  1. I believe that's one of the reasons why super NT is cheaper than the NT mini. What I mentioned is just a possible solution if you want to connect a 32x on an FPGA Genesis. I do believe Kevin can implement 32x functions on an FPGA Genesis though. He just needs to collaborate with the creators/programmers of the 32x emulators like with Byuu. The transparent one was officially discontinued by Analogue last May.
  2. The Genesis, 32x, Sega CD combo is just complex. That's why I'm eager to see a Sega Neptune prototype someday. Sega Pluto, whether it's true or not, did show up. One solution regarding that is to put the same analog ports from the original Genesis 1 or 2 to the FPGA but I don't think that will happen. No way to output it in digital unless the 32x gets a HDMI mod. All of this is still complicated.
  3. We wouldn't have those issues with the 32x if the Sega Neptune was released. I hope somewhere, someone has the prototype waiting to be revealed just like with the SNES Playstation prototype. Lend it to Kevin and have him reverse engineer it. I haven't read anything about the Neptune being able to connect with the Sega CD though. Next best thing is probably a high end everdrive with super SD system 3 and sd2snes capabilities that can run 32x or Sega CD ISOs.
  4. Sorry, this came out different than what I supposed to say. He didn't mention that the Sega CD and Saturn were not possible with current technology. I believe it's just hard to simulate on an FPGA hardware.
  5. If all connections are present on the FPGA Genesis, it could be possible but Sega CD audio will be separate if the main unit is using HDMI.
  6. I don't see any company selling an FPGA console with CDROM in the near future although kevtris mentioned that the PS1 is possible with current technology unlike Sega CD and Sega Saturn.
  7. Kevtris did say that this is a great product but the only problem is it's incomplete.
  8. I think it's safe to say it's a Sega Genesis/Mega drive FPGA clone since the Genesis mini will be available sion. I think it will have all the features of the super NT except for the dual slot though.
  9. Thanks for the info. I hope someone creates a dedicated PC Engine/TG16 FPGA too
  10. Is the PC Engine core on Mist and Mister FPGA run CDROM games?
  11. We all know our NES, SNES, Genesis are built to last. I'm not saying there aren't any issues but if something failed, we can have it repaired. Just in case it's unrepairable, there's a lot of those devices out there. Just how long programmed data on an FPGA last? Only FPGA programmers would know. It's a scary thought that if your NT mini dies and there's no aftermarket support, your replacement would cost twice on eBay.
  12. Good job on the manual. I have a question, for the 8:7 ratio. Is there any shimmering when interpolation is off? I think 8:7 should have been added as one of the default option IMO.
  13. Analogue sells their products at limited quantities starting with the CMVS. Once all of the warranties have expired and some of these FPGA systems begin to fail, will Analogue still support their own products? They are the only one manufacturing a SNES FPGA and 1 out of 2 with the NES FPGA right now. I've read somewhere that an original Analogue CMVS owner had issues with his system and Analogue support wasn't able to help him because they are not producing it anymore. I see one good advantage of the RetroUSB AVS. Bunnyboy is the one running his own store so if the device is out of warranty, you can probably have a paid support and/or buy spare parts. I hope Kevtris starts his own store as well. The FPGA systems will not be produced in limited quantities. We'll get better support from him than with Analogue.
  14. Im good with either aluminum or plastic. If Analogue will open a poll or kickstarter, I'm ok with that. The Atari VCS got a huge funding at kickstarter and we don't even know what it's capable of.
  15. I would love too see it as well but Chris said he'll probably not release it so I'm not expecting one. In a business point of view, I hope they do it. Nintendo is rereleasing the NES classic because of the demand. Some just missed the NT mini because of the price and/or wasn't aware of it's existence before the Super NT.
  16. Chris Taber mentioned in an interview with polygon that he'll probably not release a cheaper NT mini. Having my hopes up to rerelease the same version though since it's still listed on their site and there's still high demand for it. I also know some people who just got a Super NT who's willing to shell out for an NT mini.
  17. Btw, anyone here waiting for the NT Mini to be available again?
  18. I'm not underestimating it. We'll eventually get it. It's just not too soon. As you mentioned, a Neo Geo FPGA may cost $500. We also need to take into consideration the reverse engineering of this hardware may take longer. Maybe we'll see it after a few years. I think they will concentrate on retro consoles that can be priced 189USD and easier to reverse engineer. Btw, loading ROMS on the SD card has never been advertised by the company. The jailbroken firmware is unofficial. Loading Neo Geo games from an SD is also complicated that it took years before a Neo Geo flash cart was produced. Neo SD and Darksoft's multi cart are also complex expensive pieces of hardware right now.
  19. As a retro gamer, I would love to get a Neo Geo FPGA with digital output. In a business point of view though, I don't think they'll do one anytime soon. Their original CMVS was intended to be produced for a small number of enthusiasts. They chose the NES as their next project to get a wider audience. They now have the intention to get a mass market with their current systems and that's why they chose to release a NES and SNES FPGA's. These systems have great libraries of games and small retro gaming companies are still producing games and accessories. Games and accessories for the Neo Geo are expensive though whether it's an AES or MVS. If they make another run of both NT mini and Super NT, I believe it will still sell well.
  20. If Analogue won't sell the NT mini anymore, I might get a Retrousb AVS. I just hope kevtris can reissue a v2 of the NT mini and even if its just with 1080p HDMI output only even if it's not with Analogue. There's a market for NES and famicom so hopefully we get another FPGA system.
  21. @Reaperman thanks for sharing the video. I would love to get an NT mini at the same price of the Super NT with the same stripped down features. I don't think that Analogue will release one or reissue the the original one. @kevtris since your Zimba 3000 is currently on hold, would you release a cheaper NT mini clone with another company or with Gametech US if Analogue is not going to do it and will move forward to other projects? I think it will sell well. I'll pre order one.
