  1. So now ebay has changed the layout, the view lists, the Purchase History, the Dispatched bar, and now the Watch List. The Watch List, is now the What the Hell List, because it's a mess. No option to compare, end times nicely buried to make it harder to see.

Perhaps it's not idiots, but dangerous greedy people who want to force their way of thinking on everyone.

I think they're slowly stripping away our ability to be individual, and trying to force us all to be the same.

  3. another update to ebay's user interface and another step back in its usability on a desktop

So now, as of today, you can no longer view "Old Purchase History", and you are forced to use the newer abomination. So, instead of everything on one page, you now have to use the tabs at the top. Great, if you're at the top, but scroll down to view purchases you're watching, and you now have to go back to the top to get more info. Up and down, click to view, click to go back, up and down. It's just one massive cluster-f*ck.

  4. Which of the vintage computer/video game peripherals you own are you using the least, but wish you knew how to use much more? For me the answer is simple, the Atari 1050 floppy drive.

Archimedes A3000 internal HD with 1Gb SDCard. I simply have forgot how to use a Archie.

It's just awful. If, like me, you browse by ending soon, or newly listed, the listings have no info like they did before. So now you don't know if items are just ending, or just listed. Why would they do that ? And no longer upto 200 ads per page ? I only see less than 50.

True. One of my mates got that close to what DZ-Jay said, and it was her fault - she had a brief fling, not him. Yet, she would have got the house and kids.

  7. Were tablets a fad? I don't really hear to much about them these days, and haven't really used one myself in about 3-4 years.

  8. Tonight I tried using Google Street View to go look at the house I grew up in and the places I spent time at when I was young, none of which I've laid eyes on in almost 15 years. It was a strange experience, more sad than nostalgic. Seeing everything that had changed and how even the things that hadn't were different than I remember them being. I guess you really can't ever go home again.

Me and my old school mate from early 80s, often use Google Street View to look up old videogame company's addresses found on the back of 80s tape games.

Sometimes we find modern offices, but sometimes we find a house - so some of these companies used to work in their homes.

  9. Feeling pretty sour right now. The Genesis I got at a yard sale years ago has a screw attached to the heat sink/shield that's so rusty that it's practically cemented into place. Nothing moves it, nothing! How the hell can I do an S-video mod on this thing with the sink in the way?

    1. 80s_Atari_Guy

      80s_Atari_Guy

RGB looks good, far better than S-Video on a LCD.

  10. Can't wait to hear about all the imminent Retron77 firmware updates. Typical of today: updates that "fix" one thing, while breaking several others. You guys and gals have fun with that! I'll *still* be enjoying the real thing.

      Don't forget HDMI.

It will come with not 1, not 3, but 7 HDMI ports, just to be sure.

And 8k, upscaling, with 64x AA, and 128x AF.

And everyone's popular, but never wanted shader, chromatic aberration. And bloom, more bloom than the sun.

Yes folks, the Rectum77, will have everyone bending over and taking it up the rectum.

I'll also be sticking with the real deal, rather than the Rectum77.

  12. Bubblegum Ice Cream is delicious. It's so hot here at 9.30pm, I just can't stop raiding the freezer. And, I'm running out of cones.

Anyway, I just took the dog for a 2-mile walk, earlier on, so hopefully I walked it all off.

  14. Parts arriving tomorrow to build an Arduino-powered SDrive-MAX for my A8 machines. Should be fun!

    1. 80s_Atari_Guy

      80s_Atari_Guy

Wow, that sounds fairly easy. I do have a temperamental 1010 SIO cable, so I just need to meter which end it is and use that.

Did you use the Elegoo UNO touch screen ? These are the only ones I can find in the UK that work with the Arduino.

  15. The Atari Flashback just became the Atari FLUSHback. I kept a few parts and the joysticks but the rest went in the trash. At least a bit of the plastic helped me fill in that gap in my other crappy Flashback product...

    1. 80s_Atari_Guy

      80s_Atari_Guy

Me and a mate both have heavy 6-shooters, and CX40 joysticks. His kids are 8 and 10 years old, and love his Atari. Too much, because it takes up his only CRT with RF, so he bought them a Flashback 8 Gold HD. Even his kids, after just a few hours on it, absolutely hate it. They hate the look of it at 720p, and prefer CRT, and hate the wireless sticks. So I told him to just buy another cheap CRT TV.

Could a idiot (Me) build this ? Or does this require lots of soldering ?

How would you go about getting a SIO cable ? Butcher a cheap 1010 cable ?

      More like, Google Spy Machine.

      A Google Console would require.

      A Google Account.

A Google Chrome Browser, and signed in.

A Google Cloud account synced to the console.

      Location services switched.

A Mobile Phone number, to verify your account.

      Your DNA.
