Microvision (Milton Bradley)
Bill Brasky replied to toymailman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
They don't all have screen rot. Mine was perfect. -
There used to be one at the mall that was about 3 blocks away from my house. I had been going there even before we moved to that city. My mom used to get us these Easter Eggs for Easter filled with game tokens that AC would sell. It WAS a great arcade. They had Armor Attack (vector), Tempest. Discs of Tron Environmental, Tron, and a huge assortment of video and electro-mechanical games packed into a tiny space. Once we moved there I'd ride my bike up there all the time. They were originally called Bally's Aladdin's Castle. I remember when Karate Champ and Kung Fu Master first came out there and started the downward slide towards all fighting/racing games that polluted arcades. They got suckier when Namco took them over. They used to have a better variety of machines and changed the machines more often. When Namco took over they filled it with lots of Namco crap like Tekken that you could play on the Playstation.

Can someone give me some Coleco imput?
Bill Brasky replied to FibroFreak78's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Spy Hunter? You can use the wheel with Pitstop but I found it controls better with the stick. -
I had one of those. They're only designed to work with the old style GBA. I own an SP version.

I've got a new NES replacement 72 pin connector for sale. $6.99 shipped

No. Coleco collectors aren't like Atari collectors who obsess over every label variation. I've sold plenty of the dual language Coleco stuff. You don't get more for it.

Power Supply Substitution Table?
Bill Brasky replied to Atariman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You can arcade switching power supplies on ebay for $10-$15 that should have proper voltages for most classic consoles, depending on how you hook it up. -
Isn't there a way to brush flux onto the cart circuit boards and dip them in a solder bath to solder the chips in? I've seen it done before. Way faster and less tedious than individually soldering each cart.

How necessary is having an Alpine to Jag game development in this day and age with the loader built in to Protector and emulators? Is it just a nice luxury but not necessary?

Has anyone played these Colecovision games?
Bill Brasky replied to jboypacman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
No. Even if the game program could somehow read the steering wheel's output, the roller controller uses two encoders, for x and y directions. The steering wheel only has one encoder. -
I don't think you can buy Space Invaders Collection anymore. I recently sold mine on ebay and it for more than new. Opcode says they'll make more but you know how that is.

IIRC, the 2600 paddle has a potentiometer inside. The Turbo controller has a rotary encoder, same as what's in a trakball controller. -
I remember this game was developed by Midway and then they shelved it because I guess they thought it was crap or the PSX version didn't sell. Then like a year or two later some other company bought the rights to it and released it.

4 CV consoles in various states on disrepair/modification. One has a 8bitdomain component video/ 4 way Bios mod installed with output jacks. Needs to be troubleshooted. Don't have the time/patience. The CV it was installed in worked great prior to the a/v bios mod, so I know it still works. One CV works ok last time I checked, took it apart to try video experiment. two CV consoles are DOA, don't know what's wrong with them, haven't checked them out. Might be easily fixable. Have at least a couple working power supplies I'll include. The 8bitdomain a/v bios mod is a $40 part, when it was available. I'd like $50 plus shipping for all.
-
It doesn't matter if it's new/unused. Some CV's won't work right with one ps but work perfect with another ps. You can take the ps that wouldn't work right with that CV and try it with another CV and it works fine. They're finicky with their ps. I've had to go through 8-10 CV's and match them up with ps's that they "like" by trying them all.

You messed with the rf switch internals/adj pot? Try a different power supply.
-
Crush them up and snort them.
-
You have air conditioning on your CV? Wow! That must be great in the summer.
-
Yes. You'll need something small like a jeweler's screwdriver to get at it through a tiny hole in the circuit board.
