3 hours ago, Bobby Nelson said:Having gone through the SG-1000 library and seeing what hasn't been ported I guess here are the ones that are left that I, personally, feel have redeeming value:
-Borderline
-Hero (has it's own graphical style, replaces helicopter pack with a jetpack, and adds music during gameplay)
- Q*bert (I feel like the SG-1000 version controls really well, better than most other versions)
- Rock n' Bolt (A good version, the CV version is rare and expensive.)
-Safari Hunting.
And yeah games like Hero, Q*bert, and Rock n' Bolt have their own original CV version....but that didn't stop a certain pixel boy from publishing the SG-1000 version of Zaxxon. 😛 So that argument doesn't hold water. Anyway that's just my two cents as a customer. I would buy any/all of those titles if they were ported to the CV.
Ooh! Y'know, we should make SG-1000 to ColecoVision sequels of the CV games itself. I wonder why the other versions are just better and already released when we can make a better future for these games.

OK.

If you guys had a choice, would you want FM (YM2413)?
Either in the SGM or SGM2.

Big OOF
I'll take your advice there.

Just now, carlsson said:I might underestimate typical CV games but I think something like Turboat (MSX & SVI-328) could've fit the library in 1983.
My suggestion of a platformer, which has some similarities to Lode Runner but not a direct copy is Boogie Woogi Jungle.
Good ideas, good ideas. I'm actually working on Seleniak right now for the SGM.
-
When it comes to controller, is 52h the controller or just the data port for the SGM? If it's the data port, then I would use FCh or FFh for controllers.
-
How about Seleniak?

And, how about we port 007 James Bond (SG-1000 Version) and call it James Bond 2?

Translate all the little parts of Japanese text and make other little graphical touch-ups, rework the controls to make good use of the Super Action Controllers, and this could be renamed "Super Action Golf".
OH! Brilliant Idea! I just ported this to MSX just yesterday! I'll see what I can do about it.

I guess we can do it if the SGM2 comes out.

1 minute ago, carlsson said:For those whose long-term memory is less than 6 months, I could repeat that the MG-alike game Prisoner of War (also MSX1) already was ported to ColecoVision by Team Pixelboy.
Sure you could consider that Prisoner of War is an inferior game to the real Metal Gear series and keep looking for a full port, but as mentioned you need extra hardware with a different graphics chip on top of anything else that you need to add to your ColecoVision to play it.
I already knew that.

We'll just have to see.

1 minute ago, carlsson said:Does the SGM 2 feature a 9939 VDP then, bypassing the built-in graphics in the ColecoVision? As you may know, both Metal Gear games are for the MSX2 so those run on the later graphics chip, not the good old 9918/28/29.
We don't know.
-
But I'm running out of ideas since all of you great coders are converting a lot of games.

Metal Gear 2:Solid Snake.....SGM2?
OH!
GOOD IDEAS!
But...
Is the SGM 2 out yet?We would love to have MSX2 games and other systems on there.
-
How bout Guzzler? That seems like an SG-1000 game never done yet.
-
I would say Bomb Jack, but that's been done by CollectorVision in another way.
-
I might also do Hype, which is another great SHMUP, but hard.

I was wondering if anyone in the Pixelboy team wants to put the game Dynamite Go! Go! on the ColecoVision as an SGM game.

This is a video of the SCC version of the game.
And this is on an WebMSX, I used one of my new ideas, C-BIOS installation.
So this is what MSX colors look like for real on an MSX2 or up.

Could you be interested by a physical version ?
I really like the graphic style, it deserves a box version, don't you think?
Yes it does! Nanochess, you should make money out of this!

Any ideas for SG-1000, MSX, or Sord M5 games for ColecoVision?
