono -PC saves your game when you quit, letting you progress from that point when you reload. The 7800 version has no saving. -PC saves high scores -PC has achievements -By default, the PC version has Enhanced Performance on, which adds more bandwidth for Maria. This means no tearing/slowdown, though that's fairly minimal in the 7800 version to begin with. -7800 has color blending, if you are on RF/Composite edit: ehehehe i had this siting in this window for 10 minutes ... then TailChao answers the question 1 minute before I remember to post!
  15. Soundtrack is available at http://RushJet1.com as well!
  16. https://youtu.be/9RRNpKAPWIw Posted the first trailer theme as oscilloscope view. I'll eventually post the whole soundtrack this way.
  17. How does it run in BupSystem? I can't tell because I just have my phone.
  18. Glad you like the trailer!
  19. New trailer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IvuRxK9uro
  20. I'm surprised people aren't just 3D printing them.
  21. Whenever I used to see comparisons of the 7800 and the NES, I would think there is no comparison, even graphically. Every game I see for the 7800 is like single screen tiny graphics or 160 wide mode, which just looks weird and clunky to me. Basically I was expecting to see something kind of like this But never really did. I do realize that a good chunk of that is having an entire art team behind your game versus one or two people though. I think Rikki and Vikki comes the closest to being like an NES game. Hi res, really good animation, and it hides the fact that it only uses seven colors really well. it kind of looks like later NES games that started defaulting to black backgrounds, like Batman and Shatterhand.
  22. I meant that it was the character from number munchers in pac man:
  23. TailChao is the developer, and I'm the composer. I'm the one with NES/Famitracker experience and had not done anything with any Atari consoles before being contacted by him (though I had always been interested, especially in making TIA music).
