Anyone remember Zaxxon cereal? I remember getting my mom to buy it. There was a red filter lens prize inside the cereal and you had to use it to look at some card to see if you won a Zaxxon machine.

I realised how good the CV really was ,and still is!
Bill Brasky replied to Rik's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, but I'm not electronically knowledgable or anything, I don't know what all the wires coming out of the ATX supply do, or are for (most are just repeats) And I don't think I'd mod the CV to permanantly not take a CV supply even if I didn know the voltage of the wire Usually there's a sticker right on the side of a PC ps showing what each wires voltage is. Why would you have to mod the CV? -
Treasure Island was and Angler Dangler supposedly exists as a proto (although I've never seen it). I don't think Mission X and Astro Fighter were ported. Tempest I've played all four on MESS.

The Build your own arcade controls site has a message board with people always selling or giving away stuff. A number of those rare DECO games were ported to the TI-99(Treasure Island, Angler Dangler, Astro Fighter, Mission X). I don't know if they were ever released or if they're all protos.

The Coleco ADAM version was really cool. It's a "Supergame" version that has some features from Super Zaxxon arcade but is a unique version. It's not insanely hard like Super Zaxxon. I wonder what the deal is with SEGA. They have all these legendary classic games like Zaxxon, Pengo, Up'n'Down, Star Trek and others but whenever they put out any kind of Sega Ages compilation it's always the same 4 or 5 crappy games over and over(Out Run, Space Harrier, Hang On, AfterBurner). It's like they won't acknowledge anything they made pre-1985.

I've had dozens of CV systems over the years that I've bought and sold. Out of all of them, maybe one was what I would call 'dead' where there was an actual CPU or GPU failure or memory chip(s) had died. 95% of the time it's an easy, non-electronic fix, just swapping power supplies and/or fixing/cleaning up the power switch/cleaning the ps connector. Most people won't do this and just trash them. -

Hi BILL!thats good to know!.I was worried i'd have to resort to e-bay for a CV power supply, which is quite a gamble,as i DO NOT trust the CV POWER SUPPLY,THEY,VE GOT TO BE THE WORST power supply for reliability.Ive found original power supplys for numerous classic consoles,in the wild, and they've all worked great, and still are,but a CV power supply......i still yet have to find a working one!One question BILL,are there any MAJOR mods required to make an atx pc power supply work on a CV?,i GET A LITTLE NERVOUS WHEN IT COMES TO MODIFICATIONS ON CLASSIC STUFF.Thanx! You could splice the cable connector from the old, non-working CV power supply to the new PC supply. You just need to get the +5, -5, +12 voltages into the system somehow. Do a search. There's been multiple threads on this topic. I think you can also do this to power an ADAM instead of using the big printer. -
This is a great idea. I wonder if we got 100 people to agree to it if it would be possible to get a bulk purchase deal.

Any generic atx PC power supply will power the CV. They're as near as your local PC parts shop. It's no big deal. -
Sean Kelly has Vectrex Multicarts listed on eBay

I wonder if he actually has them made now or he's doing his usual, take your money now and make your cart when he gets around to it, when/if he feels like it. -

You should try Q*bert's Qubes. It's a much more fun game than the 1st IMO. -
Get a Pro-controller before you get it, if you don't already have one. It makes a huge difference in playability.

In praise of the Virtual Boy

It would've been much cooler in color. Nintendo could've made a color version but went the cheap route with their hardware. The sound chip sounded like a big step backwards from the SNES. It would've been better if it was built into a headset you could wear like helmet sitting upright or laying down. Having to lean into that fragile wireframe stand isn't ergonomic. -
The problem with Pitstop is if you mount the controller in the DC to shift up and down, you can't get at it quickly when you need to move your pit crew around when you hit a pitstop.

Ebay slams the door on GP32 and Game Boy Advance
Bill Brasky replied to Doc4's topic in Auction Central
I don't know. It doesn't stay up for even 24 hours. They'll say it's a copyright violation but when I point out to them that all those GBA,Famicom, Vectrex and other multicarts are a violation too they have no response. -

They've done the same thing to me. I'd see illegal GBA multicarts for sale all the time on ebay and I've sold Famicom multicarts and vectrex multicarts but if I try to list a CV multicart it gets yanked immediately. -
I played one back in the day at a Sears arcade. It has a cool sparkly black finish that doesn't show up in photos.

New, mint condition with uncracked case. I only popped this in once, years ago, just to see what it looked like then it went back in it's case. This was the last hockey game released for the Saturn. Has great graphics. $9.99 plus shipping
