Licensed classic games that didn't suck
Bill Brasky replied to The Eidolon's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Rocky for CV was pretty damn cool for it's time. Huge characters, a cool intro, the ability to play as Clubber Lang, SA controls. -
You should really be deciding between a CV and an Atari 8 bit computer/XE game system. The Atari 8 bit/XE line is a way better choice than the 5200. You've got access to all the 5200 games plus hundreds more, S-video output, can use just about any common 9 pin joystick, smaller, cheaper, easier to get games for.

What's your favorite BurgerTime?
Bill Brasky replied to jbanes's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The 4A version plays like an unfinished proto. Everytime you stop then start moving again, the background music resets and starts from the beginning of the song. It sounds like a DJ scratching a record. -

I had the record that goes with this. I remember when the door-to-door salesman came to my house and we begged my mom to buy it.

What system is this Qbert game cartridge for!
Bill Brasky replied to Atarimania75's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You should scoop up one of those TI-99 flash card adapters when they pop up on Ebay. That's the way to go IMO since there's a lot of very rare and expensive games that are also very good. A lot of games came out for it until around 1990 that were mail order only, limited runs. -
I got pretty far into it once, I thought, but in reality I was probably only through 5% of the game. I know it's nearly impossible on all platforms but it seems even harder playing it on a portable system. Also, how come almost no Lynx games have decent cheat codes? I'm talking about invincibility modes for games that really need them like Shadow ot Beast. Atari really liked to punish us.
-
I always wished Atari or someone else had released a device for the Jaguar like the Super Gameboy cart for the SNES but to allow you to play Lynx games full screen. Atari already had the technology to do it. Their programmers and testers had units that allowed Lynx games to be played on a TV.

Qwak for GBA - great homebrew -
Bill Brasky replied to panamajoe's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Is the GBA a totally open system or did someone break the encryption key? I would think Nintendo would want to lock everyone out. -

Try cleaning/polishing the electrical contacts where the power supply inserts. -

Colecovision - It's Only Rock n' Roll game
Bill Brasky replied to Red 5's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I think I've played it many years ago. IIRC I had it on a tape for my ADAM computer. I know I've played Campaign '84 and I think the gameplay was similar to that. Instead of going around the country and meeting voters and kissing babies you go around and meet fans and groupies. As far as value, I thought only the xonox double-enders went for $100+, the regular xonox carts varied in price but didn't go for that much. You would be nuts to pay $200+ for a xonox game. -
Why do so few sellers ship from US to UK?
Bill Brasky replied to chubsta's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I'll add that sending to Canada is almost worse than sending stuff overseas. The Canadian postal system will find a way to destroy or lose anything. The Canadian postal worker, delivering your package with care. -

Bill Brasky replied to chubsta's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=106250 plus overseas buyers never leave you positive feedback in return, no matter how far you've bent over backwards to accomodate them. -
